Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
It's chewing through the brake line. Rats are like that.

Rats are in your van eating your brake lines
is it normal for a rat to be out in broad daylight running around a parking lot? seemed really interest in the left front wheel of a mini van.
Rats are basically nocturnal creatures, but I've seen wild ones in the daytime too. So, it's not abnormal.
They were probably smuggling cheese in that front wheel.
I'm serious you could possibly make yourself a friend with that little guy.

anybody seeing weird things where a thread you went in and read/replied is not being marked as being read after refreshing the posts list?
I'm seeing things, but not forums related. Dayum 'medicine'.

Mine was pretty bloody, too. And hurt like hell. Fingertips are a lot of nerves in them. And having to change the bandage and debride the wound was excruciating. My husband had to do it for me. I just sat there literally shrieking in pain, and he very calmly and quickly took care of it each time. I don't know how he did it. I'd have freaked out with him screaming in my ear, if the tables had been turned.
Oh ouch! I feel your's and Siu's pain! I was trying to be all sweet and making tacos for Joe one night while he was off doing something. I had everything done, and I was chopping up the garnishes. While I was slicing green onions, I chopped a big chunk off the tip of my middle finger. It. Hurt. SO. Bad! I tried to stop the bleeding and the pain, but all could end up doing was running my finger under cold water, cowering down under the sink, screaming with each drop that fell on me. I couldn't believe how painful it was! Joe was sweet and helped me when he came back.

I think one of my brothers did something like that recently .
When i was cleaning out my final and last apartment i gripped the back of the heating element which connects directly to the back of the oven. Bam. I had a instant nice 1-2 inch cut on my hand.
blood everywhere. Kitchen can sometimes be very dangerous :D

Another time I was using an electric hedge trimmer on my forsythia, which was taking over my deck. As I strained out over the railing, I couldn't quite reach far enough with both hands on the trimmer. So, I swung my left hand free, slashed out and got the branch I had been trying to hit, went to stand up straight again, trimmer came back toward me, left hand hanging out there, hit my middle fingertip hard and dead-on, straight into the moving blades. All this happened in about 2-3 seconds. For a moment, I was stunned. Then saw huge drops of blood hitting the deck, dripping faster and faster. I could not get the bleeding to stop except by serious compression. Glad that wasn't a gas-powered trimmer! And that I really only caught the end of my finger dead-on rather than sideways!

I also failed one part of the pop quiz my Biology teacher gave me. She told us to memorize some insects for the test, and the test is tomorrow. So she gave us a pop quiz today, labeling parts of a grasshopper, which i got 100A on, and then listing insects and there characteristics and all. It's all good, i checked my aaverage since she post's them up on a special website, and i have a 108A average, so i'm good. I got that average by doing bonus questions on test's and extra credit work.

True finger laceration story... Years ago a guy comes into the ER having severed the top part of all four fingers of each hand. His story... he had been mowing the grass and then had to trim the bushes. Reached down and picked up the lawn mower by the bottom edges to lift it to use it on the bushes. The mower was running (this was in the days before the safety-bar-that-cuts-the-engine-when-released mechanism) and he slid his hands under the mower a little too far as he picked it up. For real... I can't make this up.
I won't get started on snowblower chute clearing chop up jobs.
My finger cutting story from this summer: I was working at our local hardware store. I was in the back garage and came into the main part of the store. I was closing the door behind me, and not really paying attention. I didn't get my left hand in the door quick enough before it closed behind me and my left ring finger got a nice chunk of skin cut off by the striker plate. It didn't hurt or bleed for a couple of seconds. I was looking at the muscle and fat inside my finger, and then it started gushing blood and hurting like a biatch. I wrapped it up as good as I could with some paper towels and tape, and kept working. Later that day when I was working the register, I realized I was bleeding all over peoples money. Yeah, that sucked...

I just felt like listening to the song because it empowers me.
Today actually went quite awesome.
I signed up to give these presentations and train these personnel, stone cold, about something i've not used alot of to people I never knew up until a few hours ago. And I knocked it out of the baseball park.
I should try getting a job doing giving presentations and training people, although the talking alot aspect does hurt one's throat.

Please don't let me forget, and don't hesitate to PM me once in a while. I tend to get busy, and Foo, while it appears that I do live there, is a diversion, as I move around my house, cleaning, goin' through stuff, packing....

I propose that those of us with red stars make a new contribution for 2007, which is on the level of a paid subscription to a magazine, and as you all know, we have sooooo much more fun on BF than with any magazine (well except ******* and ********), and that those without a red star  step forward and cough up a contribution to keep the wheels rollin', so to speak.

They can do that because most people who pay, don't show up. It is only crowded in January...

10 people times 500 - 1000 memberships equivocates out to 10k a month for doing absolutely nothing.

Except for paying for the lease on the property and the gym equipment, plus all the associated insurance of running a gym, maybe 2-3+ full-time employees depending on size (who knows if they're receiving health insurance or if there's an in-house trainer - for $10/month membership, I doubt it), plus the whole making a profit thing. I'd be surprised if they don't raise their rates down the road. But, still, a lot of people will put up with an automatic $10 withdraw from their checking account ever month even if they're not using the gym.

I hope it thins out soon. Tried to go to the gym lastnight and it was packed ended up going home. I've tried to avoid it all month. But I'm going stirr crazy and I'm not to keen on running at night, in the cold, trying my best to dodge random patches of ice.
How big is the gym, Zorro? Did it just open up?
