Working on simulations that don't want to work. It's 4:30 and I have two more to do. I think I'll half-ass 'em and clean it all up on Monday.
Hello Shadiyah!
That sounds like one of the best plans ever! Of course, when I used to half-ass things on a Friday, I'd usually forget to fix it on Monday.:o:lol:

Mmmmmmmmm reading about your juicing fills me with passion and envy!
:) I think it sounds delish! Great energy booster as well! :)
Yeah, it's funny how much better a simple glass of juice will make you feel. It's nice to have almost total control over what goes into it, too.
I can definitely see why there's no apple/spinach/carrot juice at the local supermarket, tho. The green from the spinach and orange from the carrot blend to make a lovely raw sewage brown color.

DONE!
A long week is over. It's sunny and in the 90s and is supposed to stay that way all weekend. At home I have a good book, a couple movies, a 6-pack of Trumer Pils, and an artichoke I've been meaning to cook. Before that, however, a ride. See you suckers later.
Have a good weekend. :)

Oh, I'm sippin' some sweet tea and playing Halo 2. Well, taking a quick break, actually. Way to spend a Friday night, huh?;) I had some Karldar's Crockpot Chicken Surprise earlier. I took about 3 lbs. of boneless, skinless chicken and dumped in my brand spankin' new 6 qt. crockpot. Then threw in some leftover apple slices, carrots, black olives, green beans, peas, spinach/ricotta tortellini, and saffron rice with salt/pepper/oregano/basil added to taste. Came out way better than I thought it would. I thought about calling it "Pantry Raid Chicken", but that's kind of risque.

I just finished my book and am watching "Most Haunted" and thinking it might be necessary to pick up another book before my brain melts.

Just got back from an extended dinner break (drove out to Julian, drove down the mountain to the other side, drove back to Julian, ate dinner, drove back to work) since I had a bunch of time to kill. Now time to finish off work for the night.

Back from my pre-breakfast ride. Feeling sluggish today--mid 1:07's--but that's okay. Just need to get some endurance in my legs for next Sunday, even if it's a bit slow. Palomar's not that steep.
Need to shower off, eat, and then start thinking about going to work.

Diet jsc. Not to lose weight, but to get the right kind of fuel into your system. A good night's sleep is also mandatory.
I'm just chillin' before I go out for a ride to Brooklyn for hand made ice cream, Jacques Torres chocolate and a race.

Got to do a little food shopping this afternoon also. Otherwise, it's nice to see the sun out!! Hope you all have a nice weekend!:D

Whew! I just got back from the Superheroes alleycat where I didn't race. Instead, I manned one of the checkpoints and signed the racers manifests. Then I went to the after party and mingled w/ the racers and had a couple drinks. All-in-all, a good time was had by all.
Now I'm just kickin' back and chillin'. And Karldar, the chocolate ice cream was delicious! And I bought Jacques Torres Wicked Hot Chocolate mix with chili peppers in it. :D

Hello, Everyone of Bikeforums. I hope things were OK during my absence.
In case you haven't heard, we've had extremely wet weather which washed out my plans of the bicycling vacation I told you I was about to take. Here in Maine, 12 inches of rain fell in Portland. This same, rainy weather washed out bridges and dams all over New England. My trip has been postponed with hopes of better weather next time. Nonetheless, I trained in Central Maine hills and lost 10 LBS in the process!
It's late here in the city of Portland and I'm really tired. I'll get back to this in the morning after a good, long, sleep tonight.

Freaking weather forecasters can't get it right to save their lives. It was supposed to rain later today. So I went out to run a couple errands. I didn't even get to the first store before it started raining. I locked up under some scaffolding to keep my Brooks from getting drenched, shopped, then hung out til the rain stopped. Hopped back on, went to the next store and it started drizzling more before I got there. Locked up under a canopy and went shopping. Came out and it had stopped. Riding home it started again. But all is good. My LBS adjusted the saddle and now it's perfectly comfortable and I'm not sliding forward anymore. It feels great.
Back from my Sunday ride. I'm tired. By the way, horses evidently love the smell of Clif Bars.

How far and how long?
70 miles, about 5400 vertical feet, 5.5 hours. The weather changed as the day went, and the wind and the cold really beat me up for the last 20 miles. Good thing those 20 miles are largely flat or downhill. I took 1.5 hours for those 20 miles. Here's a route description ( http://ucsdcycling.org/modules.php?name=Routes&route=6) if you're curious.
Oh, and the ride report is here ( http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=197652).

I'm sitting around waiting for my Pizza Hut order (Meat Lover's). No jalapenos and beer tonight... have to go in to work later. At least it's quick... I figure it will take 10 minutes tops, not counting all the time I might spend there because my modern computer currently is at my desk at work, connected to a high speed connection.
Meanwhile, I'm on a modem connection on an old laptop using an old browser that can't even properly handle the PM that I just got. (Can read PM's. Can't respond.) I don't even view images when I'm on my laptop in order to help speed things up a bit.
Speaking of pizza... pizza just came. I know, jyo, you disapprove of Pizza Hut pizza. But you haven't yet invited me over to dine on your fine dinners.

You deserve a bunch of calories after your ride so it's good to treat yourself, even if it's Pizza Hut. Ever try a frozen pizza? You can buy the the frozen pizza dough thingies and make your own pizza. Plum tomatoes, basil, mozzarella, prosciutto, garlic, salt & pepper and you're done. It's the next best thing to making your own pizza dough.
I love my Brooks B17 as well. Although I haven't really broken it in yet (under 100 miles on B17), I can tell that it got a lot softer than when it was brand new. I had issues with sliding forward as well....but I just tilted the nose up a notch and it feel good now.
To be honest, since I haven't ridden much this year, I know what I really enjoy. I'm not one to really push myself (bad knees)......but the rides that I really enjoy are rides with friends who are on Mtn bikes around the city. We go at a really really slow pace (10MPH). I feel I can go on forever at that pace. We just cruise along and chat & check out babes. Then occassionally we would crank it up and do sprints that will get us winded. But we'll slow back way down to recover. But to me, those are the best rides. No destination. No time limitation. No worries. Just carefree riding in good weather.
Cycling at a pace that's faster than jogging, but much slower than other people on bikes. It really puts me at ease. Even though I don't feel like I'm upping my speed, distance or endurance, quality time spent with friends makes it all worth while.
Keep pedalling on!

My legs hurt.
I ran 4 miles yesterday morning with you-know-who, then I went on a 50 mile training ride in the rain.
It wasn't raining hard enough to get the asphalt really wet, only hard enough to get me really wet.
Stupid rain.

K, you were doing some kind of simulations that weren't working right so you just cranked 'em out and put off fixing them 'til today. Hopefully that doesn't make you overly productive today.:p
Oh, and I made a physical shopping list last night. Even picked up everything on it this morning after work. Right now I'm checking email and whatnot before finishing up an episode of Cash In The Attic. Just finished my breakfast of eggs, bacon gravy and biscuits.:D
