Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Thank you, KT and BDG for the warm wishes. I'm just a bit bummed because of the Steve Irwin thing, as well as having to sit and rest off this ankle. I hate TV, but there's not much else to do. Luckily, there's a ST:TNG marathon on, and I've got a PS2 game I've never played, but I hate just sitting. Bleh. I miss Picard.
I'm listening to the third hour of Michael Savage...dreading work tomorrow!!

Looking for jobs and waiting for dinner. I'm finding that the American embassy requires significantly more work experience for "entry-level" jobs than the Canadian, British, New Zealand and Australian ones do (edit: the Americans also have many more job postings). Ooh! Maybe I'll try Ireland next.

Yep yep yep. I'm up early again. Gotta work like regular people. Dang. Foo has been awful boring lately with no Merton.

Almost feel better in the crushed r. foot. No bokes broken, but my toes popped like grapes when the truck rolled over it. I'm thinking it's coming along fine considering, then I manage to stub my toe on the front porch...OUCH.
What really hurts is my feelings. The driver has disappeared, and I have to go to court in a day to defend getting hit on my bike. That cop is really an ******* if he shows up to fight. He didn't even question the driver, just assumed it was my fault. I am really, really doing everything in my power not to feel angry or cursed. Everyone keeps telling me to move on, and let go. I'm trying, really I am. But when the medical bills and bike repair/replacemant costs and court fees come around, part of me still wants the driver to take SOME responsibility for my pain...

It was pretty obvious what was meant. I'm waiting for the merketplace to open. ;)
I was interviewed today by a Mr. Morton. I had to keep reminding myself it was MORton, not MERton. Fortuntately, I managed to avoid that slip.
Strangely enough this was the FOURTH job I've interviewed for in the past few months where during the course of the interview, I discover that there is NO ACTUAL JOB POSITION. It's nice that you want to talk to me, but next time could you tell me that BEFORE I spend an hour getting down here in a cab (don't want to sweat through a nice suit)???
And Serendipper, that thing about the toes and the grapes is the most disturbing thing I've read in a while. Probably a lot more disturbing to have it happen to you first hand!

It's healing quite well, actually.
The key with smushed grape toes is to think positive and try not to make too much whine*.:)

Hello everyone. Tennessee was fun but boy was I ever ready to come home. Did some trail riding and enjoyed it. Only fell a few thousand times but it was nothing serious. Almost did the skydiving thing but the weather didn't cooperate. Maybe next time. I've only read this page so far - sorry to read about your foot Serendipper - that sucks. Good luck in court.

That sucks. If I were you, I'd play GTA:SA and just run around in a rampage killing cops until I got it out of my system. Funny how cops appoint themselves judge & jury sometimes. I guess it's easier than doing their job.
I'm working and thinking about the great food and fun I had this weekend.

That's probably good. It's damn difficult to clean cute out of fabric. Once it's stained, it's stained.

I need a nap, or more coffee, or a nap and more coffee.
On a different note, I just figured out motivation for riding. Not the exercise, not to save gas money, not to have fun. It gives me an excuse to eat Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Nut Granola bars!! :)
OK, back to my nap...

Serendiper, have you posted the whole story of this incident? I looked around for it, even on the the dreaded Hipster Forum, but couldn't find it. Inquiring minds want to know. Maybe throw up a link.
Oh, and the anti-inflamatory drugs they gave me have made a marked improvement on yesterday. I hate being on crutches, but I love that I have good medical insurance. I once tore my arm out of the rotator cuff without insurance, and just the x-rays took me years to pay off.

I'm about to clean up my finances. (Something I do near the beginning of each month.) Normally, money flows from my checking account (direct deposit of paycheck) to my money market account at Vanguard. And then some of it gets further divided from there for long term investments. This month, the net cashflow is in the other direction since I've got a new bike and wheelset to pay for.
