I've seen 3 movies in 3 days. Nacho Libre, Pirates of the Caribbean II and Superman Returns in that order. I'm popcorned out.

Just got back from a 200+ mile, 4-day epic ride to clear my mind.
1 crash and a nasty road rash, 4 cups of coffee, 4 stir-fry and steamed veggie/chicken meals, 5 premium beers, a new bike build started, and one Moo-Moo Mr. Cow later, and I'm feelin' pretty good, if a bit tired. Time to surf the web.:)

HEy there Blondie! Take care of that leg girl! :-) Big hug :-)
Got up early made myself some starbucks and some breakfast. Took my brother Mt Biking and did 10 miles there. Some good single track and plenty of mud today. Had some lunch, came home, showered all the dirt off myself, grabbed some fresh water bottles and did 25 miles on the road bike. Got invited to a party tonight, leaving in a little bit. See ya'll later. :-)

Oops, I though Full Squishy was a Kona. Which one is that one? Also, why do you have a Trek Navigator? I used to build them and I think they suck.

The full squish is the evil Cake. (Well not really, I'm just afraid of it, long story).
I got the Trek as the bike to ride when my back is acting up. I have a bulging disc. It gets me out and about and makes it possible for me to ride when it hurts too much to get on the mtn bike. It's good for what I need it for. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to ride when my back is putting me out.
Getting ready to purchase a Super Duper Full Squishy!! Shop opens at 10am ... don't want to seem too eager ... I'll get there at hmmm 10:03?
10:03 is still chomping at the bit. I'd make it 10:06...gives you the vibe of "I'll walk out if the deal ain't right". ;)
Goodmorning all, finally the sun has shown its face today. YIKES two days no sun, but I manage to get a run in and a 17mile ride in yesterday.
Back to work so they say, off to go eat some oatmeal. Have a great week everyone!!!

Blondie +1 to what Stacey said. :D Big hug. And for me, it's happy, because I'm off this week. Gatta go to the bank in a few, run a few errands, then out to ride 30 to 40 minutes worth of intervals. :)
When I hurt my leg this winter, I used my resistance bands and did all kinds of upper body exercises while sitting just to feel like I did "something" while I could ride or run etc... It helped. Hang in there.:)
Hope everyone else has a great day. P.S. the world cup is finally over! yay!!

Morning all. I'm waiting for the caffeine to kick in. I'm worried that it has kicked in, but I'm too tired to notice. My new bullhorns are at the shop waiting for me so I'll probably pick them up tomorrow along w/ some handlebar tape. Should be fun since I can slap my extra Avid brake lever on it and swap between risers and bull horns w/ minimal effort. Just gotta keep moving the computer mount and bell when I swap.
SBW: that Dawg Deluxe looks like fun. Can I have a ride?

Didn't you just have to sell one a while back? Just make sure you can really afford it and that you have no better use for the money before jumping into this. But if you can afford it...
I'd go with the 303's. If you're going to be in an area where you're climbing regularly, you'd probably prefer slightly lighter wheels over slightly more aero wheels. But then, I'm highly biased toward a lightweight climbing setup.
Getting through a Monday. Two first year grad students are starting today, so their energy and enthusiasm should help others in the lab (including me) regain some energy and enthusiasm ourselves. And dreaming about a climbing bike since dog hair and I were chatting away about the possibilities on our ride yesterday. Imagine... a Cervelo R3 with full Campy Record Carbon and CarbonSports Lightweight wheels. I can't afford it, but it doesn't cost anything to dream.

I've been seeing a lot of Cervelos lately. I can't tell if they're the aluminum or carbon ones, but I'm thinking either they're really good bikes that justify the price or people buy them cuz everyone else has them.
If I were getting my dream bike today, there's a good chance it would be a Cervelo. The big question would be do I get a Soloist Carbon (ultra-aero, ultra-stiff, ultra-light, ultra-expensive), or do I try to shave a bit of time off my climbs by getting a R3 (even lighter by sacrificing aero)? While I'm dreaming of the impossible, why not get one of each? :D

My SOCOM clan won $50,000, remember?
My cut was $11,000, after taxes.
$2300 of that went towards my GF's bike, the rest is for me.
The only better use I can think of is ending world hunger, but people are already working on that.

Trick question. They'd have to match. Whatever you do, make sure the Powertap is highly visible.

One of the other commuters in the building just stopped by my office and let me know I left my cyclocomp on my bike. He took it and gave it to the security desk for safe keeping. He's also the only other commuter that commutes on a fixie.

Yes, I remember. I'm just saying... blowing that much on a toy (which a nice bike essentially is) shouldn't be done lightly. I would hate to see you have to sell another one of your bikes in a few months.
As for the Zipps, aren't you a weight weenie? Just pick the 303's already.

But I gots to have the AERO!!!!1
They look real good with the frame, and they match the colour.
1250 grams for the tubular fitment is pretty weenie-ish.
So how much aero and how much weight weenie? Is this going to be primarily a climbing bike? If so, go with the 303's. Otherwise, 404's are plenty light.
Or cut back on cost elsewhere and get a set of each. :D

From a while ago:
I think I just clowned myself on eBay.
Explanation, please. I'm confused.
Bought a Polaroid 360 land camera. Since this is only the 3rd or 4th item on ebay I've bought in 5 years, I get kinda screwed up on how it takes bids. So I ended up paying too much for it. Not a big deal since it ended up at $40 plus it has an accessory that is somewhat difficult to track down on its own.
So I finally picked it up at the post office today. Everything seems to be in order, except that it didn't come with the flash charger. A closer inspection of the auction reveals that there was none offered. Clowning #2. So now I have to find one on ebay. Not expensive, just a pain in the ass.
But, anyway, enough whining. I got a "new" camera and 2 film packs. I'm gonna go screw around with it after work while I have some good, bright light. Should be fun. I'll maybe even get a real photo of myself to put in the picture thread.
Just gotta figure out what out-dated batteries this thing takes.

There isn't much climbing to do in Rochester, so I would like to have the aero.
But Boulder is only a few months away, so the 303's might be of help.
The 303's weigh about 1130 grams, so the weight savings aren't much.
I could also sell my internal organs and buy a house, but that's not going to happen.

Of course you may, Jyo! You have to promise not to treat it like a baby......
Think long term. 303's, baby. Plus, at higher elevations, aero isn't as important since the air's thinner. 100-odd grams isn't much, but there's few places on a bike where you can cut out that much weight in one fell swoop. (Assuming, of course, you've already spec'd pretty light components.)
