Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm about to go and have fish and lentil pie for tea and then decide what to do with my Saturday night.
Option 1: Go see Batman, by myself.
Option 2: Stay at home and surf the interwebs.
My, I have an exiting life.
Feeling tired from doing a easy 50km ride. On the way home I picked up a slow puncture, and because my pump sucked, couldn't get the tyre hard enough. Riding into a headwind with a half-flat tyre is very good resistance training.

Actually, when I was leaving South Africa, some "friends" of mine threw a surprise party for me. Thing is (and I kid you not!), nobody thought to invite me, so about an hour into it, I got a call saying that there's a party in my honour and everyone thought someone else was bringing me. I couldn't attend, but I heard it was a great party! :twitchy:

sucked ???!
Did you buy a northern-hemisphere pump??!
:innocent:

Did you buy a northern-hemisphere pump??!
:innocent:
No, a cheap one. It didn't have a proper O-ring between the piston and cylinder. I brought a new pump on the way home and it is much better.

No, a cheap one.
I was referring to the fact that it sucked the air out of your tyres instead of pushing the air into them ... given you're in the Southern Hemisphere, perhaps the one you had was upside down. :roflmao2:
Not really nearly as funny when one has to explain :o

Sweet russian cakes, these are pretty good, and I'm drinking tea (which is shocking, I'm such a coffee girl...). Yeah, I've been out of it for a while. But I'm always glad to drop in when I can.:)

You must be keeping busy, which is usually a good thing. :) I don't think I've ever had Russian food. Sounds interesting. :)
Just repacked my aerodynamically-ergonomically-effin squished in softsided suitcase cause I forgot where I put my money. :notamused:
Note to self: Never pack when imbibing.
But I did good - in this softsided thing (oh yeah - it was "purchased" with coupons from MARLBORO packs - thanks to Mom and the many people who smoke at the bars - kinda cool - it's red and says MARLBORO on it - but hey - it works!) - I have a small seat (that has a insulated thing underneath should I fell like putting a few beers there), a small sleeping bag, warm blanket and clothes. In my camelbak is my food. While the others are bicycling (I'm not dragging my bike and bike stuff and everything but a tent on a bus) - I will be hiking.
Woot!!1
Leaving in a couple hours to go meet 4-5 other forumites from bicycyling.com at a Triathlon where one of them is racing Sunday - and I'm working the race as a race marshall - and GARNERING MORE COWBELLS!!
Yes, I collect racing cowbells!!
And if you have a stray one you don't want ..... pass it on to meeeeeee!!!!!!
:)
But anyway - I'm off to the store. All my flashlights are in storage :twitchy: and I will definitely need one at the campground.

Wow, sounds like a blast, Tude. Have fun! :D
Thanks! It should be a good time - it was last year too! This year - in addition to two HUMOUNGOUS rotties - will be at least 5 children - 3 of them my friend's (and the guy who's racing in the Tri) - and I pointed out that they can "work" the race too (helping hands at the finish line - water, etc) - and I think they will be working it (guess they liked the t-shirt too - which will be rather nice as their father is racing).
K - found money - (darn it - I was way too smart last night and put it in the small key/money pocket in my camelbak)!
Killing time until tomorrow. I was supposed to go to Muncie today but because catch 22s (read as I'm ready but everyone else is dragging ass) we're going on Sunday morning instead of this morning. It's killing me.

Ugh, I've never been able to finish a whole voodoo donut.

There's a frosted maple bar with bacon on it, but I've never seen chocolate chip cookies on the menu (http://voodoodoughnut.com/).

I am sitting on the couch with my new wheels while eating Dark Chocolate Coated Pretzels from Stevers (http://www.steverscandy.com/) and watching the 2002 WCP Tour de France DVD.
My wheels like chocolate.

Feeling pretty good... the girls and I are about to head out for the evening and will be festing all day tomorrow.
I am going to be a tired butterfly herder by the time tomorrow is over as I was up all night working on a little build and when I say little... I really mean it.

I am trying to relieve the agony of having burns on my feet.
Burning magnesium is hot. Really hot.
Burning magnesium is hot. Really hot.
What the hell did you do?
Sorry you got hurt.
I just got back from night two of Lollapalooza. So far, the performers are alright. I've enjoyed Radiohead (yesterday) and Explosions in the Sky (today). Tomorrow is NINE INCH NAILS which I'm totally excited to see. Another bonus from this weekend, I'm getting some color (as in a tan). :)
Ugh, I've never been able to finish a whole voodoo donut.
Had a Grape Ape there at the shop, followed a while later w/ a Voodoo brought home (after a stop to worship at the Temple of Powell's) . In my heyday, I would've thrown that down and looked for more. (Former Donut Rally Champion :D)
But now, I just stumbled off looking a little woozy. :o
Would this be the same place that has chocolate chip cookies with icing and bacon?
As Donna said, it's a maple bar. Makes more sense (Maple bacon = breakfast donut!) in a twisted kind of way. Chocolate chip cookies, I'm not sure I saw. There are at least a couple with crumbled up Oreo cookies tho'. And more than a few with some sort of breakfast cereal on top.
Heinous, but tasty nonetheless. :D Way more inspired that the usual dry crumbly donut.

You mean a tan...right?
Aww, I was hoping for tie-dye, face paint, and a green mohawk.
There were some people with that at the music festival.
Taking my 30 minute lunch, right in the middle of my 12.5h night shift. It's warm and peaceful out there. Shame I didn't bring my bike... I could use the empty parking lot for a few intervals.
It's 6:15 in the morning and I've got 45 minutes to go of work. I'm on a break killing time. Nothing to do... Been a busy night though.
Still waiting on ass draggers. Think I'll get pulled over if I have someone hog tied to the hood?
Sixty Fiver

We used to tie people to the hood for fun but with gas prices the way they are you probably don't want that extra drag killing the mileage... :)

raced this morning! top 10 finish, so just chilling out for now. oh and still slowly unpacking....
I just got back from the last day of Lollapalooza. Nine Inch Nails was amazing. Totally made my weekend and month.
Rode ~165 miles, with ~10,000 feet of climbing, over the past three days. Had a great time, and feeling pretty good physically. I wish I could do another big mountain ride tomorrow, but work calls.
Hi ms.gio :)

Just winding down after spending the day with my daughters at the Heritage Festival which is the biggest multi cultural festival on the planet.
85 countries were represented and all were offering great food, entertainment, and traditional goods in as many pavilions... we dined on Greek, Italian, and Indian food today and enjoyed a huge range of music and entertainment and I might even go back tomorrow for more.
I believe that they expect 400,000 people to attend the festival over the long weekend.
