Anybody on here ever ride in one or have any info?

When I lived there I saw this race many years ago (about 12 yrs?) when it was the First Security Twilight Criterium. At the time I thought it was really cool from a spectators point of view. Couldn't believe how fast they were, the cops following on their motorcycles dragging their pipes around every corner trying to keep up with the peleton, :D and thousands of spectators lining the streets with clickers constantly chirping. :D Now from a cyclists point of view I think it would be a total rush to participate in. I haven't been able to find much info on it. Is it a pro only race? Invitational? Do they have amature classes like Cat 5, 4, or 3 :o ?

I have never done it but I am pretty sure there are cat 1-2-3, cat 4-5, and master classes among others. Hope this helps.

Yep, you're right. I found an article that talked about the other Cats in the event.

I also found an email address for the race promoter so hopefully I'll get more info.

Looks like it's July 22nd, I think I'll give it a go if they'll take me. :D

SteveAz, I myself do not do many crits but many of my riding mates have done it and say it is very fun. all the people cheering the racers sounds awsome. Good luck, maybe I will see you there.

Let me know if you decide to do it, I could use another rider or two to work with :)

If anyone is interested, the registration is HERE (https://www.sportsbaseonline.com/item.aspx?item_id=952)
