Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
That's pretty funny, Lex. I was just about to mention how much I liked that character.;)
Figures. :D He seriously made my skin crawl.

That thread is going too fast for me to keep up but Siu's broken wrist story is very impressive. You should not escape. You should embrace the thread. Or you could hang out here with me where I will make peanut butter smoothies and send them through the tube.
I'd love to, and love you for the smoothies offer, but I have to get to bed before it gets too late today. Just part of workin' nights....

Understandable. Sleep well. I can toss you a stern *no water, no story, get your tush in bed" mommy look if that helps. :D

Hmmm I dunno, maybe when inorganic chemistry is too involved in the process. The inorganic chemistry that doesn't let tomatoes go bad after keeping them for weeks in the fridge, that makes them completely tasteless and that also turns apples into perfect, spotless, blemishless, waxed little balls. At least that's what I understand as 'inorganic' produce... :o Sorry for the rant (which is not aimed at you :] ) but the lack of taste in the fruits and vegetables sold massively in this coutry is something I just can't get used to :(
You need to buy locally from a farmer's market or coop or whatever. The problem is any produce shipped long distances has to be very tough, which usually means a combination of being bred for toughness and/or looks at the expense of taste, and being picked green (because fully ripe fruits usually bruise easier than slightly green ones).

Good Aftternoon, everyone in the Bikeforums nation.
I got some rest after my training in the Central Maine hills. Thanks for all your support, whether or not Pepsi agrees with you. Over the three days I was gone, I put in a total of about 60+ miles. After arriving on Friday, I put in a 22-mile sprint at speeds between 15-30 MPH. Saturday's was a 40-mile ride of mostly climbing innumerable hills of varying steepness but also included a 10-mile sprint between 15-35MPH. On Sunday, I did a few easy miles before having to return to Portland.
I'm taking it easy for now in my daily life before I head out on another and more challenging training trip. This one will be on Mount Desert Island. For those of you who don't know, it's located on Maine's east coast and is the place where America's day really does begin. The hills are higher and steeper with additional miles of off-road riding. While there, I will stay in a comfortable bed-and-breakfast and eat well in Bar Harbor. The trip will help finish getting me in shape as well as preparing me for the Trek Across Maine in June.
Meanwhile, I'll take care of some bills, arrange for an appointment, and a few other things.
Have a good day, everybody.

I've been spoiled most of my life. We always grew our own vegetables. I wish I could still do that.

Going up Cadillac Mtn? What off-roading is there besides the carriage paths? I'd love to go back and do some serious riding there in the summer.

My trip to Mount Desert Island includes riding up Cadilac Mountain. I've been there before and have been able to ride up without stopping. Serious headwinds, though. Aside from the carriage paths, there have been some places I've found for off-roading just by chance.

Glad you have no new cavities, jyo. :) Having a somewhat slow--but suspenseful--day at work. And got in touch with dog hair. We're thinking of attempting a Palomar century (up and down Palomar mountain 4 times) on May 28. If so, I'd better get in shape FAST! Palomar's overall stats are comparable to Baldy's, though a bit more even in grade, with no nasty portions.

BDG: It's a good thing you run and ride so much cuz there's no way you could eat that much and not gain weight. Especially the stuff you eat. Eating nachos and mozzarella sticks again?
jsc: Good thing you started training again. The pre-breaky rides'll whip you into shape and they sound like fun too.
I'm watching Gilmore Girls cuz nothing else is on. It's the season finale. I never liked Lorelei.
