Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Want me to kiss it and make it better? :D
Suddenly this thread gets interesting.
I don't know what I'm doing today. Ask me later.

We just started neutral territory introductions of the two little hairless girls to some of the colony members they will be moving in with on Saturday. Things went remarkably well.
It's so cool when the new rats find out that there are other, older rats here.
So is there a King or Queen rat that keeps the others in check or is it more a communial group?
So is there a King or Queen rat that keeps the others in check or is it more a communial group?
There's an Alpha male & female in each colony, and the female is usualy MORE Alpha because they tend to be more territorial. An older more established colony is, for the most part, very sedate and communial... they love to pile up in the hammocks, But when some rowdy yougster are introduced they'll patiently tolerate the shenanigans for a while then just open up some whoop-ass an pin the yo'un on its back and lay down the law.
Then there's always the occasional non-alpha female who has to be the constant bully, harassing the new kid in to fearful submission. Soon, in about a week, the new kid finds its place in the colony and becomes part of the family.
It's never really the same twice, but always interesting to see how the dynamics work out.
EDIT: Here's four in a hammock. I've seen up to 10 in this hammock!

That's cool. You don't really ever get to see that kind of dynamic with most pets.
Are they friendly enough to handle?

 Heh, you are pretty darn good at messing with me, you knwo that? :p
I'm watching the Tour and digesting my breakfast. Looking foward to a day off with NO ride, gonna clean my house a bit, then enjoy a movie and play my guitars...aaaahhhhh. :)
Peace and Love, Foosters.

I'm watching Bargain Hunt and catching up on BF postings. Gonna go to bed soon. Sleepy....
Just like any animal, they all have their own disposition. But generally speaking yes, even the reclusive ones will let you pet them, they just would prefer not to leave the security of the cage. Some of them are so outgoing they actually 'ask' to come out. Seldom do I spend an evening watching TV without a rat cozied up with me in the chair.
How's this for friendly? :)

Holy crap. Do you think I'd be able to train one to eat the food between my teeth? I don't really like flossing.

 That's what she was doing. Sometimes she would go in up to her shoulders to get bits out of my molars. Some rats love to 'give kisses' most don't, again its all on the personality
Rats are great 'low maintainence' pets. Clean their cages once a week, feed them, give them some attention and keep them healthy. No having to walk them in the rain, or clean up poop from the yard, no smelly litter box to tend to.
If you're seriously interested in keeping rats as pets, drop me a PM. I'll be glad to share the six years of knowlege I've accumulated. Some of it painfully.

My Great Subway Dilema:
There are two Subway sandwich shop(pe)s close to work. One is a little further away, but not so much that it's inconvenient.
Far Shop(pe): Two stoner-frat-boys working the counter. Can't remember anything more than 5 seconds. Store owner gives me the stink-eye every time I enter because I always either order the daily special or the veggie sandwich ($2.70 after tax!). However, they load the **** out of my sandwiches. They can barely even close them. They have to use a vise!
Close Shop(pe): "Manned" by two very cute young women. Know me by name. I usually don't even have to say what I'm ordering. Good small talk. Flirting. And so on. Barely put anything on the freaking sandwiches. Skimp on everything. Makes me sad. And my belly empty by 3:00. I hate having to ask for extra every time I go in.
These are the two fronts in the war in my mind. This is what keeps me up at night. Stoners and good sandwiches or cute women and an empty belly. I've gone into therapy for it. I don't know if I have the strength to hold out. My mind is about to break...

Eatin's all about the food... go to the stoners.
OH THE DI-LEMONS! I'm with Stacy.....go to the stoners. A little stink-eye is worth a full belly.
EDIT Of course, I just glanced at the time and just know that you knew what I was gonna say and acted accordingly. We Goth Powerpuff Girls can be awfully mean if not obeyed.
I still don't know what I'm doing. Stuff, I guess. Yes- stuff.

first of all just how cute are the cute girls? If they are flat out hot, a little more flirting will get you that fat sandwich you want and you have it all then. If the girls are so so and flirting more is going to get you banned, stick with the stoners.
Long live the $3 lunch.......

Work late, but squeezed in 15 miles after work before it got dark. Grabbed a Quiznos sub, showered, set up plans for my fourth date with someone special. And now I'm checking Bike Forums.
Glad to see someone's relationship is developing well.
Long day at work. (Another 3 hours to go tonight. Pretty relaxed work, but it takes time.) Between lots of long days and watching the Tour coverage, I'll have trouble getting any riding in this week. Not good seeing as Saturday's the long group ride. Oh well, whatever...

When I worked at Wendy's I had some real nightmare stories....to this day, i will only eat the chili at very select places.
For fun with newb cashiers, try to order a biggie frostie, or a veggie burger. Veggie burger is a Jr. Cheese deluxe without meat or cheese, and a biggie frostie is rang up as two large frosties...large cup is 16oz, biggie cup is 32oz (a frickin liter o frosty!). Most places vary on how to ring up veggie burgers....at the one I worked at, it was rang up as two cheeses...50c....now they are I think 75c, which is a damn ripoff. I loved those things for cheap fillings when they were 50c...buy three for a buck fifty, and you are good for a few hours.
