Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Sometimes you just gotta leave the computer at home and go ride your bike for as long/short and fast/slow as you want. Wether you go for a coffee or do your own personal century doesn`t mater. Don`t let numbers spoil your fun.

All the axles are metal (some steel wire), and the pendulum is paper, and the weights are paper towel rolls filled with sand.
That's how you adjust it. Add or dump sand from the weights to make it run faster or slower.
That's a pretty cool design. Again, I look forward to some pics. :)

Hey bayb, I been lurking but not postin` as much as I like because the tree care season is in full swing( I have 2 jobs this time of year). I`m also out ridin a lot too. I have a long weekend so I got some extra time to Foo around. I`ll be changing planes in CLT next week to visit my folks in Ga., . Good chance I`ll be in CLT for a few weeks in Sept/Oct. I was sposed to be there in July/Aug but I squeazed out of that duty. Western Pa has turned me into a "heat sissy".

Hah! How silly is that?
Still lookin' forward to sittin' and talkin' fer a spell, and splittin' a bottle of CatDaddy. :) After you tell me what the hell is goin' on with a couple of trees along the creek behind my house!
Any chance of meetin' for a few minutes at CLT next week? Only about 20 minutes from my house. <shrug>

1. I can always draft to keep up
2. Likewise
3. Probably a good chance if I can schedule in a layover
4. Trees???? What species? Dry spring season? I`ll work for a gravey biscuit and dirty rice;)

Go me.
I did that once....week before my wedding.....it was not a good thing.

How did it turn out?
Anywho, I'm thinking about hitting the hay in a bit. I've been up since 9am and I'm pooped. I had a great movie night. I ended up watching 4 great movies:
Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2.
Moulin Rouge
Singin' in the Rain.
Good night everyone and sweet dreams. Buona notte. Ciao.

It came out okay...I have to straighten it religiously, so it'll look even better then.
Singin' in the Rain is one of my favorite movies evar.
Ciao!
I think I'm going to turn in early myself. Woke up at 7:15 this morning, then proceeded to tire myself out quite thoroughly.
Goodnight, Foo inhabitants.

Ms Gio: Singing In The Rain. I loves me the classics. :)
FS, baybuh, no need to shave. Hair grows back. Just keep a mindful trim on it every month. ;)
G'night, x! :)
Edit: 2:45am. Time for me to hit the proverbial hay. So tired. But I caught up on the ongoing and new threads. Have a lot to do tomorrow. My back is against the wall, and I must get some unpleasant things done tomorrow so that I can get them to court on Tuesday (probate-related). Wish me luck! :o
Next long ride: Tuesday. Please, Foo, help keep me upbeat 'til I can ride again. Ridin' is my drug, and it's a good one. :D
For now, g'night. :) <slinkin' off to bed>

Happy Memorial Day Monday everfoody! Getting ready to go on a ride....the third in a row....eek! Only a 30-miler today; let see how these legs will hold up, shall we?
Just checking in from the lab again. Last day of work today, then I have 3 days off in a row. I'll have to think of something fun to do.

One of the issues with my life right now (it will be history as of the end of September) is that I have one foot in the USA and one foot here in Costa Rica. Therefore, the only holidays I have are those that are in both country - I think Christmas and one other.
Not feeling as bad as I fear after yesterday - perhaps I am in pretty good shape. I didn't exactly spring out of bed this morning though. :D

Well I had a great day as usual. Sunday rode 108kms in the beautiful mountains that surround my city, and today 30kms on the flat (well mostly) to recover. Feeling great right now and can't wait to ride tomorrow. I love my life.:)

8-12 hours of sleep for 3 nights in a row. I'm not sure what to do with all this newly found energy. :)
Trying to decide what to blog about on the RAAM blog today. I'm trying to keep it updated everyday until we leave, and then I'll be posting pics and updates from the road. The next two weeks are going to fly by so quickly.
Dang I need someone to crack my back.. :( I never should have picked up a 50 pound weight in each arm. I felt a pop while I was walking.
Oh and my friend in Brazil sent me a lavender/blue tie. 2 dollars american. Isn't it..... beautiful....

Well, so much for the Gandalf look. My wife has managed to convince the help to get me a visit from a local hairdresser. If you can't bring Mohamid to the mountain. One of the nice things about this country is everyone still believes in house visits - including doctors.

30 miles wouldn't be too bad if I didn't have to climb over 3000' to do it. Actually, I'm looking at more like 15 miles or an easy hour of riding just to get the legs moving.
I finally got around to fixing the ID3 tags on my MP3s. The Eagles' Hell Freezes Over is no longer known as Artista Desconocido's Faixa, and artists with more than one album are no longer listed separately due to a slight difference in capitalization.

Just came back from having Trinity take me for a walk. She's in the midst of learning how to "heel". She would do real good until a leaf would blow by. Whoooooooooooa!!!!!!!!! I think she's gonna be a chaser. And she loves going through water sprinklers. And picking up every stick she could find. Good thing I didn't take the other two.
Now I have to hurry and get ready for work.
See you all tonite!

recovering from "sprint day".,...if that's what you call it....i did about 15 100m sprints....averaging about 27ish thru all of them...so basically i am weak....i can ride and average 16-18 all day in the hills of socal but my explosive sprint is only like 10mph faster........obviously need to work on those...
cool thing is my heart jumps to 180 right at then end of the sprint and drops to 140ish within 20-30 seconds...that's ok right?

I just saw my grandma who seems to be getting worse. Lungs look worse than before on her recent xray, and she's started having heart problems, probably from not being able to exercise like she normally does.
I can honestly say I'd rather blow my head to bits than have to have help taking a ****, but she can handle it.
They still don't know whats wrong for sure, and they'll be doing another biopsy procedure as early as tomorrow, this time going in by opening up her chest.

Yep, it sure sucks.
In other lousy news, my wheel well is rusting out from the inside. I'm gonna have to cut the rusted part off, then weld some sheet metal in place. Guess it makes sense, 12 year old car. At least I've always made sure there was no external rust.

Sorry to hear that. Is she, by chance, intubated? And how old is your gm?
Mich, you'd be surprised at how your thinkin' might change if you were really in that position. The desire to live, so primitive and fundamental, can really lead one to put up with various "indignities" that one never thought possible. I've seen this firsthand. And I was the one who helped.

+1. And that's not meant as an insult or anything negative, Mich - just an observation that we all have more strength and flexibility in us than we might think, and that no one really knows how they will respond to life's major challenges until we are faced with them.
In the meantime, heaping loads of healing Foo-energy comin' at you, your grandmother, and the rest of your family, Mich. I know this hits you in a deep, personal place. I hope you and she find the strength and serenity to face whatever comes, good, bad or indifferent.

Pretty bored tonight. Sitting here watching TV (flipping thru channels) ... or at least I'm watching 3/4's of my TV screen. My road bike wheel is blocking 1/4 of the screen. Too lazy to get up and move the bike ... Wait, Miss Universe is on. Swim suit competition is on next after the commercials. Maybe I'll have to get up and move the bike after all :D

Mid 80's, and yep, she's got all kinds of tubes in her, if thats what you mean.
I suppose I can't say for sure what I'd do if I got that messed up, but on the one occasion where I actually thought I was going to die, I wasn't scared, and I've never imagined myself being afraid of dying. I have no desire to die early, but I hate even less of a desire to be in need of help to use the bathroom and eat and stuff like that.
Time will tell I guess.
