Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Man, for the cost of a KTM, it better be plated in gold :p
Actually, they are super nice bikes. I just can't ever see paying the money for one. It's like BMW, sweet bikes, but oh so pricey...
Suppose it runs in the family-here's Dad's ride:p

I'm considering an enduro. Used to ride motorcross years ago. Sort of miss that gear head thing.
The 450X is supposed to be awesome.
What did you ride?
I'm looking at my Akido schedule for the fall. I'm pumped.

I started on an XR100, then I rode a KX-80 big wheel (bored out to 105..of course..LOVED that little bike), and I had a KDX200 as my last ride. The 200 was a bit big for my frame size.

I love my XR100R...even if it won't run. :(.
I've always wanted to try a KDX200 but I'm too young to have seen them new.

How's the battery? and the plug is a good thing to check too.

Gets spark-I can see it when the plug is out of the hole-and there's some compression, according to the age-old method of putting my finger over the spark plug hole while I kick the starter. I'll do a compression test and get a number later on.
And yes, I put gas in it...

You seem smart enought, that I was just joking around, but I honestly know people who have sold vehicles that don't start because of a lack of gas...

Oh, trust me, I'd do that...:o. I have a short attention span sometimes...
I also gave it plenty of kicks to run the gas through the carb, too, so I don't think that's it. The carb is getting gas as well.

The only KTM I'd be interested in, the Grand Duke, or Duke Supreme, or whatever it's called:

being tired. knee is in a bit o' pain-- too much running? too much cycling?
nah, never. I'll toughen through it.
Did a brick workout today- got rained inside for the cycle today, based on my HRM I'd say I burned nearly 100 more calories inside than I wold have outside today... and then went for a 2-mile run in the great outdoors.
yay, brick.
It's usually not so bad when I'm calling a business, or talking to someone I don't know....Or when you've had a few... :P
Oh, I'm so glad this day is finally over. A haiku that popped to mind about eleven hours into my work day:
"Urge to kill rising,
Urge to kill rising some more.
Urge to kill rising."
Have been over in the commuter area - <squint> inputting my many years of advice only to realize the poster is still going to wear this bmx kinda non vent thing as a commuter helmet and another is going to stick with their ... milk crate. And I think my choice of more expensive headlight was flambeyed down to a humorous flashlight affair.
I ... I .... have failed here tonite.

Dam it, I MEAN I'M SOOOO GLAD YOU GOT HOME!!!
Reluctantly have .23's armedillos on my roadbike - front wheel cause I needed a sturdy long distance for a long ride and my tire was iffy - and I like kevlar and <sniff> I ABSOLUTELY HATE THE RED RIMS ARMIDILLO has but that's me. Meant to ditch the tire and keep it as a spare for next years long distance touring I'm doing but --- needed the back tire and so front and back armidillos.
I still do NOT like the red rims on them - but I have not had a problem with them since I put them on. Have doubts though about the minimal to no tread design they have and, am not in good trust with them, since I seem to - this year - have been getting into riding into gully washers and I really don't like my nearly slick type of tires.
Meh.
Just me.

My dear Tude, you do realize it's physically impossible to hydroplane a roadbike tire, and that the "tread" is there for mere decoration...right?

There is so little of a 700x23 in contact with the road that 'tread' is really going to make that much difference if you're caught in a monsoon. Mountain bike - yeah, but on a road bike the grooves are more there as a selling point - I think I read this on Sheldon Brown but I'm not entirely sure of the source and I'm too lazy too look it up right now.
Armadillos are great tires, but it is rather like coating your rims with cement when you put them on :) Where you live, I've heard there are potholes that could swallow a classic VW microbus without a trace.
