I just had one hell of a fun day at the range with my brother. I shot about 500 rounds from my Fal, Sig, 1911, Remington 870, SKS, Mauser and 10/22. As if that weren't enough, some other guys there had registered full auto's which included a Browning BAR, Sten, Tipman 1919, and a PPSH41 which the owner personaly collected at the battle of the bulge. To quote him directly "I would have loved to shoot that mother****er Patton with this thing".
As if that still weren't enough, their getting ready for the Woodward Dream Cruise and on the way home we saw about 20 GT40's all parked in Birmingham. I couldn't have had a better day, short of getting layed and finding a new job.

I just came back from the moonlight ride in Prospect Park. I ended up riding w/ the only other fixie rider who was also doing sweep for the ride. It was dark and the moon was covered so no moonlight and the sweep didn't have a headlight so he asked me to ride along because I did and in his words, "It's a little scary." Some sections were so dark, we almost missed picking up the drop rider until we were almost on top of them. So we brought up the rear of the ride, watched a few people drop off, another guy have mechanicals w/ his rear wheel slipping out of the dropouts, both times during steep uphill sections. Getting restarted up a hill on a fixie can be a pain when you're clipped in, but the sweep was wearing flip flops w/ clips and straps so props to him. Anyways, the ride was good w/ a good mix of people, mostly young women for some reason. Then it was back up Flatbush where cagers were trying to run each other off the road and on to the bridge and home. Overall, it was a fun night to ride.
Does anyone else feel stronger when they ride at night?

Holy crap!!! You shouldn't be talking! You're rich yourself! If someone outbid you by $0.5M, how much was the house going for?
Priced at $23M.
SBW's first bid: $23M
Other person: $24M
SBW: $25M
Other person: $25.5M

Cadd. You got me all wrong. I'm not rich. If I was, I wouldn't be living in merton's cart now. :(
I shouldn't have said "out bid". It was a private sale. I put in asking price, he made an offer based on comps.

I'm waiting for my friend to call me. Sometime soon were going over to the autoparts store so I can help him replace his fuel and air filters and do a transmission flush. We'll probably also change the oil while we're at it.

That's cool, doing this type of work for a living makes me wonder why more people don't just save money by doing it themselves.
I'm waiting on a blacksmith friend to call me, we're probably going to see "Legend of Ricky Bobby," and I bought him a blacksmith's hammer because I hadn't seen him in a while.

It's a super mellow ride put on by Times Up. Top speed for the ride was maybe a sprint up to 12mph. Real mellow ride w/ all kinds of riders on all kinds of bikes. Roadies w/ goofy shoes, folders, fixies, mtbs, 3 speeds w/ granny baskets, etc. Dark as hell cuz of no moonlight, but there was some kind of funk concert going on so we had a soundtrack to ride to. Most of the ride is on trails through the park that are unlit making it real hard to see even w/ headlights. Typical stops are the Audubon house, the oldest tree in the universe and other parts. Odd for yesterday was there were more females than males. Young luscious females. On bikes. It was awesome.

Jesus I hate front wheel drive cars! We're still not done fixing my friends Ford Escort. For some reason I have 2 friends with Ford Escorts who don't know anything about cars, so this is a repeat of a nightmare from a few months ago. Just pulling the transmission pan off took over an hour, but that beats the over 2 from last time. I'm about to grab a snack and go back out.:crash:

Awesome Shadiyah! Where's the vacation pics?
I'm working from home today cuz I twisted my knee and strained my quads yesterday playing soccer and can now barely walk. I almost fell down twice just walking outside to get some lunch. Basically I look like I've got a peg leg when I walk. This sucks.

My hair and skin still smell like transmission oil, but my friends car is running better. Some ******* oil change place "flushed" his transmission about 3,000 miles ago by sucking the oil out and putting new oil in, and they never even so much as dropped the pan to clean the magnets off, much less change the filter. The magnets were covered with steel dust like I've never seen before. I hope it will last a while like it is, but for some reason I doubt it.

Wow me, zorro, and shadiyah road tripped at the same time!!
We went to the sacramento temple opening, then we went to nevada. Onto an indian reservation and we bought all kinds of fireworks. We went onto the beach, got stuck in the sand and we all had to get out and push the van out. We then found another spot, lit fireworks for 2 hours. Lester freakin started a fire in the brush, because he lights it right by dry grass. Me and scotty run over there to stomp it out. The next day we carried 60 lb backpacks into the middle of nowhere to sleep at pinecrest. Me and scotty scouted out in granite land for a good climbing wall. Me and him set one up, it was about a 40-45 feet tall smooth cliff, but the middle had a crack with some good foot and hand holds. We climbed it a few times while the others swimmed all day. A few days later we were coming home and stopped at a party on saturday. Got home at 1:30, we all group hugged because 2 of the guys are leaving for college in a couple weeks. We have tons of inside jokes and great stories. 3 hours of filming, and lots of pictures. Tehehe. Man it was awesome.
