Having recently converted a frame from
Friction shifting to Ergo I've noticed that the
cables rub the sides of the headtube. Newer
frames have cable stops which hold the cable
off the headtube. So, does anyone have an idea
about protecting finish on headtube?

thanks,
Marty

Clear tape on the HT.

3M makes some good clear tape for this. It is very thick so the cables will not rub thrugh. It is sold in sheets 1'x1', check out your local hardwear store.

Lizard Skins also makes stick-on patches to protect the head tube from cables, but the clear tape idea is cheaper.
