Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Good morning Foo!!! *while drinking her cup of coffee*
I had a total of 3 hrs of sleep. I hope everyone had a good night and that everyone has a great day. Take care.
Ciao.
I'm in a computer lab between classes right now with a cup of coffee.

In addition to great service, I just found out that Chinese food comes with a free brown can of spray paint. I swear, that garbage cleaned me out better than White Castle.

The computer memory stick I purchased just arrived. I'm going to attempt to install this puppy.
If you don't hear from me in the next few hours, send the Foo computer support team; I've probably got major computer issues.

Well, slap my ass, just learned that my new hard drive and my new ram are on their way to being delivered to my apartment. Hopefully my landlord is home and will be able to accept delivery. Either way, I can wait until lunch tomorrow to get it since tonight is monday night drunk club AND dodgeball night (even though I only participate in spirit with the MNDC).
Good luck with your upgrade, Velo. I'll let you folks know how mine goes after I install Ubuntu probably tomorrow evening.

I'm sore today, but will survive. It was nice to be able to ride to work today, even though the wind was blowing.

Don't mind if I do!
Computers are silly. I need to buy a new desktop for home in a couple paychecks. My laptop just isn't cutting it anymore.
I'm looking forward to more city riding after work tonight. Working on growing the balls to get all the way down to Prospect Park for the night ride on Saturday.

Do like Vega said and eat it. It should bring tears to your eyes.
Eat enough and you won't blink for 3 days.
How much caffeine do chocolate covered espresso beans have in them? I saw some at the store, they were kinda expensive, but they are pretty tasty.

I have a little WSD part, maybe that's the difference. What can I say? I do my part to avoid "that problem." ;)

You get a NYC bike map yet? If not, hit up your LBS and get one. They're free and makes it easier to find which streets have bike lanes or are wide enough to accomodate bikes and cars. You commuting to work by bike yet?

Ha...no, no commuting for Eboo yet. I have just mastered my 'hood, I am slowly branching out. I need to figure out the shower situation here at work, as well as figure out the path of least death. Also on my list: LBS to buy a couple lights for the bike, and pick up a map. I REALLY want to to the PP ride Saturday, I've just never ridden in the dark by myself, and it's a longish haul from Northern Astoria.

It just looks long. Break up the ride so you include a dinner break before you go on the moonlight ride. Tons o' places to eat in Park Slope/Ft. Greene/Prospect Heights/Flatbush. Also, I forget where you work, but there should be an LBS nearby. Lemme know and I'll point you towards one.

OK, I'm back. I've upgraded from 2002 era memory to 2004 era memory!
It took two attempts to get the computer running. The first time the computer simply beeped when I turned it on. Apparently I didn't have both sticks securely in their slots. Whoever designed the layout inside the box didn't allow much room for hands.
It sure was dusty in there. <cough, cough>

That's where you turn the computer off, get a full case of compressed air and spray everything really good. Dust likes to accumulate on fans and heat sink which greatly decreases the amount of heat that can be dissipated off of your cpu and other chipsets. Quite often a matter of 10+ Degrees F which can often times push cpus to either operate slower, bsod/hang up, etc.

Sid's is on 34th bet 1st & 2nd. Chelsea Cycles is at 156 W. 26th, Paragon is on Broadway @ Union Sq. (north side) and 14th St. Metro Bikes is at 332 E 14th. Those are the ones closest to you. I'd hit up Sid's as the closest (1/2 mile, about 10 min. walk).
Back from another class. We had to go on the computers in a lab. They were all Macs. I was very confused. It's like going to a foreign country and you don't speak their language and everybody is yelling at you but you have no clue what they're saying, but you know that they are pissed off at you. Then flip them off, wave an American flag, and leave. Or something like that...

Yeah, I hated when I went to the computer lab and only Mac stations were available. I wasted half the time just trying to figure out how to do something.

Yay! Lights are useful since the PP moonlight ride goes through parts of the park that are pitch black. Just an FYI to all other riders thinking about doing the ride.

By real bikers, do you mean the guys in flip flops on fixies, the girls on hybrids wearing full length down coats or the guy that wrapped his drops w/ duct tape and innertubes (aka Air)?
I ride an '06 Diamondback hybrid. I feel like a tool on it...wish it was a true "roadbike." I am always afraid I'm going to get laughed off the streets for my big, fat tires. I bought it less than a year ago when I first started riding again (before that, I hadn't ridden since I was 11 or 12). I threw some fenders and a rack on it and used it to commute to work in Buffalo. Now I'm afraid that all the cooler bikes won't want to hang out with mine :(

Yay!! I'm the girl on the hybrid wearing...a sweater! That makes me feel better. Do I have to get the down coat to fit the stereotype, or can I mix and match? I like duct tape, it's shiny...

That's a sweet bike, Eboo! Nice color, too. fsm's right. If they laugh, drop 'em! :D
I always tell people, "It's ok to make fun of the engine, but do not diss the train." ;)
Thank you...I like the color a lot, I just get self-concious about my big ol' tires. I can't exactly "drop" anyone on them, so I've been thinking about putting some skinnier ones on them. I want to go FAST. But I do love them on my pothole-ridden street.
