I'm trying to put together a cue sheet with some good climbing on google mars.

jyo, I'll give you my cue sheet. Start at the base of Olympus Mons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympus_Mons). (Doesn't really matter where along the base.) Climb straight up to the top. You'll have over a double metric straight uphill, with about 24,000 meters of vertical. The downhill return journey, with the lower air resistance on Mars, should be quite a blast. :D

I want to train with jyo, too. jyo, let CycleMagic and me know when you're riding Olympus Mons. I'll definitely come along. And I'd bet CycleMagic will be there, too, if you make us a pepperoni and jalapeno pizza at the top. She probably would even bring the mandatory cold beer. I wouldn't mind dragging the beer up the mountain; after all, there's less gravity on Mars.

Back on topic... I've got about half an hour to kill before my time on the NMR spectrometer. (There's other instruments available right now, but for my purposes today, only the highest sensitivity instrument will do.)

I'm feeling better now and kind of wishing I had biked in today. Oh well. Maybe Thursday. (Dentist appointment tomorrow makes biking a bit impractical.) On the other hand, having a car makes it much easier to go wherever I want for dinner. I'll probably go for a dinner break soon.

Kicking for myself for not reading my email more carefully. The UPS guy delivered my replacement honey colored Brooks saddle from IRO, not my Nashbar order. Nashbar just sent my stuff via regular mail a week ago and I still haven't gotten it! :( :cry: However, the Brooks looks quite lovely on the blue fixie and of course I had to take it out for a ride to start breaking it in.

I'm also eating chicken, grilled veggies and fettucine in a creamy lemon-chicken sauce. :)

I am posting from the Sheriton's 4 Point hotel in houston, tx which by the way sucks so badly its no even funy. I got myself a new laptop yesterday, spur of the moment thing and I am remoted into my home computer via rdc, which I am <3ing cause the internet connection at the hotel is so damn slow.

I went to bad at like, im not sure when but it was early. Got a rally restful sleep but woke up before midnight, tossed and turned for a while and then realized my body was only going to hurt more if i stayed in bed. So I'm up. wrote a few more paragraphs in my story and talking to some people online. And making lots of typos.

I'm surfin' the 'net and feelin' kinda crappy. I think I overdid my weight lifting last night and work didn't help any. I was all swole up, tho. It was actually pretty funny to see my arms all pumped up.:lol: Gonna go to bed soon, after I check my email. Nighty-night, all!:)

I believe it's jsc's parents anniversary.

I just finished calling a dozen or so bike shops to see if they have Brooks Proofide. One store has it in stock but is closed today and another may have it, but they're renovating so they'll get back to me, soon I hope. Also wondering what to eat for lunch.

Yes, my parents are having Easter lunch on their anniversary at French Laundry. It's also the weekend PRG is thinking about taking a road trip up to SF. The problems are that (1) it's right in the heart of the Sundays when I should be preparing for Breathless Agony, (2) it's an awfully long drive (8 hours each way) for a weekend trip, and (3) my parents probably would want me to drive with them, ruling out spending the time with PRG. (Well, she could still come, but it's not quite the same with parents in the back seat.)

Just got to work... a bit later than normal because of my dental appointment. No new cavities. :)

Spent the last 5 hours helping a colleague (not on my project) with a computer problem. I'm really hungry now, but I'll put off eating until I leave work. That should happen pretty soon.

By the way, the frame on my backup to my backup glasses broke last night, so now all three of my glasses are in ill repair. That means I really need to get shopping for glasses. I'll aim to be a bit more stylish this time. And I still haven't gotten around to getting my jeans altered. So much to do...

Before my case started (in court), another group came out and there was a guy in his early 30's very firmly telling his lawyer....."But I don't want the car replaced, I want my BIKE replaced!!" Naturally my ears perked up but then again I realized that was wrong so I tuned him out. Later I noticed him getting mad and storming off. He just HAD to be talking about a bicycle not a motorcycle. I can see damaging a bike if it's on a car but a motorcycle AND a car.....nope. Bike. You go, boyfriend! Hope you replace your bike.
