Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

just got back from test riding an Orbea Orca.....price tag $5500.00.....
Didn't you mention that bike last week? Hanging out with the SoCal crowd is dangerous. We're kind of obsessed with our toys.

im eain popcorn. orville redenbakakakakakakenchckanecnher's.
By the way, for $5500, you could buy a Cervelo R3 with money to spare. $3800 for the Ultegra package. A bit heavier, but with the wonderful stiff yet comfortable ride of the R3. $4800 for the DuraAce package. For a few hundred more ($4400 for the Ultegra package, $5400 for the DuraAce package) you could buy a Cervelo Soloist Carbon.

Or you can buy a used F4i or R6 and have A LOT more fun. I'm sorry.....but $5,500 for a bike is just mind boggling!

I just watched Biodome. What a stupid movie. But it was still fun to watch. Last time I saw it was 11 years and 3 days ago if I remember correctly, because it came out the day I turned 10 and I went to go watch it.
For a buck for a VHS copy I just had to buy it.
One of my housemates rented Flight of the Navigator yesterday. Now that's a ****ty movie, but funny as hell at the same time.
Get in the RALF unit. :roflmao:

So these little punks try to rip off my work today and get busted. In handcuffs and on the way back in, they are shouting "please let me bring my bike in, PLEASE!" So I go to look and there is a Redline and a Huffy sitting there outside the entrance. I bring them in *thinking, hmmmmmmmmm. Redline* and say to the punks "So wait. You want me to bring them in so nobody steals them from you?" "Yeah. I paid over a thousand for it." "Oh I get it. You don't want anyone to steal from you but you'll steal from me. Gotcha."
I soooooooooo badly wanted to hide that Redline just to freak him out.

You know, I actually prefer Ultegra to DA...not sure why, but the bikes I've ridden with Ultegra just felt better. I didn't like the fat top tube of the orca. Just didn't feel right for some reason..

That would have been cool. Even better would be to leave the wheels, and saddle and taken that beautiful frame!! It was like a polished chrome........

+1
Because it works just as good for half the price. Dura Ace sacrifices durability for weight. At 205 I need durability. Even pro racers specify Ultegra casettes and chain despite the fact that their equipment comes free.
GG
Siu... Your new bike coming in anyday now? Looking foward to seeing it.

I`ll even go a step further and say 105 is excellent stuff. 105 will last 10,000 miles in training/race service but it gets a bad rap because normal people can afford it. I actually think the price of 105 is subsidized by the exorbitant costs of Dura-Ace.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Ultegra. That said, aside from a more positive, substantive feel to the shifter, I find it hard to imagine how one would feel any difference in the drivetrain. And that said, I admit I don't expect to get another bike with Ultegra. Either Tiagra (perfectly functional) or DuraAce (for my lightweight toys) for me now on.

Yep. Custom. Only nine weeks left out of 12.

Wow....thats gotta be tough. I had to wait 8 weeks for a custom guitar once...it was almost more than I could handle. Hang in there , it`ll be here before you know it.

Sucking on a candy hanging out. I got another letter from my friend who's on his mission. I've never read anything filled with so much excitement in my life. I hope he enjoys it in brazil.

+1 , a little beefier than DA. Worth the minimal weight difference, IMO.

Most of my sleeves are either cotton or a blend of cotton + magic synthetic material. I imagine they're a lot more comfortable than a plastic sleeve. Probably breathe better, too. You can find them at the shirt store. They come in pairs and are usually attached to a torso section, but you can easily detach them with a set of crossed pivoting blades.
just do not use bipedal motion at a high rate while digitally manipulating said crossed pivoting blades. I have been repeatedly cautioned by my maternal progenitor that said action could result in permanent trauma to my ocular receptors.

Hey Foosters!!
Today is my last full day at my current job. Half day tomorrow, then I start my new job on Monday! WoooWhoooo!! Been riding my bicycle a lot and getting out on my new motorcycle as well. That's why I haven't been on Foo much lately. I also have a date Friday. Happy days...happy days....
morning foo.
i just crawled out of bed to check my mail if any of my TAs have contacted me back. with this cold i haven't been able to attend class. this is one of the worst colds ive ever had. i asked my friend who is a pharmacist to recommend some meds so maybe ill venture outside to get them. we shall see. other than that, ive been trying to stay as hydrated as possible.
well, i hope everyone has a good day. good luck on the date tomorrow cycle17. blonduathlongrl, that kinda sucks that you have a wedding and a race on the same day. personally, i would race and still be late for the wedding.
*crawls back into bed* Ciao.

You know, everyone will be watching the bride in this huge production. They probably won't even miss you, and certainly will never remember your absence. Just race, and read about the shebang in the paper on Sunday. ;)
Alternatively, you could wear your racing gear under your clothes, fake extreme nausea, then head straight to the race and be ready for warm-up when you arrive! :D
Hi, Ms. Gio! <wavin'> Sorry you still feel so crappy. :o

Then you'll have to make yourself throw up before you leave the house. He'll see that you're sick, and go without you. ;) Then you head to the race! :D
Seriously, that just sucks.
