Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

no. Is it hard to get certified?

I belong to the local YMCA and they had seminars that were offered. I'm certified through Reebok. It was a one day seminar that went over bike setup, correct form and technique, teaching hints, music cueing and stuff like that. I'd been taking spin classes for 5 years so was already familiar with most of the stuff they went over. I've been subbing at my gym for 2 years now, waiting for a permanent class spot to open up.
Most gyms require you to be CPR certified too if you are an instructor.

anyone else get super grumpy when they aren't working out?I was told today that I've been "combative" lately. I haven't ridden more than a few blocks in the last two months. Coincidence? Probably... but maybe not!

what did you do? combative where I work is when people yell at each other, not
when people are just cranky.
edit: not saying you aren't combative or legitimately cranky--just curious
about different standards at different places. Things that go unnoticed
here are, according to a friend in the midwest, a big ass deal back there.

I'm liking how I can get in and out of "f-you,buddy!" mode in the blink of an eye these days. It feels healthy somehow. It's like an adrenaline addiction, I think...I don't really smoke or drink or whatever, so I guess we all need something. I look forward to being abused twice a day now.
It's certainly not the exercise I miss if I don't ride...my HR barely gets above 150 BPM on the commute. well, maybe when the occasional near-death stuff happens:rolleyes:
The cold ain't so bad for me - only 7 miles each way, so I can handle it, just needed some good gloves and what not

Wow. I guess you are a bit edgy. Guess it would help if I stopped egging you on. I wouldn't mind a dose of flat urban terrain now and then. It used to be a blast flying across Rochester faster than the cars.

I'm ok.:) Yeah, it's frustrating not being able to go too fast for too long in traffic but the stop & go surfing can have its own appeal if you let it.:)
The one part I really hate is getting stuck behind the nasty diesel trucks that you know shouldn't have passed inspection. I got fumigated Monday and Tuesday AM this week...nothing like showing up at work ready to puke:mad:
