Here are some pics of Dinotte's Li Ion systems dubbed their Endurance Series. The NiMH lights will go by the name Performance Series, and the two systems will not be interchangeable.

I really like the idea of the splitter. You could buy a single and if it wasn't enough light for you, then get another light with a splitter. You'd be able to run two lights off of one battery.

I'm not sure how these lights are going to be packaged, what the cost is, or their availability, but I think they are exactly what I need. If the price is right, then I'm definitely getting these lights.
