I am new to tubs. I want to use tape and not glue (for light road use only).
I have a large roll of doublesided tape used for carpet laying.
If cut to the right width would it be suitable for taping my tubs?
Or does tub tape use a special adhesive?
Thank you.

I'd recommed against using any other tape then tubular specfic tape. Carpet tape isn't designed to handle side loads.

May work, may not, but I sure as heck wouldn't experiment with something like that. I rode sew ups for years and had 1 (no lie) tire roll, it is not fun crashing and living it down adds insult to injury. Never want to repeat that so I don't mess with things that aren't tried and true.
