I was sifting through a small parts drawer & i came upon this. I don't recall what it is for.Can anyone help identifying it? I believe it goes in sort of hub(drawer is dubbed "Hub"), but i am not sure. It is about 1" long....
TIA for any input.

Can you provide a close up photo, or describe it with a little more detail (material, threads, holes...).

Maybe something fell into your small parts drawer?

Could it be a piece of a spoke? I've seen usable rear hubs that were salvaged from garbage wheels by cutting all of the spokes. All too often, the goons that employ this method fail to remove the freewheel first......ggrrrrr

It basically looks like a standard drift pin with about a 30 deg bend on it,it is steel,no threads, solid. It strikes me as being some sort of retainer pin.It could be something that got dropped off in there somehow. It is buggin me now......
I WILL find out what it is though....lol.
I have a funny suspicion it is something from an old Schwinn Letour

:D. It's .130" thick. couldn't be a spoke

Any chance it could be a replaceable tip from a C-clip tool?
The cheap, useless kind come with a couple of plier bodies for internal/external rings, and a crapload of tips that look like that thing.

How about a broken piece from the end of Shimano 3 speed pushrod. The part that goes into the hub to engage the different gears.
