Can I mow your yard? I would kill and/or maim for a backyard again...

I have to recycle, then go to work, but I need to wake up first. When I got my first cup of coffee, I put the soy milk carton in the freezer after I was done. :(

Careful, my backyard might kill and/or maim you. I'm almost positive my neighbor's yard would. It hasn't been cut in at least a month.:( The joy of having a septic tank means that it's always watered for you....
Now, I'm preparing to bathe and shave the dog.:( She almost bit me while ago when I was trimming some tangles from her fur. Maybe I shouldn't have fed her that beef broth to distract her. I think she was afraid I was trying to get some for myself. That's just silly, since I still have plenty left in the fridge with the roast. After I get finished with her and it cools down a bit this evening, I'll mow the yard. The back, maybe twice....

Not in my living room I won't. I got this for $59 on a special sale. Stupid arms are too wide for the shock. Because I have a small frame, my shock is closer to the top tube than the bike pictured.

Do this. Everytime you smoke a cig, throw a dollar in your spare change jar. At least you can save up for a new bike while you smoke. When you decide to quit, put the money you'd spend on smokes in the change jar. So if you smoke a pack a day, put the cost of a pack in the change jar everyday. After a few months, reward yourself w/ a new bike.

Well, I've gotten to the point where I'm no longer a daily smoker. The only time I can't control my craving is when I've had a few drinks. Since nearly all my friends smoke, I end up smoking, too. So I'll not smoking anything for 5 or 6 days, then one night of drinking and a half a pack of cigarettes and it feels like someone was punching me in the chest all night long.
If I could just figure out a way to remind myself how ****ty it's going to feel the next day when I'm getting ready to light up that first smoke...

Prozakk, are there many rides in the Denison area? My parents live on Lake Texoma and I come down to visit them every now and then.
Sooooooooo many trails. I live a 3 minute ride from Waterloo Lake. The trail around the lake is fun. The spillway & dam are fast and scary! The trails with huge jumps to the southeast of the lake are overgrown with poison ivy this time of year though. I also am a 5 minute ride from Loy Lake, but never ride there (just never tried it). I never go to Lake Texoma...too much broken glass. Plus why pay to swim at broken glass covered beaches. I'm sure there are trails, but I bet are on Government property, mainly.
I like mine freakin' strong, so you might not want to listen to me. However, I think all would agree that you need to have fresh beans in house, and grind them yourself. I also gradually push the plunger down over the course of ~7 minutes (depending on how badly I need my coffee) You've inspired me. I'm making a pot now.

Pay a non-smoker to hang out with you when you go drinking, then when you light up, have 'em kick you in the nuts!

Okay, for the best french press coffee, some things you can do: make sure that your coffee is ground is specifically for french press, if you can help it. A french press grind is generally coarser than a machine grind. If possible, grind your beans right before you brew your coffee. I bought a coffee grinder cause I got all picky about grinding my beans. Use filtered water if you can, get all the nasty flavors out. The best proportion of grounds to water is two tablespoons to every 6 oz. water, but following manufacturers' instruction gets you pretty close to this. Put your grounds in the press, fill up with hot hot water and then LET IT STEEP for for minutes. Just let it sit there. Then Put your lid on, press the press down slowly, and then enjoy. Heaven in a cup.

A grinder is next on my list. But that'll probably be a while. I only really ever make coffee on the weekend. Today I just got my beans ground at the store. Though I did forget that french press needs to be coarser ground. Didn't have any problems with clogging the filter, though.

Oh yeah, it definitely took a year for me to get all the coffee accoutrements. My friends think I'm kinda nuts to demand really good coffee, but they don't complain when I make them a french press or turkish coffee :D

I have sampled the cobbler...and it is good!:D The peaches were really ripe and juicy. The mandarin orange is a little weird, but not weird enough to fudge up the tastiness factor. I made the crust with regular pie crusts. One, I spread with cream cheese, dark brown sugar and cinnamon, rolled it up and cut it into medallions to lay over the fruit. Browned that a bit, the just laid the other crust over that and browned it. The crust is more dumpling than true crust, too, but that's pretty much par for the course with cobblers, I think. Pretty good for my first attempt, I must say!
