Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm finishing up lunch (chicken tikka masala) and cruising BF.
*sigh* No thought of sharing at all. *sigh* I had a stackable (that's weirdly rounded meat with crackers, cheese and a Kit-Kat). Just working - yes, that's what I'm doing - working - and dreaming of being an ant in Jyo's house.

Hey Foosters!
Got out of work early today, had a quick eye doctor appointment, now I'm taking a short nap before I'm off to the next to last club Time Trial race at 6 pm. Trying to figure out my budget for the Lancaster, PA trip/ride next weekend also.
Hope you are all doing well!

*sigh* Now I want to be an ant in your kitchen. That sounds seriously good - well, except the ham - but still. *sigh*
Thought I'd drop in on Foo since I've been mostly in the roadie forum recently. Eating lunch right now.

Sounds good. My lunch is fish & chips, and a Sundae Cone.
I had ham and cheese on whole wheat, and a pickle. working AND surfing BF. thinking about getting me a candy bar from the machine.

I just went to 2 different LGS's looking for a picatinny mount for a sling swivel and a picatinny mount for a 1" flashlight. Nobody had them. Guess I'll have to order online.

90% booze
10% gas, food, hotels, breathmints
Good luck on the TT tonight!
Whew, after an hour, I just finished cleaning up the cat room after finding a hairball, which smells worse than ****, and just about a gazillion tiny ants eating their food. This is too much work:cry:

Still at work. Looking like it's gonna be a 12+ hour day. Then I'll probably get to come in early tomorrow.
But I did buy my new bike today. Yayhoo.

No-name frame, full Shimano 105 group. Nothing special, but it should be a fun ride. Hopefully it'll be here toward the end of next week. Then I'll have the weekend to assemble it.

LOL Considering what gas costs these days... and that I'm driving a 4 runner....I expect the gas will be a huge part of my budget for a 6 hour drive each way. But yea.... I gotta save some for the food and beers on Saturday for sure.;) :p Dex has been kind enough to let me spllit the hotel room for Saturday night, so that helps a bunch.:)

I'm in negotiations with myself to possibly buy another bike in October timeframe. Either a Trek Soho commuter or a Leader 717R - 105 equipped road bike for back and forth and less than stellar weather etc... Right now..the rational adult in me is winning, along with the low balance in my checkbook. But the little kid in me keeps rearing his ugly head and saying..."It's just another bike...buy it! Buy It!" LOL:p

P.S. The TT tonight went...well...it went. I finished 5th overall and was a minute slower than my last race two weeks ago. No excuses from me though...I just had a bad ride/off night tonight. It happens. I'm still 4th in the overall with one race to go. Not bad for my first summer of TT's. I might do a different TT the Monday night after Lancaster, if I'm not too tired. The field will be tougher, but the course is slightly longer, but flatter.

What you need to do is help out some poor sap cleaning out his garage by taking an old lugged steel roadie off his hands and converting it to a fixie for around town toddling about and the occasional hill repeats. Your checkbook will thank you for it.

That would be cool...except....those type of bikes/frames are like panning for gold around my parts. And also....a "fixie" just doesn't appeal to me or my less than stellar left knee. I like my knees...I need them both for about another 40plus years. So no fixed gear bike for me. Sorry Jyoss.:D

I got home today from work, running errands, seeing friends and whatnot. Anyway, I empty out my pockets let's see wallet, coins, my set of keys, um, let's see what else, someone else's keys, WHAT! --I HAVE SOMEONE ELSE'S KEYS!!!
True story, sad to say, I have no idea whose they are. They are similar to mine in that they have the same grocery store discount card as well as the same library card system.
Going to have to back track. To be continued...

Take the keys to the library and have the card scanned. Then the library can call the owner to pick them up. In the meantime, you hide in the bushes with a board with a nail in it. When the owner of the keys comes by, you bash him on the head and steal his wallet. Then go back and bash the person at the counter on the head and steal the keys back. Find the dude's car and use his ID to find out where he lived. Take over his identity and sign up for all the credit cards you can. Max them all out on bike parts (do hookers take credit, yet?). Send half of said bike parts to me as my cut since I'm not doing all this consulting work for free. Thanks. I'll PM my address. Actually, since you're a potential murderer, I'll PM my PO box number. By the way, I'm always armed with a board with two nails in it, so don't even think about trying anything funny, you psychopath!
Good morning.

Oh, and I saw this chick at the gas station this morning as I was getting loaded up on coffee who my boss and I cut in front of at the sandwich shop(pe) yesterday (I asked if she wanted her place back, she declined). Very attractive. I think this is a sign. I'm gonna start stalking her.

That's not very nice. We have a special department in the basement to deal with the likes of you nail(s)-in-board head-bashing-in fellows. Are you familiar with those long, pointy rods they stuck in the bottom of the old school card catalogs? :p

Perhaps her library uses the new, lightweight carbon fiber card catalog rods? They're worth at least a 52.452g savings, which I hear can allow a skilled TT'er to find the appropriate card in 3.2 seconds less than the old-skool stainless rods.

Uh huh. He also has sponsors buy them all for him plus a team to replace one when it breaks. A custom steel rod will last you your whole life!

Ummm...oh! oh! I've got it! My next door neighbor's head! I'm pretty sure he doesn't have rabies, and he doesn't have any teeth to bite you with, ANDANDAND his head looks like a cottenball. Doesn't get softer or fluffier than that.

I don't know that much about fender's history. Sold it for a friend and looked up the S/N on the interwebs. He was worried that it wouldn't do as well as the Danelectro necks I sold for him a while back, HAH!

It's stupid what some people will pay for vintage guitar junk. I mean, even during the "good" years for a given brand, there was plenty of total crap produced.
That said, I'd give my left nut for a spotless, nice-toned, straight, early stack-knobbed Jazz bass!
