Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi TG! Whasssup?

Here ya go, buddy! I'll walk you through the process, even!;)
Begin with one package yellow Peeps(or however many this is) and one cheap pie crust. Stupid flash! These (very stale)peeps were hidden under the house(so TG couldn't find them) for quite some time, but the use by date was September 2006 so they're fine.:D

Put the little guys in the pie shell. Yay!:)

Bake at 350 for ~25 minutes(or until their eyes run). Ewww! Strangely, the browning seems to be more from the dye for the eyes than actual caramelization.

Take a picture using your mini flashlight to cancel the stupid flash on your digable camera. Woot!

Let cool, er, harden, on stovetop until TG can come get it with his road-rashed self.:p

Hi Cyclemagic, Hi siu
Hey TG! congrats on the new job!
Wow, Karldar, that's an...interesting...creation :o I've never really liked Peeps. :( But that did make me hungry. I'll have to eat some of my bro's cookies he baked last night.

If you microwave them for about five minutes they explode. (tee hee! :D)
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo....don't let him steal your snow! He needs to help me steal BeeTL's weather!
Wait 'til summer, then you can have all the Florida weather you want (hurricanes included).

I've been meaning to mention that the arachohickey looks like it'll leave a scar. Must be because it got infected. Strangely, it kinda makes me proud of it.:o
Dude, you gotta tell your buddies it's from a nympho vampire. And tell all the ladies it's a bullet wound when you took one while protecting the president of Canada. No one'll check.
The first ride after a major spill is always a bit apprehendsive. What if i spill again
You just get up again. Let your body ride and tell your mind to shut up.
Hmm, some of us spend way too much time in this thread.
3/4 of my posts were back and forths about your car or ice cream. Or was that the new car recom. thread?

That pie is awesome! I think it needs some chocolate easter eggs or something red that looks like blood.

I once put a Balance Bar in a microwave w/ the wrapper on. Didn't take more than 10 seconds before the wrapper started arcing putting on a light show and setting the bar itself on fire. That was cool.

Oh yeah, regarding that potential bike, I talked to the shopkeeper and he told me it's a great bike for racers and is handmade. I asked handmade by who and he said some guy. I asked how it could be built for racers if it has a cassette, but no RD and the chainring is maybe a 28t. He insisted the chain was handmade and you can use any gear you want. The chain was on its last legs and the chainring's teeth didn't even match in wear. The cassette was also ready to be tossed. He also wouldn't budge on the price ($70) and there's no way I'm paying that much for a mystery frame covered in electrical tape that could be hiding cracks or whatever. Plus the rear brake mount was covered in paint. So I guess I'm not getting it. Still, thanks to BF, I have a better idea of what to look for if I ever spot a good find. There's a bunch of thrift stores in my neighborhood that support one hospital or another which are also in my neighborhood so I'll keep ane eye out at those places.
Good thing you saw those things:D

Yeah, I couldn't quite figure out what to pair it with, but it definitely needs something. I had a bite(shhhh, don't tell TG) and the Peeps are like pumice stones. They're light, but hard, with lots of little air pockets inside. Think I overcooked 'em a bit. They were all jiggly when I took 'em out of the oven. Cooldown took care of that. Taste better to me than fresh, tho. Kinda reminds me of baked meringue. Actually pretty good with the crust, too. I came home from work this morning and saw it on the stove. I was like, "What the hell is that thing!?" then, "Oh, yeah. Peep pie! Yay!"

It's my fault. The sugary goodness from the picture overwhelmed me. The pie crust may be a little much though. :D

I'm surprised at how good it is(way too sweet, but tastes good). Plus, I'm one of those freaks that actually likes pie crust. In this case, the crust helps cut the Peeps pretty well.:)

Have you seen those meals in the grocery store that have ravioli in pie crust and other pastas in pie crust? I'm guessing I'm just not a pie crust person.
The vicious joy in cutting Peeps is just creepy, Karldar, it really is. Watch yourself next time you slip into his kitchen to steal something, Tex. He's just waiting for the chance to strike. :D

I was talking about cutting the sweetness of the Peeps. I'm just breaking the pie apart as I eat it(since TG hasn't come to get it yet:rolleyes: ). That's okay, tho. Did I mention it's tasty?:D

Ah, but you have seen them. They just happened to be '05 models. I hear the new ones are much faster. They might even outrun(fly?) me.

Oh, I see. So I have to wait until they get old and slow. I wondered about the guy walking around with marshmallow fluff on the shoulder of his suit coat. Gotta take an umbrella when those Peeps are flying around. :D
When is Easter this year? I have to get the basket together. *sigh*
Just got to work. It's a slow day since (1) my professor is out of town, (2) various prospective students will be passing through all day, and (3) at 5 PM, we'll have a reception and dinner for the prospective students.
Since it's supposed to rain later, I drove today. It was cold enough that for amusement, I decided to try out the heated seats. Even on the lowest setting, way too toasty for me after a few seconds' worth of heating. But then the seat would cool back down, and a minute later, it was fun to turn it back on for a few seconds. I need heated seats like in my dad's Lexus SC430, where rather than a few discrete settings, there's a dial where one can make really fine adjustments. Then it would be perfect. Well, maybe not. While we're at it, it would be nice to have the system in the BMW 7 series where one can fine tune the relative heating power of the seat cushion and the seat back (more heat to the cushion, a bit less to the back, please!) to the nearest 1%, and what the heck, let's also throw in the heated steering wheel. :roflmao: And of course, they should also be ventilated for hot summer days.

Heh. heated seats. not sure if i could ever get used to that. I think i've heard it mention that the steering wheel needs to be able to cool down :p

I'm sure with a varistor you could modify the heating controls to make the fine tune adjustments you want. Or pull the heater altogether and use it to keep your coffee/tea/soup warm. ;)
A bit annoyed since I figured out that trace acidity in standing water and alcohol might be causing some problems for our reactions. (Carbon dioxide is slightly acidic and can be slowly absorbed from the atmosphere.)
On the bright side, it's almost lunch time, and then a few more hours, and it will be time for the reception. Being a liaison for one of the prospective students, the new policy this week is that I'm also required to see to my prospective student's entertainment tonight. Hmm, I'm being told to go have fun. It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it.

Nah... too much work. Easier just to push the buttons every once in a while and keep switching heat levels. As for heating the coffee/tea/soup, it's designed more for cooling a drink, but the way the actively cooled cupholder in the center console is set up, one can easily set it to keep something warm. (The system, wehn turned on, is linked to the rear AC vents. So one simply has to turn the temperature to the high side, blast the heat through the AC vents rather than the floor vents, and close unnecessary AC vents for maximum effect.)
TexasGuy

Sounds way too complicated for me. How about a "Keep me comfortable button" and a "keep my drinks comfortable" button.
jyo, too expensive. I get an allowance to cover expenses, but it's a fixed allowance. Anything I spend in excess is from my pocket. And anything I don't spend I get to pocket.
TG, it's so complicated because it's really set up for keeping a drink cool. In its default operation, it will naturally do so. One has to override all the default operations to get it to keep a drink warm.

A cupholder which cools a drink. Sounds very useful. Cool coffee is more quickly ingested.

OK, forget the strip joint, just go straight to the *****s.
I think what your car needs is an ice machine and a bunsen burner. Put a small ice maker in the glovebox and rig a chute to the ashtray or vent right above the cup holder. A "T", some rubber hose, a ball valve, a flint and some surgery to the fuel line will take care of the bunsen burner.

peregrine, great suggestion. :)
Finishing up lunch with a sundae cone. Just got off the phone with PRG since I had to ask her about a situation involving my sister and a mutual friend. (Couldn't ask my closer friends who might be able to address my concerns since it's a bit of a touchy subject and the other friends are involved in the situation.)
PRG wanted to know if I was interested in driving up to San Fran together at Easter since a bunch of mutual friends are thinking of having a party right around then. Hmm, I'll think about it. Easter falls on my parents' anniversary this year, and my sisters and I are sending them to San Fran to dine at French Laundry (http://www.frenchlaundry.com/tfl/frenchlaundry.htm), one of the finest restaurants in the nation. And my sister's in med school up there and there's an open invitation for me to visit whenever.

Is PRG the tennis shoe girl? I think you're married Jschen and just no one has told you yet. You ever go for a walk down a flower laden isle with her? Some guy who is very fond of black clothes with only a touch of white at the collar rambled on? This could be a clue.
Congratulations to your parents. The gift sounds lovely.
