Rule violation....you violated the Aspen rule of:

What happens in Aspen, CO Gay Ski Week, STAYS at Aspen, CO Gay Ski Week!

There are so many people who are not open minded enough to just leave things be. Those who cast judgement upon others whose lilfestyle does not affect them have a sense of insecurity within themselves. How many times have you heard of people making remarks, comments, or outright downgrading others because of their ability to express themselves and no be ashamed of who they are?

The sad thing is that there HAS to be a Gay Ski Week. A week in the snow where they can be free to have fun, without the finger pointing, the judgement, the name calling. A week where nobody has to hide or put up a facade, pretending to be what others expect.

It's too bad that it has to be a designated week, and not alll the time when someone can be happy and free away from all of the stereotypes and stigmas. When someone can just be who they are and left alone.

Amen, sis.

I used to be like that when I was younger. Now that I look back I think nearly all guys, when younger, aren't really secure in their sexuality yet. Of course....they're all trying to be too macho to see that as we'll see very quickly as some start bashing this statement saying just how incredibly secure they are. LOL

It took a few years to get over it....but doesn't bother me in the least now. As you said, sis....I respect those that have the ability to be open about it. Enough of the gay bashing!

From my experience most people that are odd - like to point out that they are odd.
While in the Navy one of my better friends, whom I got along with quite well and didn't try to get me drunk or some other ****, was gay. The biggest thing that I noticed about him was was that he always did things that made it extremely obvious that he was different from everybody else.

While working at another place, this employee would not hesitate to announce that he was gay while at work. I've seen the same thing with other people who are "different from others" in other way, whether its being a whole lot nerdier then everybody else or whether its being Goth.

Just something peculiar that I've noticed. To borrow a line from Larry the Cable guy where he is talking about political correctness, people picketing in california saying "We're queer and we're here". I honestly don't think there would be as much of a hissy foo about their lifestyle if they didn't bother to picket or have a parade. To borrow another line from Larry the Cable guy, I got friends who like sheep but they don't have a parade about it .

Didn't say anything was wrong with love.. I said I was having hard time relating to the pool scene because those two looked like rough guys and not the type I would of thought were homosexual.. but it was of course said in a joking matter.. making fun at stereotypes at the most. Nothing wrong with love. They actually look more happy then when my hubby and I go swimming, if I hold him by the neck it's usually to bring him under.:)

This is what I have heard referred to as "shaming the Devil" by making fun of stereotypes. Invariably someone won't get it and will get offended.

OK Ill say this one more time. I was making fun of the stereotypes.. no issue here. I dont have issues.. It was a poorly delivered joke at the most.. and the joke was directed towards the stereotypes not at them. I do NOT have an issue!!!!if i offended anyone, it sure wasnt my intent. I was truly making fun of the stereotypes.:)

One thing's for sure, thems ain't Chelsea boys in the pool. And I still don't know which one's Randya.

I make fun of my gay friends just like I make fun of my straight friends. The usual topics to pick on them about are their back hair, male pattern baldness, weight and double chins. Why do I make fun of them? Cuz they're my friends and I love them, and they make fun of me too and then we go eat.

I got the joke. They sure don't look like the guys you'd see on Queer as Folk. I also didn't see any minorities in the pics. What's up w/ that?

OK here we go again... what do they look like? that was MY point.. I was making fun at the stereotype we have, the false conception that we know what gay or straight people look like. and for the record.. that was yet another joke about my hubby and I didnt realise that I had put him down ANYWHERE.. so.. love to you too and to all and to my hubby sitting in the buttom of the pool. :)

So thats where Altitude went. We used to get that, great business. They stopped coming a couple of years ago when the organizer passed away.

I remember a few years ago a SWF coworker and her friends complaining that they spent their money to go to Whistler during 'Gay Pride Week'.

I asked 'How was the skiing', and the reply was, 'That's not the point'.

Exactly,If they want to use "free speech" they must pay the price of criticism & ridacule just like EVERYONE else. If they want to go & get their junk packed in their trunks ,that is their business.
Don't try to Infringe or sell ideologies & expect to get nothing back in return.

Have you ever been to San Francisco? New Orleans? NYC? Fort Lauderdale? Every week is Gay week.

Notice there's no Redneck Week in Aspen. That's okay. There's no snooty snow-bunny week in Talladega.
;)

And what about me? I'm riding my bicycle to the coffee shop, just minding my business in my Team Jelly Belly jersey and LG shorts. Just having fun and trying to ignore the finger pointing, judgement, and name calling.

Now excuse me, my wife and I are planning our Aids Action Coaliton Dining with Friends party. Toodles.
