Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

You'd think they hated nerds or something. That does suck.
It was passed supposedly to shut out illegal radio operations in the State, but the wording is so broad that it could be interpreted to ban any form of radio communications:
877.27: http://law.onecle.com/florida/crimes/877.27.html
Some discussion:

About on the same lines as some of those over-reaching bicycling laws that never get enforced because they were designed for a specific purpose (Case in point, City Of Miami's mandatory bike bell law - invented only so they could pop homeless riders off of 8th Street. Never enforced).

Make, or cause to be made, a radio transmission in this state unless the person obtains a license or an exemption from licensure from the Federal Communications Commission under 47 U.S.C. s. 301, or other applicable federal law or regulation
The FCC grants this exemption to all CB and R/C transmitters here
Prior to enactment of the 1996 Telecommunications Act,
Section 307(e)(1) of the Communications Act of 1934 provided the
Commission with discretion to license radio stations in the
Citizens Band (CB) and Radio Control (R/C) services by rule
rather than by individual licenses, upon a finding that the
public interest, convenience and necessity would be served by
such action./3/ The Commission exercised its discretion with
regard to CB and R/C radio stations in the CB Report and
Order./4/ There, the Commission found that it was in the public
interest to remove the individual licensing requirement for CB
and R/C operators because no individual testing was necessary,
the existence of a data base of licensees did not assist us in
enforcement procedures, and individual licensing was costly and
administratively burdensome.
I'd say R/C is exempted from Florida Law, as long as you don't violate the other parts of the Florida Law. So as long as you aren't interfering with other communication, you'll be fine. And even if you are, they'd have a helluva time proving it, or even finding you.

Lets trade offices. One more person cooks that rank fish stuff in the microwave again, I'm gonna paint the inside of it with mercury fulminate. That'll take care of those fish lunches. And maybe a co-worker or 2.

No, other posters cause me to go insane. And so does possible cell phone radiation (although with my RF background I know better).
They won't allow alcohol at work so I'm making do with fruit salad. And I found some chocolate so everything will be okay.

It could be worse, you could've been arrested at your place of work for paying two male students to pose naked for pictures. Oh, and you're a man.
That's what happened to one of my favorite teachers from high school today. He's still teaching at the same place, same class. He was an awesome teacher, most kids and teachers loved him. Today he was arrested at school for taking pictures of two naked male students, and paying them to do it. They turned him in after posing for the pictures supposedly.
Uggh, all his students (past and present) are pretty shaken up right now. We just don't know what to think.
In other news, I did 60 miles today and my knees felt pretty good. I'm really excited about that. I guess I'll have to see how they're feeling tomorrow though for the real test.
They only like me for my warp drive.
So, is that like a bad thing? :p

Agreed. Some people are messed up.
My lips keep getting chapped this afternoon. All I'm doing is typing in references for a paper and occasionally talking with a coworker or walking to/from the printer. Not much I can do about it other than constantly reapplying lip balm.

Being the little shopkeeper today, putting out merchandise, a little bike work, a little snowboard tuning, explaining products, etc...just the usual.
The only bad news I got was that our website is back up...and along with it, the reservation system. :( The reason I'm bummed is that we had decided to forego reservations for bikes because several parties had cancelled, no one knows what size they need, and we like for folks to keep the rental as long as they'd like...impossible when there's a reservation. Oh, and also it's a PITA. For whatever reason, people seem to need their hand held and expect immediate gratification when transactions are electronic. Sorry, but I don't check emails but a couple times a day.
