Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Ms. Gio, rest is what you need now young lady!
ms.gio :( unless you can't walk (in which case you should probably figure it out now) make an appointment for a doctor visit tomorrow...I can walk just fine. I tried to do some light stretches before taking the hot shower which kind of helped. Two things that I noticed while stretching was that when I was doing a back bend as well as bringing my right knee to my chest my hip (more my right than left) felt odd.
No more exercising or stretching for the time being. Take Motrin (anti-inflammatory) and rest. Sounds like you overdid it this evening.(check)
I have a patented Full Body, but I'm not sure you need that right now...
Ms. Gio, rest is what you need now young lady!Yes, dad.... ;) :)
The thing is that tonight wasn't even my "hard" night . Tonight was my "easy" night. I was on the bike for not even 10 minutes in a rather low gear then this happens... I don't know if my seat is too low or if my knees aren't aligned or what.

Are you in pain or just uncomfortable? Did you stretch or warm up before?

I've popped my hips a few times, but it's always been a pleasant experience, not painful. I also can't say that I've ever gotten hip pain from riding. Are you sure it isn't something else, that riding just happened to make worse?
Just remember the acronym R.I.C.E. rest, ice, compression, elevation...Changing that to BRICE couldn't hurt.

Oh, and as for what I'm doing... The X-Files episode "Humbug" is one of the greatest 45 minutes of television ever.

You could change it, but I'm not sure why brocolli would help

I'm not even sure what "brocolli" is. Is that how you say "beer" in some foreign language?

If I miss working out I do that sometimes when doing side kicks. It's uncomfy at first but after a couple of hours it goes away. It's just my joints getting aligned again. :)
Someone didn't eat their veggies when they were a child. jk.I still don't! But I know how to spell them. ;)
Listening to Christina Aguilera. What. the. hell.

 great minds think alike. So does one great mind and one extremely stupid, weak one...:p
No really it's my girlfriends, I borrowed it for jogging at the track.
Why would I have "sexy back", christina aguilera and a bunch of 80s tracks on my ipod?
Actually.. nevermind.
 great minds think alike. So does one great mind and one extremely stupid, weak one...:p/high five.
Pheard, you know I'm kidding with you. ;) :)
On that note, I'm going to try and get some sleep. I have to force myself to sleep on my back for I usually sleep on my side. Good night and pleasant dreams everyone. Buona notte. Ciao.

we need to bring back the "what do you sound like" thread...so we can hear Gio laugh
 That was from last year around the end of July. I remember posting my voice clip and a lot of people thought i sounded like a news reporter from NPR.
From what I have been told I have a contagious laugh.
 great minds think alike. So does one great mind and one extremely stupid, weak one...:pIt's not nice to try to make yourself feel better by disparaging others, jerk*.

Mornin' Foo. It's bathroom cleaning day for me... My own and my little kitty's. Then, it's off to school to take the test and buy some books and crap. Starting next Monday, I'll be a college student again...
I don't know how the hell I'm going to commute to work from school without a car during the winter... I guess I have a little time to try and work this out. Won't be able to ride the motorcycle. Tried it last year and it was a really stupid idea.
For those who are thinking bike commute, it is 36 miles one way... which by itself isn't bad but I don't think I'd make it there before closing :o

Update on the new BF jersey design...the proof they sent looks good so there will be no delay in the ordering process.
So place an order...I plan on closing it on Sept 5th...maybe plus a week (need a bunch more orders). This is not the Foo jersey...go to Group Buy or General cycling for the 2008 Bikeforums.net jersey ordering threads.
Hey mirona...missed you at CBM this year.

Morning foo !!
Slept in a little, turned the commute into a 10 km TT, and am making some coffee here at the best little bike shop in Canuckistan... it has actually cooled down enough to make coffee a viable beverage choice.
Hope everyone's day in splendiferous.
Hey Foo. /wave
My hips feel alright in comparison to how they felt yesterday. I made sure to sleep on my back which seemed to help (I usually sleep on my side). Although, while walking my left hip felt odd/uncomfortable. Now, I have NO IDEA what's going on.
I hope everyone has a better day than what I have been experiencing.

Glad your feeling a little better, ms.gio. REST REST and more REST
How's your dad doing, Shadiyah?
Hey Shadiyah. I hope your dad is feeling better.
UA, I think I'm going to stay off the trainer for a bit and just rest.

Hey guys. Sorry about the sore hips, Gio! I always find that slow, rhythmic motions help out with soreness in the hip area, but I'm not sure exactly what you're feeling. I'm talking about dancing too, all ya pervs out there. ;) Hip circles, figure eights, even shimmies; that sort of thing. Stretching helps too. Maybe try some hip opening yoga moves?
My dad wasn't doing any better when we went to see him yesterday, but he wasn't doing any worse. While we were there the occupational therapists came in and got him to put on his own socks and brush his own teeth. They then stood him up and helped him to walk around the room. He still can't swallow completely, unfortunately and it looks as though he will be able to get up and move around before he can swallow.

My hips always bug me... I probably just need a good dancing partner.
Heather - I hope that things go well for your dad.

Try half pigeon (http://www.ehow.com/how_2178291_do-half-pigeon-yoga-position.html). It's great for opening up the hips.

It sounds like a little progress, Shadiyah. Breathing on his own will come and being able do things for himself will be a huge motivator. Sending happy thoughts your way :D
