This whole Lance/Kirstin Armstrong divorce thing reminds me of the actor Kevin Costner's divorce. I thought his wife, Cindy Silva, was wonderful and his three children were just so precious. I thought Mr. Costner was a complete idiot and I still do. Lance Armstrong fits this description, also. I mean, this is a man who actually survived testicular cancer that had spread to his lungs and brain and he still is an atheist!

Or maybe he divorced his family because, subconsciously, he is following in the footsteps of his own biological father who deserted the family when he was 2. Or perhaps he is following in the footsteps of his mother, who is is very close to, and who has married 4 times!

Or maybe he is just like so many other men who become rich and famous and find that one woman simply isn't enough. Quantity over quality. Which gets back to my original comment.

Did I miss something? Did Lance state he was an atheist or is this your interpretation based on his actions?

Or maybe he's just human like the rest of us. Sheesh.

Since you were NOT a part of their marriage, you really have no idea of what really went on between the two of them. Sometimes, when you don't know what you are talking about, you should just shut the f@%! up.

Hey, speaking of Fabio... didn't he hit a bird when riding a rollercoaster a few years ago? I can't remember exactly. Things are just too complex I guess.

Hey demoncyclist,

As long as I'm stuck doing laundry and making a birthday cake tonight... I noticed you're in Medfield? How close are you to the Stop River, near the Walpole town line? I lived there as a kid. Super Duper... still there?

My impression was that He was more of a agnostic than a atheist from reading his book?????

I don't think Lance ever said he was an atheist. What he did say was something along the lines of IF he is judged by an all-supreme being that he will be judged on how he lived his life, NOT what specific church/religion he claimed.

At least I think that's what he said...along those lines...

I live between Kingsbury and Danielson Ponds. Just off Rt 27 about a mile from Walpole. Super Duper is now a CVS pharmacy and a D'Angelos sandwich shop. I only know about SUper Duper from some photos from the historical society I restored and enarged as wall decor for the D'Angelos.

I'm not that old! Well, maybe I am. I was part of the first class to go that brand new Ralph Wheelock elementary school. Had double sessions at South Street for six months while they took their time to finish it. I lived on Stagecoach Road. And since I was in second grade then, I can't remember much more than that. Just that there was a swamp right behind our house and there isn't anything much more fun than a swamp when you're in the second grade. Had a Huffy then.

I smell a troll. New poster with this the only post.

And didn't Kirstin cheat on Lance?

The only way Kirstin cheated on Lance is if she could bring the kids along.

Anyway, moved to a relevant forum. This is not a road cycling discussion.

Hmmm, strange... What someone does with their marriage and relationships is none of my business. It's certainly not something that I'd like others to examine under a microscope and expose to the press. So, I'll just keep my trap shut on the whole Lance/Kristen/Sheryl thing. Unless they're having a threesome, in which case I want the videos posted stat!

whatever. divorce is hard for both parties and their families. it probably wasn't an easy decision. there's two sides to every story. let it go.

It's amazing what a troll can start. I guess it's why they do it. :)

I don't see where kids have anything to do with cheating or not unless it is just not in her nature. Either way it is just sad and sad to realize that heros are only human.

Don't have a copy of the book with me, but check out Every Second Counts. Somewhere in the 2nd or 3rdish chapter Lance explains why he wears the cross but doesn't believe.

KrisPistofferson

The cross was given to him by a fellow cancer victim, he wears it to remember him, not as a religious symbol. Lance is agnostic, and credits his recovery from cancer to "good doctors, good medicine." Hate to make anyone rewrite their sermons for next sunday, but that's just how it is. Also, has anybody ever heard of minding their own ****ing business as far as the marriage thing goes. The truth is, NONE of us has idea one about what went on in their marriage, and even if we did, only those of us who are perfect would qualify to pass judgement.

This is not a troll post gents.

This is the new reality where NO news, IS the news.

Celebrity reporting, malicious and maligned gossipy soft news replacing hard news and real information. People unable to separate nor distinguish media hype from their own bland, lacklustre, mediocre and miserable lives. People living their lives of quiet desperation, vicariously through celebrity worship, superimposing their own value and belief systems on celebrity lives they openly abhor and envy, simultaneously.

In a word : Pathetic

Sorry,I gotta go with Troll.

Married to a runner I can agree on the feet. But I'm sure saddle sores don't look pretty either.

If anyone reads drunkcyclist.com, there was a link to the website of a guy who went off on Lance Armstrong because he was divorced and had "abandoned" his kids in order to race in the Tour.

Effed up guy.

I read in an article in Bicycling that their divorce was mutual and very civil. I don't think he dumped her because he got famous all the sudden. But then again I don't know the guy.

My opinion.. it's garbage, any statement that starts with "apparently" is a jump to conclusion to me. yep, Im sure he has to make choices and sacrefice but to assumed that he abandonned his children? People are going to believe what they want to believe.. some people have nothing better to do then putting down the ones who succeed.. Go Lance!!! and if things dont work out with Cheryl.. here's my number.. 1- 800- lanceisgod

Lance Armstrong & Sheryl Crow Split

February 3, 2006

In another shocking celebrity breakup, LANCE ARMSTRONG and SHERYL CROW have split, according to People magazine. The seven-time Tour de France bicycling champion and the rockstar musician got engaged in September 2005, when Armstrong proposed to Crow in Sun Valley, ID, not long after he retired from the pro circuit in July. He and Crow officially became an item back in early 2004.

"After much thought and consideration we have made a very tough decision to split up. We both have a deep love and respect for each other and we ask that everyone respect our privacy during this very difficult time," a joint statement released to People through Armstrong's spokesman read.

Armstrong, 33, has a son and two twin daughters from a previous marriage. Grammy winner Crow, 42, has previously been linked to ERIC CLAPTON, OWEN WILSON and KID ROCK.

The couple spoke to BARBARA WALTERS last November, when Armstrong was named one of Walters' "Most Fascinating People." While showing off her six-carat diamond engagement ring, the two talked about what drew them together.

"She's hot," Lance said. "I saw that!"

But Sheryl said she just knew he was the one. "I think sometimes you meet people and they just strike such a familiar chord with you," she said. "I just thought I had known him forever."

Lance also spoke to our KEVIN FRAZIER about his love for Crow in August 2005, saying, "We plan on having a long future together."

For more news on the split, stay tuned to ET!

If i had a chance, I would take itt.....
I'm sorry I'm human and as a human being you have to take chances..
Or live the rest of your life saying, "what would have happened".
Lance is human too, regardless of what his cycling skills may say :p
