Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Heading to the hospital to pick up my wife!!!! :)
Hopefully she can finally break this cycle of migraines. As a conservative figure, I believe she has lost a year out of her life (in bed, at the doctor, in the ER, in the hospital) due to migraines.
<edit>...of course, I probably cause half of them...

I hope she has broken it too, R-dad. How miserable for her. I'll think good, happy, painfree thoughts for her.

Getting ****faced right now.
I decided to use my butterfly knife learning method on the guitar (get sloshed enough to not care about any screwups anymore, I found I learn things like this best when I can get past my inner perfectionist)
So, here's the second pint, and onto the fourth :) CHEERS!

OK, no more pints...now my knuckles are starting to get raw (knuckles keep rubbing up on the strings)......joy....oh well, some time and I can get back to it.

Just relaxing after my first 51 km ride after (March/07) surgery for colorectal cancer.
We have had three www.warmshowers.org guests in the last few days. Rob (a physics/chemistry teacher from Ontario) has been travelling the world for 5 1/2 years and just back into Canada Tuesday. He regaled us with inspirational stories of cycling adventure :) before setting off to Vancouver on Wednesday. Last night two more adventurers, David (a retired graphic artist from South Africa) and Christian (a Swiss computer programmer) arrived on the first day of their world trip. Having started in Vancouver they are staying with us tonight before setting off up the back roads of Vancouver Island on their way to the Port Hardy ferry to Prince Rupert then Alaska.
This morning the three of us took a relaxed ride around the Victoria waterfront, a short detour up Mount Tolmie, then out around Mount Doug and home. My first 50+ km ride since surgery, and my first serious bit of climbing. The legs performed very well, I feel very capable of the 2 x 100 km ride (my recovery goal) coming up in September. Ah, more training in the sunshine :D

Right now?
Waiting for game two of doubleheader between the Bosox (http://www.soxaholix.com/) and the Braves.
I'm also trolling Yankee message boards, so as to lap up their sweet tears.

MMM- sounds good! Have you tried the no-boil lasagna pasta? You just layer it in and it cooks ion the sauce. For a sliperry=pasta challeneged boy like me, it's a blessing (and tastes pretty decent too).
Just finished a pot of homemade chunky wild mushroom soup and oven-roasted fingerling Yukon Gold potatoes with garlic and cracked black pepper.

Just got back from a really good, butt-kickin' 35-mile ride. Averaged 17.2mph on those hills, best average ever on that route. In spite of a loaner wheel from the LBS (after I put my foot down, they decided to warranty my front wheel and see what Mavic will do about it). I mean, bike wheels are not meant to move laterally while rolling.
Islandboy! I'll drop you a PM soon. :o Your story of recovery and perserverence is beautiful and inspiring. And I thank you for sharing it with me. :)
And now, Foo, I am gonna shower and go to bed. A good ride must be followed by a good night's sleep. Or so I'm hopin'. Got to get over this bad bump on my road, and soon. :(
G'night! :) <wavin' and slinkin' with cold beer to shower>

I was looking for Mountain bike action(I know I know, mba sucks) in longs, and I couldn't find it. I then noticed it behind some crappy magazines, so I proceeded to grab every mtb magazine and put them in front of home and garden or whatever was there. *snickers* :D

Watchin' SNL. If you left-coasters are still up (like donna :)) check out the Robert Smigel cartoon - it'll give you a totally new perspective on the presidential candidates :D :D
I'm having trouble getting myself to want to sleep even though I'm supposed to be up in about 4 hours to prepare for a BikeForums group ride. Maybe I should try singing PATH's Foo lullaby to myself.
Good morning Foo. I've been up for an hour now, and I'm about to head to the SoCal BikeForums group ride of the day. (linky (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=286595)) Looks to be a great ride.

Hey you guys! Do you remember the tortoise I wanted so bad and everyone talked me out of it?
Well I found out that there was this whole smuggling ring going on. The guy made $70,000 off of 120 tortoises.
Dang.
My eyes are leaking tears. Must be my allergies.
About to lurk road section, been doing that lately.
