I'd offer to go stalking her and steal the chocolate while she's not looking, but somehow I get the feeling I don't know if I could keep up with the runnning. Cycling may or may not be a problem, but running. oh no. definitely not that. Swimming, nhuh uh. <BubblesSound>Help I'm drowning </BubblesSound>

That you are willing to try if you weren't predestined to fail means a lot, Tex. :D

OMG YOUR RIDE IS TOMORROW? OMG ITS TIME TO PANICAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is here to balance the percentage of caps
Haha. Very funny. TG, I saw that!
Panicking uses energy. I have to be conserving energy, not expending it panicking.
In my spare time, I'm studying the route profile to familiarize myself as best as possible with the course.

Just start pedaling at the start and don't stop til you get back to your car. My ride's on Sun. and includes a bunch of bridges and 10,000 maniacs clogging up the roadways of NYC. Think I'll breakout a 10,000 Maniacs CD now...
[e] I'm also planning on riding my fixie so once I start riding, I'll have to complete approximately 11,694 pedal revolutions before I reach the end. That's if I did the math right.

There are no dove bars here *pushing dove bars behind me.* It was a vicious and unfounded rumor.
How far you going tomorrow? I probably missed something and should backread but figured I wouldn't.

No Dove bars? What's this world coming to?
Well, if I make all the time cutoffs at the checkpoints and complete the full ride, it's 114 miles, with 12,000 vertical feet of climbing. The ride is Breathless Agony (http://www.breathlessagony.org/), which is billed as the toughest century in Southern California. Terry Morse, the "climbing fool" who frequents the Road Cycling forum, even decided to do the ride because it seemed challenging and because the name just sounded so cool. :)
I'm also planning on riding my fixie so once I start riding, I'll have to complete approximately 11,694 pedal revolutions before I reach the end. That's if I did the math right.
So a bit over 2 hours' ride time, assuming 80-90 RPM average. Have fun. :) I expect a full report when I check back in upon returning from my weekend adventures.

More like 3-5 hrs. If the front of the pack moves faster than the cops are prepared for or the cops fall behind schedule, you end up waiting for them to close off the bridges and highways. Add in the rest stops every 10-15 miles or so and the legions of slow riders and all of a sudden you're averaging 10 mph. It's a ride, not a race and a chance to ride on the roadways of the highways and bridges so I'm not interested in going that fast.

I'm trying to keep up with this thread and, at the same time, motivate myself to mow the lawn and clean up my Cannondale. Me no wanna!:( Ah, well, if I do it today, I can relax a bit this weekend maybe.
Oh, gotta move my modem and computer, so if you guys don't see me online by next week, send out a search party. TG knows the place...Lex, too, I suppose..;)

Before I disconnect, I just wanted to say that, Lex, didn't you say you're blonde? I always thought you were a redhead, but that's just because your name reminds me of Lex Luthor, whose had red hair initially. Hmm, are you bald, maybe?;)

Good night all:)
Okay, finally leaving the office. (Got a bit sidetracked, so it took a lot longer than I thought.) Time to go grab a big dinner, then go pack everything. And shave off weight wherever possible. Do I really need on my keychain my electronic one time pad that generates one time use passwords for a certain e-mail account that I'm not checking this weekend? Do I really need to be carrying that second credit card?
I'm off for real now. Have a great ride on Sunday, jyo. And have a great weekend, everyone. :)
