I'm a gadget person and found this:
http://www.trainingpeaks.com/images/keychain_small.jpg
Apparently you scan the UPC code on packages of food (it even knows a lot of restaurant foods) and the nutritional data is then tracked for you.

The website with more explanation of what this can do is here: http://www.trainingpeaks.com/caloriescanner/
Is this a valuable tool or just a gadget thingie that doesn't have practical use? I suppose it's like a cool electronic diary, but what can I use it for other than easily logging what I eat?
It looks neat but I think I need an angel (or demon?) on my shoulder telling me if it's a waste of money (it's $150) or not.
Thanks.
