Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey, this is Foo. Non-cycling topics only! ;)
I really ought to go riding, too. Beautiful weather, yet I haven't done a non-commuting ride since last Sunday. :( I was going to ride this morning, but then decided to sleep in instead after getting home just before midnight. I expect by the time I get home from work today, the sun will be setting.
Oh well, tomorrow. I'm definitely riding, but I haven't picked my route yet.

eanie meanie minie moe.
there i picked out your route for your :D
there i picked out your route for your :D
So which one will it be?
(A) My typical Sunday half century with 2700 feet of climbing, which I did last Sunday. If I do it tomorrow I plan to do it twice (using my apartment as a SAG stop) for a century. But it might be tempting to quit after one loop.
(B) A tough metric century with 5300 feet of tougher climbing. Nice scenery, most of the ride out in unpopulated areas.
(C) Drive out to Palomar Mountain and do "hill repeats" on Palomar. Last time I did this, I did three climbs, for a metric century with 12000 feet of climbing.
(D) Do loops of my favorite 15 mile morning route (1800 feet of climbing in a loop). Perhaps too tempting to quit every time I pass by my apartment, though.

always glad to be of help
:D
Part of me wants to go riding today and part of me doesnt. Nice and sunny but there's also a chilly wind. I need new routes. I've got about 2 routes that I can take without having to drive somewhere. :(

It's hard to find flat routes around here! Too much rolling terrain. That, and since my only performance-related goal for 2006 is a climb, I need to keep working on climbing. I need to climb at about 2800 vertical feet per hour (and sustain it for almost two hours) to reach my 2006 goal. Right now, I'm at about 2200 vertical feet per hour on sustained climbs.
TexasGuy, go ride! Do it on my behalf since I don't get to ride today.

Off I go
but now for something completely different
Michael, If you were on a date, having dinner with a nice young lady, how would you tell her that you have to go to the rest room?" the teacher asked.
"Just a minute, I have to go pee", he said.
The teacher replied,"That would be rude and impolite.
What about you? Paul, how would you say it?
"I am sorry, but I really need to go to the bathroom, I'll be right back."
The teacher responded, "That's better, but it's still not very mannerly to say the word 'bathroom' at the table."
"And you Johnny, are you able to use your intelligence for once and show us your good manners."
I would say: "Darling, may I please be excused for a moment, I have to shake hands with a very dear friend of mine, whom I hope you'll get to meet after dinner."
The teacher fainted.

Finished cycling for an hour+ in the middle of San Antonio. Soo much fun and such a rush to be racing alongside traffic on roads 3 and 4 lanes wide :p
Now writing some code that adds some functionality to a printing press's pod site.

Too bad about the bike, it looked pretty good. Good Luck on the search.
Steve
thanks.
I am still kind of pissed. I look at the ad and think "WHY THE HECK DIDNT i GO SEE IT YESTERDAY?" But thats life I guess.
Getting ready to ride to church.
Good news!
Got my first snowblowing customer!
I am just getting ready now and making sure things are ready and the gas if filled!
wooohooo
Congrats on landing a customer, hi565. :) Hope the right bike for you comes sooner rather than later.
Double checking weather conditions so that I can be suitably prepared before I take off for my ride. (Choice B above, as chosen by TexasGuy.) Not so much because of temperature or precipitation (hot, no precipitation) but just so I know what winds to expect.
Im watching the spurs:mad: pacers:) game.
I think Dallas is 39-11 and Spurs are ahead of us in our confrence by 39-10. So they HAVE to lose so we can be tied with them for #1:D.
go pacers! (jschen, like my smilies? :D )
(jschen, like my smilies? :D )
Until that last :D yes. You messed up the whole balance of things with that last smiley. ;)
I'm back from my bike ride. Was hoping to do around 5 hours flat, but ended up at almost six hours. I blame the wind. It was so bad that I think I'll write a ride report in the road cycling forum.

importing a Peter Gabriel CD into itunes, and going to bed soon, stupid work tomorrow.
Just ordered some pizza for dinner so that I can stay in and watch Olympic highlights. Pizza's a favored meal of mine for after my Sunday ride. Spaghetti for my Saturday night topping off of the fuel tanks. Normally, it's Pizza Hut meat lover's. Tonight, I'm trying the cheese lover's.

I just woke up and my neck is KILLING me! I have no idea what I did during the night to make it hurt so bad. I can't turn my head more than about 30 degrees either direction without terrible pain. I need to find somebody to give me a neck and shoulder massage. arg :(

Ouch! Have you heard of Bio-Freeze? Available at chiropracter's offices and works like a freaking miracle.

neck pains are the worst. I usually do it once a year. hurts so much for a week or 2 at least.
I think it's loosening up a little. I took some ibuprophen, and I can turn my head to about 60 degrees either way now. This reminds me of a time when I was like 10 years old. It was the day before my family and I were going on a trip to Disney World. My brother and I were having a pillow fight :p and he smacked me up side the head really hard with the pillow. I pinched a nerve in my neck. I walked around Disney World for a week with my head tilted to the side because that was the only position that didn't hurt. :D

Im just sitting at work during lunch after eating a lot of food! We had a potluck today. The good thing about being the new junior guy is that i just go to the convenience store, buy a cake from the good folks at McCain for $4.50, and then eat all the great food that everybody else brings! So much home made pizza, meatballs, spinach dip, dry ribs, wings, rice, bread buns, oh lordy! so much food! and the Exec. Director bought Dinner for 8!!
How can they expect us to work efficiently in this environment?! I mean, the hour before lunch was a write off because it smelled so damm good in here, and people were just hovering around the lunch room looking at what people brought, and the whole afternoon will be a writeoff because everyone is just going to sleep it away, or else be sitting on the can.
Now, its time to undo the top button, and go get dessert. :D

Just put Bambi 2 on for my daughter...again. Am now waiting patiently for the wife to get home from work, so we can exchange Valentine's gifts. I think I'm getting the Overcoming DVD. She's getting flowers, a card, gift cards from Sephora and MAC, and a bag of Doritos (the Doritos are per her request).
