Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello, all. Hope all is well today for you. I can't spend much time online as I'm packing to leave for about a week for a bicycle vacation on Mount Desert Island.
Post pics when you get back and let us know how the riding and lobsters are!

Yay! Our lab's monthly donuts (to celebrate the birthdays for the month) is today. :D Time for a second breakfast. One advantage of 40-odd people in the lab is that statistically, we're very likely to have a birthday every month.
The last place I worked at did a birthday cake for each person that had a birthday that month. We were eating cake at least once a week. Sometimes that's all I'd eat for the day.

Hello, all. Hope all is well today for you. I can't spend much time online as I'm packing to leave for about a week for a bicycle vacation on Mount Desert Island. The eye doctor says it's OK for me to go as long as I follow the prescription he gave me. I'm including my rain suit just in case there is inclement weather. The only thing in that event is that I cannot wear my ocutech (eyeglasses with mounted telescope) so I will just make myself more visible, take it easier, and not ride like a bat out of hell. Should it be too wet, there are plenty of things I can do while staying in Bar Harbor.
Coffee...It's good depending upon how it's made. I like it too.
Thanks for all the moral support from everyone...You know who you are.

Good luck, have fun.
Sounds awesome, powerhouse. Have fun. :)

Of course.. the only coffee I've tried is mcdonalds lol.
BLEH! I think that was the first coffee I ever tried as well!
My bf used to hate coffee, but now he is addicted to lattes. Try one with carmel and vanilla syrup, you might just like it! Oh, and white chocolate mochas are to die for. :)

Mine, I took him down.
He has a long torso and long legs too, actually. His head is relatively small for his body, but that's about it. He's a big guy. :)

Jeez. How many drives do you have?
4 hard drives on each computer. well actually 3 on one and 4 on the other. The one that has 4 has a raid controller which I think the hard drives are on and the IDE still works, but I have no power supply connectors and i dont think the poor power supply could handle a dvd burner .
The one that has 3 also has an PCI IDe controller, however the onboard IDE is shot and can't be used. I think I might have one spare power cable on that one, however I think they are all out of reach. Needless to say the power supply on that one is in no better condition as the other one either.
The sad thing, for my future system (whenever i finally decide what components I want), is that it seems most components now require ALOT more power and the power supplies aren't that much more powerful.

Heh. Women and foreign accents. *swoons*
Oh, come on! Y'all are kidding, right?!

With a little lemon juice and a few other things, you could make bathtub guacamole and run it across the border. :D

Only three drives in one of your computers?! :p Okay, so my iMac only has one drive. But my semi-retired computer from when I was in college has 3 drives, and I would expect you to beat that! A 4 GB 5400 RPM SCSI drive on the built-in fast SCSI (10 MB/s max) chain (along with a SCSI Zip drive and a CD-ROM). Two 4.5 GB 7200 RPM drives connected to an UltraWide SCSI card (40 MB/s max). There were four fans dedicated to simply cooling those two 7200 RPM drives. All three drives are AV-rated. I have room for four more internal drives. Five if I get rid of the Zip drive. But I'd have to swap out the old drives for newer ones that are a bit less power hungry and that generate a bit less heat. And even then I'm not sure my power supply could spin all of them up concurrently.
Back then, I was thrilled to see sustained reads and writes of about 30 MB/s on my scratch partition. (The outermost 20% of my 7200 RPM drives in a RAID 0 config.) Of course, nowadays, a single drive can easily beat that. And the built-in external SCSI port (not sure if it's fast SCSI or just SCSI at 5 MB/s) is connected to a scanner. Probably the most wasteful use of a SCSI port short of not using it. :p
