Could you use the pre-paid envelope they give you to send something to somebody else? Like, write over their shipping address and put whatever address you want?
I don't think so, unless you are sending it to another place that has one of those accounts with the post office. And in that case, you might as well use their envelopes.

Gonna go buy some brake fluid 'til I can take my car in. May not even be a ruptured line. Gonna sleuth a bit more on it. But, in any case, it does appear that I won't be going to HMS this evening. Unless any CLT Foo's are going and would give me a ride. :(

Got a dentist appointment this afternoon - i think I have a cracked filling. :(
Anyway, while trying to get the words right in Spanish for it, I found out that a filling here is called a casco - as in the metal horseshoe they put on horses. :D
So I guess you could say that my tooth threw a shoe... ;)
I hope they decide you are worth saving and don't shoot you. They shoot horses ya know!:D

It's a blizzard!!! Woooohoooo!!!! Finally! :D
Good luck with the brakes, Vega, and good luck with the dentist, CR! Are there good dentists in Costa Rica? Does it cost an arm and a leg over there like it does here?

Shadiyah - very good Dentist here and very inexpensive. More than a few people combine dental work and a vacation and it ends up being cheaper than a dentist up there.
About a year ago I had a problem with a tooth - walked in, had my teeth cleaned and a filling replaced with the fancy european white type (instead of silver) - this included xrays too. Walked out after 30 minutes, NO PAIN - and it cost roughly 20 bucks if I remember correctly.
My wife and I have had dental work here that was to correct bad dental work from up there. Usually it is about 25% of the cost, or less. And, unlike up there, they don't believe in torture down here.

Meh. I was driving down sharp park which is a windy road to bring something to a friend.. I came out of the curve at the bottom and completely spun out, couldn't keep control of the car. Almost went right into the concrete median before I came to a stop. I backed up and continued on. That was scary. I don't think I was going over the speed limit either. Maybe 5 over.
That type of thing happened to me once on I-95. The road was covered in slush, I was following a car at 50 and thought that 50 was a bit too slow. I pulled out into the passing lane and started picking up a little speed, then decided that maybe 50 in slush wasn't too slow after all. When I started to ease back into the right lane the car went around 2 1/2 times. 50 going straight ahead may not be too fast, but 50 going sideways is FAST!
I had the shakes for a couple minutes afterward. :D

Honestly, it isn't a bad idea. Also, unlike in the USA - it isn't forever to get a crown. I lost a crown and they needed to make a new one - I came in one day, they molded it and in a couple of days put a new one one - and FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER - it stayed put.
My wife had to have a emergency root canal (botched job from up North) and a crown - it was a difficult job - total cost - 200 dollars.

I'm planning to leave here around 4pm. Don't know if my questionnable rear tire will hold up to the asphalt (trainer's been pretty brutal), but I'm not gonna change it if I don't have to. It's downright painful.
I'm bringing plenty of first-aid supplies in case I go down because of the tire. ;)
I've got your cell. I'll PM you mine. I should be there by 5:30pm for sure, and I'll be using directions from Mapquest, hoping they're correct!

Anyways, just checkin' into foo for a sec. My head hurts. Might be back on around 7 pst. Not sure. Probably will go sleep for a sec.

I loved it. Too bad the last ride is next Tuesday evening. Hopefully the weather will be nice. Was about 62F when we started, I think, dropping to about 55F by the time I was leaving. You know I really wanted to do this: I drove 63 miles each way! :p
Of course VegaVix took some pix, Jon.
The first is the slower of two pacelines that had set up about the time I was leaving (about 6:40pm). The second is, look quick-like, CycleMagic whooooooshing by. I tried to get the pic more head-on, but my cameraphone didn't get the pic, and so I just followed her and got the pic. In any case, believe me, she was out there kickin' some butt. :D
You go, CycleMagic! I really enjoyed meeting you! And I think you should consider riding TT in April, girlfriend. :)

Urm. Those guys in the faster paceline probably own the track. I estimate they were probably strokin' along at about an average of 25-28mph, occasionally hammering, no doubt, well into the 30's on sprints!
I'm happy to report, after not having ridden outside since 1/27, an average speed of about 17.5mph over 12.5 miles, with an average cadence of 89rpm. :) I'm pretty sure that with a lot of roadriding and trainer-riding (and a sweet, new, lightweight roadbike :D), I can break a 20mph average at my first 10-mile TT in April.
No clear pics, alas. It was hard to see the screen under those lights, and I really should have been a bit more down on the track for better pics, but they kinda don't like people walking down there during events.
Most roadie training rides are on the road. But some motorsports tracks allow cycling clubs to book time prior to TT season, just for practice riding without having to deal with stoplights, traffic, dogs, hills, etc.

Next Tuesday is the last ride. Gonna be there, barring cancellation due to bad weather? <curious Vega look> You could probably get there more quickly than I, going I-85 to US321. :) I went I77 to I40. Took about an hour from my house to the track.

Oh I see. Well... I don't think I'll ever understand riding around in circles. But power to you if that's what you like. The most important thing is to like what you do and try to get better at it.
Seems that's what you're doing VV. Lil Jon is proud of ya. Keep us updated on your progress, and I can't wait to cheer you on for your first TT!! In spirit of course. :D

I also love ridin' on the road. Just that my first competitions will be TT, and these happen to be on a motorsports track (Lowe's Motor Speedway, not far from where I live, and a much larger track, 10 miles in only seven laps, vs 27.5 laps at HMS!). Some TT's are not on tracks, but do employ a loop of some sort. If I do well at TT, and get much stronger on my roadriding, I may eventually try road-racing. <was that an out-loud thought?>

I was out late at the Tennessee/Florida game (http://utsports.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/recaps/022707aaa.html). Peyton Manning was in the house, Pat Summitt donned a cheerleading outfit, and my Volunteers stomped the loathsome Gators. A good time was had by all wearing orange.

HEY! it was great to meet you, Vega! I am glad you made the trip up here. This second night on the track for me was such a blast. Last week, I was wondering what all the fuss was about, just trying to keep going in circles, keeping my legs from exploding. But this week was completely different: I have a new friend, I got in a huge pack of people, three wide and we cruised along about 21 MPH for as long as I could hold on. The big boy go fast group settles in around 25 MPH and make it look easy.
Hope to see you there again next week!
Suffering from insomnia.

Well, I'm waiting for my lecture to begin.
