I have three beanies myself (home-made) - though it isn't that cold here yet. I also like them better, but I wasn't sure if I should presume BDG was "domestic" enough to sew them herself.
:lol: good assumption, NEVER assume! but yes, I can cook AND sew.. since I cant find my maid:p

I am enjoying the lovely chilly fall weather. Oh, I am so excited. I can't wait for the first frost. I'm going to make some frivolous wardrobe purchases: merino jersey, winter shell, a new beanie (all this talk of beanies got me excited) and technologically advanced underwear.

sorry you're feeling bad, BDG. man, I think I have allergies but it's really intense. my nose is stuffed AND running, and itching, my eyes are watering like crazy. and I took an Allegra already!I can barely see ... sneezing... I don't get it.

I just got back from working with habbitat for humanity. While I was there, I got to talking with a guy. He was impressed by how much I was busting my ass for free, and when he found out I was unemployed he said his brother has a construction company and he would certainly hire me. I'll believe it when he calls, but my hopes are up.

Then on the way home, being as I was in the ghetto I got in a street race with a severely ghetto rigged Impala. And I mean that in a good way. This was ghetto rigging at its finest. This thing had a loud and raspy exaust note, so I'm guessing it had a custom made off road X pipe, a less than stock engine and maybe a turbo or super charger. It kicked my cars ass. It must have been sporting 400 horsepower. I patted my car on the dashboard and told it how one day it will be that good too. Luckily my self esteem was lifted a few miles down the road when I taught a lesson to some lady on a cell phone driving a Kia who thought she could cut me off.

Even if I do get the job, its not like the "cards are in my favor" all that much. I'm available 3 days a week, and with the way construction companys all accross michigan are hurting, and given the fact that winter (the slowest time of the year for construction) is coming right up, I don't expect to work all 3 days very much. But hey, it beats only volunteering.

By the way, its funny how much more skilled I was then half of the people there. A lot of people who do habitat work have there hearts in the right place, and perhaps are there with their church, but they don't know what they are doing. Others are there by court order. I actually insisted we rip down a bunch of siding and do it over because sombody earlier in the week put the starter strip on without even leveling it. If you know what you are looking at, the bulk of habitat houses I have seen have glaring problems. I suppose the folks they go to don't care, and if nothing else habitat homes are way better than Pulte's. Bottom line is they need more skilled help than they usually have.

After completing numerous tasks that SHOUD have been done long ago, I am currently suffering from the following after-affects:

My feet feel so worn down that I am walking on my knees, and even THEY are starting to feel worn down.
I've had next to no sleep.
I feel like I don't know what planet or un-planet I"m on.
Blah, blah, rant, rave.

In all seriousness: For all of you who are suffering from real ill effects, I give you my empathy. May you be feeling well again soon, BDG.

Back from DC! Georgetown is such a nice community. Saw 4 really nice bike shops in about a 3 block radius, counted at least 3 or 4 bikers per block during peak hours. :D

Just got back from hanging w/ the fellas in Bklyn. It rained all day so the roads were wet. I grabbed the fixie and took off, hung out, had fun and had to answer that yes, it is possible to ride all the way from Manhattan to Brooklyn and back and not be exhausted, then rode back in a drizzle. It was a good night hanging out w/ guys I haven't seen in years.
