Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. mmmmhmmmmm
I'm cold.
Yesterday it went from being around 90 degrees to around 65 degrees in about 10 minutes! Crazy Utah weather. It ruined my hiking plans. At least bf and I got a small ride in early that day while it was still ridiculously hot.
We had that fluctuation here as well. Disguistly hot and humid to cold. Strange. DLO is on a super big girl vacation with Grandma so I was able to get out yesterday evening.

It's possible! We always seem to get a summer snow storm as well. Hasn't happened yet, but the way things are going, it wouldn't surprise me.

I suppose its better than being in someplace like Phoenix or Vegas where the heat is nonstop and relentless!!!

The weather around here fluctuates pretty drastically, too. Starting late May/early June, one minute it's ****ing hot and ****ing humid and the next thing you know it's September...

Oklahoma. I complain, but I know we don't have it as bad as Houston concerning heat and humidity. And I'd rather be sweating my ass off than freezing it off.

The accidental breast brush can be excused based on the size of said breast. For women with larger glands it's just difficult to avoid sometimes - like if she has to step closer to allow someone to pass or something. Yep - complile the data and if you suspect, keep an extra eye out for the touchy behavior.
I could hyave used some of those gestures last night. :roflmao:

Hey all! CT weather pretty much sucks. I live right near the shoreline, so that helps a little bit. Work sucks a little bit, but I'm surviving. My new avatar is one of my retired rescue greyhounds "Andre" aka "Dre Dre", "Mr Softie" :) I miss him.:(

Retired from racing...rescued by me, had to find them (Andre, Jessie, Jewel & Sabrina) new families/homes when I got divorced about two years ago. I'll never see them again. Jessie...the oldest one could be in doggie heaven, I hope not, but I have no way of knowing. Makes me very sad.:( I think of them every day.:(

Ahh. That's why I promised myself I'd never have another pet again. I hate getting emotionally attached to crap. And animals is even worse. I actually cried over my kitten. I didn't shed a single tear for my grandfather on my mom's side and merely had a sad thought for grandfather on my dad's side.
cycle17, sorry to hear you had to let your dogs go. :(
I'm trying to get work done and wondering when I'll manage to squeeze in a lunch break. We have a short break at 2:30 to have cake in celebration of my prof's 60th birthday.
Lex and jyo, thanks for your input.

Oooh payroll deductions. Figuting out what those are always fun.
On my pay roll they have a FSA deduction and Im still trying to figure out how it is deducted. Whether it deducts from the amount that is taxed, or whether it's added to the amount that is taxed.
What's the gel waiting for? to be styled ? :D

I'm running DNA digests on a 1% agarose gel and am waiting for the fragments to separate enough so I can take a picture...

No. DNA == Life blood. Life Blood == Now the question is, What are you going to do with the pictures once the fragments have separated. I wasn't aware that gel had DNA though. :o

I test rode a 2006 Trek Madone 5.5.
I'm going to puke.
Now the question is, What are you going to do with the pictures once the fragments have separated. I wasn't aware that gel had DNA though. :o
The gel has DNA on it because the DNA was loaded onto the gel. Usually with lots of samples in individual lanes on one end of the gel. Usually, with the pictures, you try to determine what size(s) the DNA fragments are (and sometimes how much of each size) in hopes that that knowledge--and the knowledge of how you generated those fragments in the first place--might give you some useful information.
That said, I have no clue what peregrine's actually doing, so she may be doing something completely different.

Now the question is, What are you going to do with the pictures once the fragments have separated. I wasn't aware that gel had DNA though. :o
I'm trying to ligate this two pieces of DNA together to make a circular clone, but I have to make sure that the orientation of each is right. So after I digest the DNA, I load it onto the gel, then I run the gel and the fragments separate according to size. Then I take a picture with a UV camera that allows me to visualize each fragment.
This is just an analytical procedure that I use to verify orientation; I'm not using all of the DNA sample that I have. Once I'm sure I have the clone I want to make, I'll use it for whatever I needed it.

Looks like I'm too slow for you, jschen :)
I'm supposed to be reviewing chapters of my book, but ended up sitting here with a glass of red getting mildly 'faced' while surfing the net.
If you can't take a break once in a while, what's the point of skiving all day long, eh?

I just happened to be on BF while eating some free pizza for lunch. (No, not free_pizza! I'm not a cannibal!) Right now, I'm done with lunch, but I can't get my column run before my prof's cake celebration (only 30 minutes, might manage in 60 minutes, really need 120 minutes continuously free to be comfortable), so I guess I have a bit of free time.

Y'know, you could use the wood for bbq's. Then it wouldn't be so stupid. Or make chopsticks. Lots of 'em.

I've already got nice chopsticks, but bbq would be nice nice.
I need to get to cleaning. I keep putting it off, but I'd like to get most of it done while I'm not working, if possible.
Just got back from dinner. Taking a quick digestive break before getting back to work and catching up on BF during the break. Had four Mountain Dew's over dinner to help keep me awake for the work that lies ahead. I had forgotten how disturbing the Mountain Dew shade of yellow is. Looks like I'm drinking some random lab concoction. Whatever... it's not as if I drink it all that often.

I think I'd rather be in the lab with you, jschen. I just finished ripping the carpet out of the "cat room." Ewww! Think I might have figured out where the mouse that's been plaguing me got into the house, tho. If I ever have more than 2 cats again, somebody, please, shoot me....
Then come on over! I'm still in the lab, so you're welcome to hang out here. Hop on that Ducati, and you might be here by the end of the weekend.

Don't think I won't take you up on that someday, but, for now, I'd better continue with the bachelor pad renovations.:( I think I might hire a maid service for that, eventually....
Time to go home. My stomach's a bit upset at the moment. I probably shouldn't have drunk so much Mountain Dew. But it did do its job in keeping me awake through my work. Anyway... good night.

So I found this Random Slogan Generator and when I 'sloganized' the word Bikeforums, this is what came up:
You Can Do It When You Bikeforums It.
When You've Got Bikeforums, Flaunt It.
I also tried bicycle
Live in Your Bicycle, Play in Ours.
Melts In Your Bicycle, Not In Your Hand.
Bicycle Is Our Middle Name.
Give That Man A Bicycle.
And my favourite one:

Oh, and ever since Siu started that Xanadu-thread, I've had the song stuck in my head. So I broke down an hour ago and Bittorrented it, and I've had it on continuous play since then. Damn, I'm such a nerd.
