The "I Share the Road" rally and Donutfest happened this morning. Here are a couple of reports on how it went.

I checked the Oregonian (http://www.oregonlive.com/oregonian/) and didn't see any coverage. Did I miss the article?
Edit: Here's (http://www.oregonlive.com/news/oregonian/index.ssf?/base/news/1138334134232950.xml&coll=7) the article.

I didn't read anything about any special bicycle activities going on in the Columbus Dispatch. Perhaps there is nothing going on in Columbus; or perhaps what was going on will be covered another day.
Maybe you should stop your whining/nit picking about the success of Portland's bicycle policies and accomplishments of itslocal bicycling advocates, and spend more time encouraging coverage of your city's accomplishments.
Those lucky portlander bikers!
Seattle riders only get free doughnuts once a year, on bike-to-work day...I tell ya, I think there's a bunch of socialists living down in Portland, taking advantage of a growing network of integrated bicycle accomodations...

Maybe those lucky Portlanders should Fed Ex some doughnuts to Columbus Ohio for down on their luck Buckeye code breakers to munch on while they scan the Portland newspapers and the Internet looking for evidence of bike lane shenannigans.
When I'm not using my bike to commute (usually due to inclement weather) I'm on a bus. The drivers vary from some who are pretty grumpy and rude, some who are pretty neutral and some who are unbelievably kind. I've gotten in the habit of taking the time to drop an e-mail of praise occasionally when a driver seems especially good since I never hesitate to make a call or drop an email of complaint when one does something particularly stupid or dangerous.
I think Portland is demonstrating how worthwhile it is to balance our responses.

If you're lucky enough to commute from East side Portland into downtown, there is one bridge where the BTA (bicycle transportation alliance) gives out donutes every morning in the summer. Too bad that my commute is about 30 miles west of that bridge in an adjacent city.
