Introductions - Hello from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey everyone!
I stumbled onto this site when someone added it to the links section on my site! How could I have gone all these years and not even known about this great place?! Well, I am here now, and glad... this place rocks! I too have a mountain bike forums page, only mine is www.mtbforums.com, not nearly as large as we have here, but a good size none the less.
Well, about me. I grew up in Toronto, and moved to Calgary when I was about 12... that's when I seriously got into biking. Back then your Mountain Bike was nothing more than a really sturdy road frame with larger tires and a more upright seated position. Things progress, time moves on, and now I am Ottawa and ride/race year-round! (Well, except right now, I have a broken collarbone from a DH run 3 weeks ago...)
My current XC racer is a 2001 Gary Fisher Sugar 3. I have made a few modifications and upgrades, but it's more or less stock. It is a great bike to start with, so there is very little I need to do to it. You can see my bike profile here (http://www.mtbkanata.com/RiderBios/Profile_Joe.html).
Anyway, great to be here, and I am sure I'll be chatting with some of you in the future!
Later,
Joe

Welcome Joe, or should I say, what took you so long to find this place? ;)
BTW, very cool site you've got there. I really like the photos section! Thanks for sharing.

I don't shop at too many stores here in Ottawa... usually I get used, or know people who can source parts for me. But if I had to do a shop, I would go to Greg Christies in Chelsea, Kunstadt in Kanata, or T&L in Ottawa...

*wonder who might've added that link*

Aren't there any skins for phpbb. Every site looks the same ;)...
I only happened to stumble on this place when Joe visited www.sitepointforums.com for a review. I happened to do the review and remembered the place when I got into cycling.

Joe = Me..? and I go to Sitepoint all the time! :) Hcor is cool! yeah, I am slowly working on a new skin for my phpbb, but I haven't had the time... it takes a long time to make the graphics and colours work together ... and look good! I'll be doing that over the winter... unless there are any inspiring artists that want to help! :)
Joe
Hello Joe from balmy So California... glad you found your way here; it's a fun place to listen and share opinons about our passions. And, I might add, some pretty level headed people from many walks of life.

I haven't been to sitepoint in a year. I stopped visiting after a long stay away from computers (summer time and way too much working with computers)
And for Joe, I meant Joe Gardner of this site. I reviewed this site year and a half ago.
Sorry pure programmer now (I would love to help). My graphics skill is that of a gnat. Besides I don't do anything even remotely related to programming once I get home :D
