Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I found when bored at work, nothing helps focus quite like climbing on top of a really sturdy desk and doing a 15min air guitar solo, sliding around on it like I actually had skills or something. Just don't get caught, they tend to frown on this....freaking haters, all of them.
Either that, or causing more trouble with the overhead pager....nothing is quite as awesome as using an Alan Greenspan soundboard over it, and the chaos that follows from people in other parts of teh building getting pissy over it (email: Who's blasting CNN over the phone system? STOP IT!") :p

BikeWNC, still planning on it. I need to change the oil in my car (hasn't been changed in three years, and it's kinda DARK when I check it.) I'll confirm with you in the next few days. I know you're planning to do it for "fun," which means you'll kick everyone's patooties. :D
Not sure yet about the RR the following day. If I don't do it, I'll do the Lake Norman Exorcism, uh, I mean, Excursion. :D But only the shortest leg.... (TT training, ya know)

Yes congrats, as well polara - nicely done.
Aww VV You are too kind; you should hear what the japanese in my company say about me
I believe it's time to add to the Nikko BF Sushifest impressions thread :D
btw VV's even better in person :)
<blush> :)
Stevesurf is just being nice. I was rather incoherent (or so I thought) during lunch. I still think I'm having some problems interacting with people who actually talk. :p
Steve, I look forward to riding with you next time. We'll get up a Foo group, and maybe a nice Foo lunch as well. If we can swing it right, we could have as many as 8 BF/Foo'ers present. :)

I am at my desk
I should be drinking right now
My job interferes
I am writing haiku
Poorly, though my very best
I want to go home
Edit- I seem to have posted this in the wrong thread, though conveniently it still applies.
I still think I'm having some problems interacting with people who actually talk. :pWait, you mean when you meet up with people from the internet, you don't all bring laptops and talk to each other in a chat room? You... talk? Aloud?

Annoying the roadies, Botto in particular:D
:roflmao:
x, I can't wait to meet you. You are precious. :)You laugh, but I found myself doing exactly that a few years ago. As the day wound to a close, we found ourselves sitting in the same room, sitting on computers, both talking in the same IRC channel. Granted, we were talking to other people as well, and we're both giant nerds, but still. It was funny.
When are you planning to be California-bound, anyway? Any vaguely specific plans, or is it a "someday" kind of thing?

I really do hope to get out for a quickie tour up the Left Coast in September. This is a continually-evolving plan, so I'll keep y'all informed.... :o
Ah, September is good. I'll pencil that in. *scribbles a large "VV" over the September page of the calendar*
Oh, crap, I don't have a calendar.

And, x, you know that's a loose plan? Depends on what I get done betwixt now and then. I do want to go visit Scotty and Michele, wherever she may be. I may be alone in this, as I know you guys have to work, but I want to do it while there.... :)

Right now I just got back from a light salad and risotto dinner in downtown Greenvile SC of all places - a very nice little town. Driving back from Charlotte to Greenville the four hours of sleep in the last two nights caught up w me and decided to catch a 'lil cat nap in the rental car while it rained cats and dogs. The result is that I will now be up all night
...and of course the hotel doesnt have Sci-Fi so I'm missing Dr. Who :(

I'm so sorry to hear about this - this is a pandemic of a different type; I think a great deal of people are being less concerned about cyclists more and more. The momentum needs to turn around.

Heh. Yeah. And I was able to hit HH for three Foster's, a random nacho from a friend's appetizer, and a single deep-fried pickle from that of another.... :D Heh. You wuss. :D But you didn't tell me you hadn't slept the two nights before! You dog! Shoulda told me so, and I wouldn't have felt so incoherent myself.... :o
Sorry about the missing Sci-Fi. You should learn to call or ask ahead, as I used to do when travelin' on company business. :D  Maybe next time, you should consider staying at the VV Hotel. You get your own bed and bath, and at least a continental breakfast the next morning. :)

But I'm a breakfast weirdo - I mix a different combo of cereals each trip. I have even been know to pack my own cereal in ziplocks; but I do share
I also have insomnia brought on by the unending desire to watch as much Sci-Fi as possible. If an info-mercial, wrestling, or a Presidential Address comes on, I fall instantly asleep :)
I am now attempting to rewire the cable feed and reprogram the tuner on the Hotel TV

Wolfpack - As horrible as the situation is... YOU can now feel a little safer knowing that statistically, once it has happened in your backyard, it won't happen again for quite sometime. It also raises public awareness of cyclists on the roads.
No consolation by any means, but you may think of this the next time you're out riding.

Wolfpack, PM me anytime. I know how that sudden trauma feels. And, cypress, you're right. Statististically, it won't happen again in any one's backyard, but it's still a good reminder to us all to remember to watch out for the cagers who aren't watchin' out for us.... :(
