Hey congrats on the Bianchi jyoss! Bianchi's are nice.
Last week I rode by a complete Univega road bike (metallica blue) in the bulky waste pile in someone's front yard. I was on my bike at the time and like 15 miles from home, so I finsihed my ride, showered and went back and yep...the bike was gone. I've been wanting to find another bike used to restore, but have to many "wants" when it comes to bikes. I really want a project one Madone SL, but at $5,000...it'll have to wait a bit longer. I'm a bike addict...I admit it....someone help me!!:p
Someone should start a new thread... "Who 'chu doing?"

I got a job today!!!!!!
Im working at a specialty foods store/houseware store. I start next tuesday.
Im pretty damn excited! :D
Congrats! Sounds like a job I'd be dangerous at. Me and food we have a love/hate relationship. I love to eat it and I hate to work it off!:p
jyo, did I miss something about you buying a new bike?
hi565, congrats on your new job.
I just finished 90 minutes of processing spectroscopic data that demonstrated that none of the three compounds of interest are of any use to me. ARGH! Okay, time to do my consulting work, then call it a night.
I'm just vegging at my desk, completely dazed and out of it. Okay, time to drag myself home.
PFGS asked me today (by e-mail) how my research is going. Umm, I don't think I should answer that. If I answer honestly, I just might manage to scare an aspiring scientist away from grad school. :p
I'm wearing shorts that I haven't been able to get into for four year. Yep, lost that much weight!
NOTE TO OTHERS: It's not advisable to follow my weight loss program. (40 pounds plus in two months)
I just kicked Heinrich I's ass back to the 12th century.
After 2 years of infrequently playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein, I fianlly completed the game. Very anti-climactic, worse than the original DOOM.
Any reccomendations for a good FPS on PS2?

Finally got my Straight razor!
Sadly, I have been unable to find a reaosnably sized and priced strop for personal use...so I can't use it yet :(
I did give the shaving brush and soap a test run using my old mach3 razor....I tell you what, I forgot how good a brush full of lather feels, and how much of a difference it makes for a shave. The brush and soap was well worth the $6 :)
What kind of soap is it?

Just finished breakfast. I slept late today (9:30 am). Patiently waiting and hoping the roads will dry out a bit, so (A) I can actually ride my new bike today... and (B) will be able to ride the TT race tonight. Arrgh! I hate rain when I'm on vacation.

It's not a new bike, but it's new to me. Derailleurs and cables need adjustment/replacement so I haven't ridden it yet although I kept eyeing it last night in spite of the t-storms we were having. I also put bullhorns on my fixie and I have to say I did a crappy mess of the handlebar tape so I'll re-do it when I get some electrical tape. Haven't ridden today cuz I had to go to a diff. work location where I've been busy all day. I miss my bikes.

Yay for new jobs and new bikes! Congrats, guys!
I'm sitting here at work really wishing I had a cup of coffee with honey in it. I'll probably have to settle for black. I have an apple in my bag that is calling to me. My pants are still rolled up from riding my bike to work and it looks funny. :p

Waiting on some stuff I need to do my work.
Gonna go have lunch with my brother (Thai!).
Scratching my ear.
Figuring out how long the bike trail I rode for the first time lastnight is. Trying to find out where the rest of it is. Apparently it goes to a lake north of town. I'd like to go camping there by bike at least once before the summer is gone. There's also a bluegrass festival at that lake soonish. That'd be a good time to try out the camping. Gonna have to get some clip-on racks for my bike, however.
Trying to figure out why I ruined a perfectly good bike ride lastnight by smoking a couple cigarettes afterward.
Scratching my ________.
I need to buy new clothes. I've worn this shirt twice this week.
I found a dead brown recluse by laundry this morning.
Pissed off at something. Haven't figured out what, yet.
Just ate an apple. It was good.

Brown recluse? EEEEEEEK!
Aren't those things horribly poisonous? I'd be doing a huge search of my house to get those things out of there! I do, however have a tremendous phobia.
I want to go camping too.

They're the ONLY spider I kill. I won't even kill a black widow.
If I remember correctly, their venom is a digestive enzime that slowly starts eating away at your flesh. It's not so much the venom that poses a threat to your life, but the resulting infection that comes from this big, gaping hole in your skin that the bite creates.
This is the 3rd I've found since moving in my apartment ~2 years ago, which is good considering the area I live in and that I'm in the basement which houses years and years of yard equipment and junk that renters have left behind. When I lived in Missouri with my family, we had an infestation. I can spot these bastards from across the room, now.
Time to go through my apartment and pick everything up off the floor (I'm bad about leaving clean laundry in a pile by my bed).

What kind of soap is it?
William's "mug" shaving soap. I went for the cheap and readily availible stuff.
Same for the brush, it was some boar bristle job that I got at the Walgreen's. Pretty uch everyshaving brush out there uses boar bristle, or badger hair....the majority of the companies only shear the animals though....no point in killing an animal for it's hair.
Just throw the soap into an old mug or bowl you don't use (I bought a brushed metal cotton bowl with lid from target for this), and then wet the brush about halfway up with hot water..whisk it around in a circular motion on top of the soap until suds appear, and apply to your face with a circular motion. Make sure your face is freshly cleaned with hot water beforehand...that way your pores are open, which helps greatly in comfort.
I shaved last night around 9pm, and over 14 hours later, I was still getting compliments on my "clean shave"...I didn't expect that. I guess once I get it down well enough to do it in the mornings, I will really be looking good.

With the going price of badger hair brushes ($45-300, depending on quality of brush, and the type of badger hair used), they gotta at least make decent money. It's the guys who shave boars that probably make jack....$4-30 brushes....

You kill kittens but not spiders, eh? ;) Black widows probably scare me the most, seeing as how I don't think I've seen a brown recluse. I have an unreasonable fear of most spiders though. My family was driving in the mountains one day and we came across a tarantula in the road! I couldn't get near it and everytime it moved I screamed. I don't know why I'm so scared of them, but I am!!! I hope you can get rid of them if there are any left, pup!

Kittens are evil incarnate.
One day during the fall I was driving from Texas to the Oklahoma City area and took the backroads since I wasn't in a hurry. Apparently it was tarantula migration because there were thousands and thousands of these things crossing the road. I wanted to grab one or two but didn't have anything to keep them in. Felt pretty bad running these things over.

That would be enough to send me into shock. I think I would probably faint. I'm not a wimp about most things but when it comes to big hair spiders, well **** I'm like a baby.

Yeah spiders scare the hell out of me...but I hae gotten better at dealing with them....a taranula would drive me into a bug-killing ramapge....I would probably end up destroying everything in a half block radius.
...last time someone threw a spider down my shirt, I ended up charging into a wall hard enough to break through it. My body may break, but dangit, that spider will die!

I know...I think there must be something wrong with me, because being the human female that I am, I have absolutely no "mother" instincts when it comes to human babies. I really just want them to stay away from me. To me, they get much cuter when they start being more independant!

Hypothetically, I agree to a certain extent. But I'm not sure it would be such a good idea to hand over the development of humankind to a bureaucracy. If I were in charge, on the other hand...

Yeah I don't think its something I would want to force on others, but it is a nice fantasy. I just see some people who have kid after kid who really really shouldn't. Yes, people. There is such a thing as birth control.
I'm trying to plan a paintball event in the Poconos (PA). Everyone tells me they're interested.....then when I send out the Evite, I only get 8 commited....sigh.
I need at least 20 (10 vs 10) so we can get our own field, judges & games.
