I had the usual chicken sandwhich. I'm hoping i get down to academy and find a small fridge this weekend. This way I can start having more complex things then chicken sandwhiches.

Well, yea.....I'm allowed to be though. I run this operation. I am the Trump of stalking. This means you can be as stubborn as you want with everyone but me. :D
Eating a light lunch. Grilled cheese and fries. Gotta cut back on the food to make up for all that ice cream! :D
Apple's replacement for the iBook is out. Now that their entire laptop line has transitioned to the Intel processor, I know which one I really want. (Well, almost... I've narrowed it down to two choices.) But I want to wait for the next generation Core processor. Maybe this fall, if the next gen processor's out by then. Plus, the next major update to the OS will be out by then. I don't really need a new laptop, but with the ability to dual boot into Windows (and run Windows at full speed), it would allow me to have my Mac and yet still have access to all the top games. :D Of course, buying a new PS3 this winter would be cheaper, but I'd be in the market for a laptop in a year or so anyway.

Well, I've raced alleycats, but I don't normally, because I live in a little town. And in reality, most people have no idea what the whole messenger culture is, but there are a few who ride fixed in town, so it would be a kind of introduction to alleycats to most folks. I'm always down for a party/movie afterward. good idea!
Sounds like if you get a few friends together that ride, and make the checkpoints interesting, you could have a good time. One checkpoint I lucked out at was the Trivia Pursuit checkpoint. I managed to spit out correct answers 67% of the time.
I just went to grab ice cream bar #4, only to find that they had packed up already. Darn... I should have paid closer attention to the event schedule. Oh well... three free ice cream bars in one day isn't too bad.

I think Alton Brown is the Devil...culinarily speaking, that is. His show always makes me hungry, and it's not like you can use ignorance as an excuse 'cause he shows you how to make whatever dishes he's explaining.
I'm BFing(got home early from work), gonna make some juice, toss some chicken in the crockpot, and check my email. I'm trying to decide whether to look at my "to-do" list. I don't really want to do anything right now. Might catch up on the Cash In The Attic episodes I've been recording...the British version.

Poor Jyo, as much as I like the show last night's episode sucked AND was a rerun. Next season isn't going to be as family oriented which is sad....very sad.....:(

LOVE Cash in the Attic really good show......well, except when the annoying blonde woman hosts.....but the male host is very likable......or lickable......something like that. :D
I hate Iron Chef America but Alton Brown is just shocking in his knowledge of food on the show. It scares me.

You're in NH, right? So it's not like our climates tend to be that diverse. Sucks for both of us. :D
On the upside, word is that we're supposed to have a mild, dry, summer. Of course, the word comes from the front desk receptionist and I have no idea of where she got the information.

Well, the blonde has actually grown on me a bit, but that could be because the one I watched this morning was hosted by some annoying blonde guy that seems a bit too "fabulous.";) I miss Alistair. Then again, my DVR is half full of Cash In The Attic episodes. Maybe they're pulling hosts in off the streets to keep up.
I love Iron Chef America! One of the few shows I don't mind being Americanized. I just love seeing what everyone prepares and the judges' reactions. AB is just a bonus.:D

Isn't the blonde guy that hosts on occasion Paul Hayes - one of the appraisers and also on Bargain Hunt? He takes the whole "pretty boy of antiques" thing a bit seriously. Do you get the one hour shows or are you recording the half hour. I think it's so bizarre that they ransack someone else's house in the second half of the show to fund things like a face lift. LOL Btw....did you see the guy who collected irons? How crazy was that - especially as even the older ones weren't worth anything.
I'm a big Iron Chef fan but think they camp it up on the American version in a way that doesn't quite work. This, of course, doesn't mean that I don't still watch it. :D

No, no, this is a different host, like Alistair and Lorne only more annoying. My favorite appraiser is Jonty, of course, but I don't mind Paul. Oh, and I record both the hour and half-hour episodes. I wish that there was a U.S. version of "Bargain Hunt." I would LOVE to be on that show. I also like Jonty - he really tends to hit the prices right on....which is amazing in such a subjective business.
I haven't seen the blond guy then.....I don't think. Alistair hosted another show when an American woman would come into the homes of people trying to sell and help them stage their homes by being entertainingly brutal. He's just a really polished and compelling host.

I don't know that Bargain Hunt(or Cash In The Attic, for that matter) could do that well in NA. I mean, we don't really have much that's old enough to make money, do we? Bear in mind, however, that I haven't actually watched the American version of Cash In The Attic. I guess some colonial stuff and antiques brought over from Europe and Asia could make up the bulk of the money makers. Though, I do remember once, on Antiques Road Show, that a guy brought in an original Navajo blanket he had been using as an armchair cover. It was worth about a million bucks. I was afraid the old dude was gonna go into cardiac arrest when they told him.

I do think people who have been grounded in an area may have more stuff lying around their house that might be antique and worth something. Having said that, there are a lot of American antiques that are worth quite a lot that people use for everyday use - as with the Navajo blanket - so it could be interesting. I didn't know that there was an American version of Cash in the Attic. Sounds interesting. What channel is it on?

I don't know what channel it comes on. I kinda don't want to know. I haven't seen any adaptations of British shows that are as good as, much less better than, the original yet. It's the whole American entertainment mentality that bothers me, really. "Someone else did it and it was a hit! We should do the exact same thing...only make it suck really bad!"

Hey, as has been said before - there are no new ideas. LOL I just hate when they take a concept and really ruin it. "The Office" is a really good example of a Brit show translated and done well. Helps that they had the creator of the show on board probably. "Coupling" is a show that was good in Brit form but painful when translated.
I don't know what Bargain Hunt would be like without it's host - though DD is kind of off now and that annoyingly cheesy guy is the host, right? His name escapes me right now. I really think that Cash in the Attic is a show that would translate well. Without Alistair though.....*sigh*

The American version of the "The Office" is great. The characters - though the resemble the Brit characters in some ways - are so much their own that they really make the show work. Helps that the writing is excellent.
Do you watch "Escape to the County?" I love that show. So cool looking through all the houses.
