Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
x, that is classy. Now we just need two roof-mount bike racks, and one for the front and back, and we're set. :D
I think that's doable. Might even be able to fit three racks on top, for a total of six (nine?) bikes on top, plus three or four on a hitch-mount rack on the back. That's more bikes on the outside than people on the inside!

Heh. Not if we all get Foo-cozy. :D
I'm up for it. :D
Woo, party at Ms. Gio's place!
Speaking of which, how many extra beds do you have available? After kitting out the VW and spending all kinds of money on gas, we might be a bit tapped out by the time we get there... ;)

Well, I do live in an apartment with my parents and my brother. I do not know what my parents would think to see a VW van pull up in front and have a body of people pour out. I could totally see my mom fainting. :p I wouldn't mind maybe getting a couple of hotel rooms. I could only imagine what kind of stuff would happen.

Hmm, true. Get the right vintage VW, and it won't have come with, nor will it require seatbelts. Of course, no air conditioning either, but that's why all of those windows tilt open. :D

Good morning Foo. I'm currently getting ready for my fun filled day. Hopefully, the weather will hold up. Apparently, its going to be close to 90 with some clouds then after 6pm or so all hell is going to break loose. Have a good one everyone. See you all when I get back.
BTW, last night's talk about a road trip is still fresh in my head. That would be amazing if it did happen. :p:D

Good morning, All Of Foo! How is everyone on this nearly end-of-week day? [edit: The weather report for today says "Abundant sunshine." Wow. Too bad it doesn't also say "Completely still, no wind whatsoever!"]
It's almost time to start packing for the All Coasts To Chicago 2007 roadtrip! Who's ready?

hey foo! been really busy at work and home and haven't checked in lately...hope everyone is doing well.
minor setback in my knee due to going out and riding a route with some long hills and wind on monday...but, i'll eventually get back to 100%..
16.5 miles, 1:17:10. :o VegaVixen rides at nearly twice that speed.
Well... my new route has something like 2000 feet of climbing in it. That should help beat me into climbing shape in no time. Hopefully by end of summer I'll be down to about 1:05. Oh, who am I kidding? :( I'll settle for 1:10. Oh, what the heck... might as well set bold goals. :) 1:05.

Heh. jschen, I thought you only did century rides?
I like long rides on days off, but not riding during the week (various excuses, not all of them very good) is killing my speed. Gotta get back in shape. Still plan on doing long weekend rides.

what up foos..!!
so first day on the ride since the cold hit me....
rough...very rough...got rid of most of my lung funk on the ride...ie...hacking it up. couldn't get the heart rate up on climbs either...like 10bpm down on max...is that normal?
I'd think 10 down from max is plenty good if it's your first ride in a while. Of course... not using a HRM myself, I'm not exactly an authoritative source. ;)

 You have some hills out that way? :p
Sorry to hear about the knee. Don't forget, gf, next TT is in 20 days. :)
jschen, on my relatively flat terrain, I can average just shy of 18mph on the road. Put me on your very hilly routes, though, and I'd be lucky to keep you in sight. And my TT time is on an essentially flat asphalt track, and so the time I have there really means nothing on the road. You and BikeWNC just continually amaze me with your climbing prowess and stamina for long rides in mountainous areas. My lid's off to you both! :)

None. Though my right knee is a wee bit sore from slowin' the fixie last night. Actually, I tweaked my knee while shifting my position on the barstool last night, but I'm sure that ridin' that evil fixie precipitated it. :p
Hiya, BDG! :) <wavin' again>

If the fixie don't fit, you'll be hurtin' pretty quickly. But when it does, it's like buttah baby.

You mean if the gear isn't right? Can't remember polara's gearing. But it felt ok, especially since I was pedaling slowly on fairly level ground. It's the "coaster-brake-style" slowing that was new to my muscles, so I suspect I strained my right knee just a bit. :o
