Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just came back from a ride to get some Proofide and eating lunch.
I'm writing a report and trying to remember what breathing through my nose was like. Darn bouncy weather. *sigh*
Im about to go on my bike:D

Of course there will be cold beer!
CycleMagic wants to race me for beer. It doesn't get any better than that!

If you go to the main page of BF, scroll down to the bottom where the list of members online is - there's a cartoon on the very left, if you click on it, you'll see who's online and what they're doing on BF at this very moment.
oooooooooh creepy!

Holy freaking cow! Called Nashbar about the order I haven't received yet and was told it takes 7-12 business days which means conceivably I won't get it until next freaking week! I hate waiting! Arrrrgghhh!
wow! you have been waiting for...like...forever, dude!
Spent much of the day reviving my colleague's PowerBook. (Continuation of yesterday.) I think she has bad RAM that along with a problematic Apple security update led to some serious corruption. But by having my computer install everything on her computer (by having her computer act as a Firewire disk for my computer), we got everything set back up. Now to deal with the RAM...
It was a relatively relaxed day physically as a result, but I wish I was in the lab getting things done. Oh well... it's the price of knowing computers really well. Unfortunately, I can't feign ignorance about computers since I consult in the computer industry.
I'm going to head to dinner before heading home. Haven't yet decided where to eat.
By the way, my pulse is back down to 60-65 bpm. Not too bad given how out of shape I am.
Okay, off to dinner. Then hopefully I'll get to bed early enough to want to ride tomorrow pre-breakfast. And hopefully, I'll manage to not vomit this time around. No commuting tomorrow due to a rainstorm (yes, I'm a wimp), so I can give it my all during the pre-breakfast ride.

Sitting back and checking out the job I did on my saddle. Treated it w/ proofide and locked it to the frame w/ an old chain wrapped in an old innertube. Also looking at sidepull brakes and wondering whether I should get them or V-brakes. Decisions, decisions.
Just got back from playing indoor soccer. I got kicked in the shin pretty hard...it's definitely gonna leave a big bruise. Yeah, and when I got back to my dorm room, I found that one of my friends had been on my computer. I mean Come On! There's stuff on my computer that other people don't need to see! :D :p

Wow. Nice friends. Do you know who did it?
Oh yeah, I called him on his cell and gave him a piece of my mind! Oh well, he didn't do anything too bad and I don't think he found my important files ;) Well, I gotta get up a bit early tomorrow, so I'm gonna go take a shower and get ready for bed.
Alright, g'night everyone!
Good night!
I'm home, just bumming around. I'll probably go to bed sooner rather than later (maybe in an hour or so) to ensure I get up for my pre-breakfast ride.
Getting ready for bed. Same cycling gear as last night is being worn to sleep, except no gloves tonight.

My best friend likes to change the banner on my phone if he can get hold of it. I'm lucky, tho. He's in the cell phone repair industry so he could really jack up my phone if he wanted....

I'm waiting to make a call(to a place that opened half an hour ago). Guess I should go ahead and call 'em. Also debating on whether or not to have oatmeal for breakfast, or oatmeal. Maybe I'll just have oatmeal....:)

I just got back from houston last night. Worked a bit. Ran across houston many times then 4 Hours of driving back to san antonio. By the time I got in, the stress, the annoyance, the traffic and the driving had gotten to me. I slept for almost 11 hours, though not in one continuous strip. There was probably an hour or 2 of tossing and turnning around
I'm drinking coffee and trying to decide whose tush I want to kick first. Stupid printers keep patting me on the head when I go in for estimates and then doing what they want though I went in with VERY specific instructions for what estimation. Darn people. Nothing irritates me more.

Lex, you got the right attitude. Sometimes you just gotta lay down the law.

I will have to develop a special "do not defy me" glare that will cause people to be obsessed with doing EXACTLY as I command.
I called one of the printers (I have to get a number of estimates) because he didn't quote a certain thing and he said (and I am not kidding here), "You can't afford that." QUOTE THE DARN PRICE, YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I CAN AFFORD! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr  What was worse is that we could afford the item.....and we may have to go with that printer as they're the lowest estimate so far. *sigh*

I'm guessing the what he was really saying was "I don't want to do that, it's a pain in the a**, I don't do it very well, I can't make money on it at ANY price, BUT I want your business, so I'll try to talk you out of it".
:)

This is a big contract for any of the smaller print shops around here. You'd think they'd get their heads out of their tushies. I'm calling around now to see if I can get another estimate even near that one....even if I have to call every print shop in town and deal with 100+ superior jerks.
I'm carefully watching my company's reputation in serving public sector clients.
We've been in the local paper recently, and the implications aren't positive...
You're in insurance, aren't you, BeeTL?

Lex, why don't you give the printing job to a BF'er? I think there's a few that work for printing companies in the SS/FG forum.

Not a bad idea if there are any in Canada (or any who can ship internationally within our budget). I work for the city so will have to go check now to see if there are rules about using city businesses for city stuff or if I can farm out. Excellent idea, jyo!
*sigh* Can't go outside of the county for printing. It's a shame. I am now going to call every printer in the phone book.

Yup.
Group insurance, as I recall. You must get lots and lots of angry folks. If I see any approaching I'll be sure to call someone....Tex maybe....just to let him know.

Even more irritating than the people who toast your bagels? Wow... that's saying something!

It is more irritating than toasted bagels so that really says something. :D Though it probably says more than I can't remember the last time I was this annoyed. :(
Anyway, I'm going to go enjoy toasted buns now... thanks to heated seats in my car. Gotta go to work, even though I really don't feel like it today.

I sense oppty. in this...Lex and I setup a sham printing company and Lex directs printing jobs our way. We then farm it out to BF'ers who ship it back to us. We add our margin and sell it to Lex's company. Lex & I split the profits. This is almost as brilliant as the gnomes that steal flashlight parts for profit.
^^^ Brilliant!
Oh, I'm waiting for eight o'clock to roll around so I can go home.

I hope you do this faster than you're patenting the heated and ventilated saddle. I'm waiting for you to ship a heated and ventilated saddle now that I'm spoiled by heated seats in my car. It makes me wish the steering wheel and the shifter were heated, too. As it is, my core gets nice and toasty, but my hands have to handle a cool surface. Especially that metallic shifter... gotta warm that thing up!
Leather wrap, or driving gloves.
Just how 'cold' is it in San Diego?
