Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Seems I missed some major/minor dramas in Foo or BF or whatever. Anyone wanna fill me in?
PM me if you want the short version. I'd rather not bring it back up in forum as we seem to be unwinding from far too much drama.
Morning Jeff - see you're not on Messenger. :p

I had a pretty tasteless analogy, but it is best that I keep it to myself. :o :(
I recommend that you PM donnamb and ask for a summary. Discussing it here in any form raises the risk of a ruckus in this thread.

Been ok but insanely busy on my trauma rotation... Lots of great operating experience but not much time for riding, or sleep for that matter. This too shall pass... Less than 2 months to go!!
Hopefully there are healthier people in the world as a result of your rotation. :)

heh. seems to be really quiet in here today. y'all must be as busy as i am or you're skeerd to talk about anything.
anyways - i took my rear PT wheel to the shop and got it trued. as quickly as it was done, less than 5 minutes, seems like I could learn how to do that. didn't cost me anything except the gas out to the shop. maybe it's something i'll look into....
it was/is really nice here, but i didn't ride today:(. my legs are a tad sore from this past weekends' riding. i'll get an easy ride in tomorrow, preping for intervals on wednesday. my buddy is trying to talk me into riding with him tomorrow, but i just have too much work to do and can't take the time off right now:(. that's too bad, as it's going to be in the mid 70's tomorrow!!!!

Does anyone make fixie hubs in silver for cheap?:D
Truing is not all that hard, if it is just a minor wobble. I do mine on teh bike with the brake pads as guides. Best tip I ever got on truing was to think of the nipple as a screw and turn the spoke wrench the same way you would a screwdriver to tighten or loosen. Find the spoke you want to adjust, hold it and bring it to a position so that you would be looking down at that spoke head if the tire was off teh rim. That visual really helped me remember which way to turn.
I can get a wheel true side to side, it is when it has a hop in it that I have to turn to the pros.

thanks jeff. guess i need a spoke tool now:rolleyes:
man...i'm really bummed/sad now after reading about Sheldon. what a bummer. :(
Does anyone make fixie hubs in silver for cheap?:DFormula. Sold as Formula, or rebranded by all kinds of companies. IRO sells a set for $75. I seem to remember seeing a set of Formulas for cheaper, so you may want to look around.

Thanks X:)
Currently trying to wear out (unsuccessfully) one of the half grown cats - little petite little cat is a "fetchy" kitty. However, I'm getting tired of tossing the ball ...
And brought a complex job home to do for work - so that I can have quiet time to do it and get a headstart on tomorrow...
But first some foo and ... and she's back with that dam ball and she's pawing at my toes.
:D 'scuse me a moment ..

I fragged my back at work last week and thought things were better after a weekend of rest...
It would seem that I thought wrong...
I'll be doing everything I can to see that I am on that plane on Thursday morning as I need to be where my heart is.

Morning Foo.
Been busy house hunting lately, I think I might have found "my" place, I just need to figure out if I can afford it.
And I have to take a few days off assorted exercising/climbing, managed to really hurt my right arm (in the shoulder/elbow) climbing Saturday :( Hopefully it stops acting up soon and I can resume getting ready for bike season. Though, given the finances I'm looking at to afford the place I want I won't be racing much this summer.
Good morning Foo! Really need to get up and finish getting ready for work and get off to the office. Just checking in to see how everyone is going this Tuesday morning. It's been raining here, but the last forecast I saw says it may clear up and move off by the time I get off work. Might just be able to squeeze another short ride in! Only a few days till NAHBS, and 2 days after I get home from Portland I'll be going in for some minor surgery which will put me off the bike for 3-4 weeks. So I'm trying to grab any miles I can!

Why do they not respect me? I stepped down for a reason!!! I DO NOT WANT TO BE A MANAGER!!!!!!!! Why do they give me management duties??? "Oh just help us out just for this one day. Well it's two days a week now, isn't it? Grrrr.

Aww, that sucks Siu :( Hopefully they'll listen to you sooner rather than later.
Made it in to the office in the land-boat my dealership lent me yesterday (apparently replacing the motor for a window is a complicated two day job so the dealership still has my car), and I'm remembering why I don't like driving automatics. But coffee should be ready soon, that will make everything better :)

Morning Foo!
Just looking for some routes that I can go do some climbing on before the Burnsville Metric. I've got 3 areas to go to before the end of April. Yay! It's a love/hate relationship with me & climbing:)
Going to get some sort of ride in at lunch too...either an interval session or z3 ride...depends on how I feel after the warm up. With mid 70's for the high today, wish I could take the afternoon off and go ride!
Morning Foo. Drinking coffee and wishing I could horse whip the truck driver in Tom's thread. Wishing I had some raisin bran or some such at the office.

I feel your pain Siu. When I was working retail I took over the Customer Service desk one day because the normal person went home sick. I had 20 minutes of impromptu training by someone who was ill and got let loose. That started almost 2 years of nearly constant rotation in the position. I knew I should have taken it as a compliment that they didn't want to lose me at CS, but damn did I hate it.
Morning Foo. Morning jsharr. Coinkeedink, I have some rasin bran right here in front of me. I'm sending the carrier slug off now. You can thank me next month.
Wait, coinkeedink number two!! I ALSO have a horse whip in my office. I will send that one by carrier student.
morning eboo. checked the doodle thread yet today? nudge nudge wink wink

Just making plans to go and get the damage report.
Hope it is a just a loose screw or something easily fixed SixtyFiver. Is your spine Campy or Shimano btw?
Sixty Fiver
02-05-08, 10:08 AM
My spine is vintage, like my bikes... it's probably a Sturmey Archer.
Might be time for an upgrade. Hope it all works out for you and you can make Cuda buy you a beer in Portland.

Back from my intervals. Rode in bibs and ss jersey today! It was 70 degrees! How can intervals last week be so effortless and today be so painful? Can 10 ave. watts more be all that much? Maybe I was just fatigued having to deal with the heat?
We need to put you on a heat acclimation regimen before April!
