Just got home from seeing Transformers and getting cake after. It was a good movie, I am just pretending it wasn't a transformers movie so it can't ruin my childhood
Should be getting to bed, need to be up early to head up Northish to Bolton for some preriding action. Bah. The internet is more fun.

Good evening Foo - people; just decompressing after the red-eye, followed by a webcast, followed by cleaning the cat-apartment. I brought home some tuna sushi and they attacked the bag directly, I was lucky to pull my yellowtail out in time - ferocious kitties!
I have to pack for Sunday's flight to Japan, the final trip for the year - thank god! When I return, I've already lined up a few nice rides...can't wait!
It was a good movie, I am just pretending it wasn't a transformers movie so it can't ruin my childhood :lol:It appears to me that it's just a big-budget, long-form car commercial (except the cars just happen to turn into robots sometimes). Just think of it as that! :p

The CG was impressive and it was quite pretty but your description was probably the most... accurate.
I definitely enjoyed it, it just wasn't a Transformers movie.
Did you like Go-Bots as a kid? If not, just pretend it was a Go-Bots movie.

I know some people who love theirs, too. Around San Diego, Spinergy Stealth PBO's can now be had for relatively cheap (might just be an SD-area thing, though) and are more aero, but I'm not completely thrilled about the hubs. And the wheel is a bit on the heavy side. Rolf Prima Vigors are pretty with their low spoke count paired spokes and about as aero as all aluminum clinchers get. I love my Elan Aero's very smooth hubs (extremely loud freewheeling, though) and 55/Rad is selling his set (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=317209). Of course, if a high quality tubeless tire comes along (I haven't checked to see what's out there or around the corner) it would be a big plus for the DA wheels.
I've thought about the Rolfs, but I am a bit concerned by the low spoke count. The DA wheels would be for all around use. I think for the flats a set of Mavic Cosmic Carbone SL would be hard to beat for aero performance for the money. On the flat the slow spin up would actually be an advantage and help conserve momentum.
I hear you about the concerns. Rolf spokes generally don't break, but if one ever breaks, you're walking home or calling for a ride. (Not only is it a low spoke count, but the spokes are extremely high tension and paired. If one goes, the other side has a sky high lateral pulling force that isn't countered on the other side. Evidently, a broken spoke means a rim more than 1 inch out of true. ) I ride my Rolfs as daily wheelsets anyway, but I weigh 140 and put out a mere 200-ish sustained watts, so I'm not likely to break things. You certainly can't go wrong with the DA wheels. And you're right; for flat ground, the Cosmic Carbones are hard to beat.

Fair enough.
Though the worst part was a scene where one guy was talking about making a computer hook up to a short wave radio to send morse code... the whole time he was looking at the hardware to see if it could be done he was looking at a monitor! He never actually looked at a computer  But that's movies for you I guess.
Really, really should be sleeping but I don't want to :(
Edit: Okay, sucking it up and going to bed because I'm getting bored. Good night!
Fair enough.Whoops, I just noticed that Gobots had already come and gone by the time you were born, so that may very well have been the first you've heard of it. :o

I can just see directors telling the FX people, "I don't know, whatever! Make it look fancy and high-tech! Make it impressive!"
My friends sisters were having a girls night at the house so they wanted to escape, they came over. Me personally, I wanted to watch the notebook or the Lake house :D But they weren't having it. :p We literally spent 3+ hours trying to find a place to eat then ate, and were all completely useless and goofy it's pretty funny. We had tons of choices, thai, korean, chinese, pancake house, blah blah. Finally we ended up at a pancake house. We went to the store for something, we all stand there and no one can figure out why we came to the store, everyone thought the other person wanted something. The entire night we're all laughing like *******. That was interesting.

Trying to change my phone number as I keep receiving phone calls from Guam.
First it will be the area code from there: 671-XXX-XXXX
Then comes 52-671-XXX-XXXX
Then finally UNKNOWN.
F that. Getting my number changed. They've only left a message once and it sounded like a child speaking gibberish; that or the local language Chamorro. /shrug

I'm tring to figure out what Pheard is trying to say and watch TdF coverage. Bob Roll makes more sense than Pheard.;)
Ok cliff notes version. We ate, laughed, went to the store, laughed, and that's about it.
Anyways. Saw this sweet bike in roadbiking, reminded me of Siu's dog. :)

Have to leave in a bit over an hour to go ride with/meet the people I'm doing a 10 hour relay with weekendaafter next. Then I'm going to stop in at a new (to me) bike shop and hopefully find a saddle I like :D The shop's been around for a while, but it's about 40 mins from my place so I've never been since there's a good one about 5 minutes from me.
I really need to clean my mountain bike up a bit... but so lazy. And I know it'll be filthy when I come back from my ride so I guess I'll just do it then.
Now I really should find some breakfast...

Oh great, 80% chance of showers where we're supposed to ride. The trails there are extremely loose sand in some areas, I really don't want to deal with them when they're wet :(

Hmm... that's a pretty good plan. Maybe I should make some coffee, or just pick some up on my way to the ride because I have no idea where my coffee maker has gone.
Switched from coffee to orange juice. Mmmmm...

I had to settle for tea :(
Haven't heard back from anyone regarding the ride today so I guess I have to just assume that people will still show up... Not sure how dedicated they are, most girls I know won't go out and ride in the rain. Hopefully someone replies to my email.
Well, time for me to go. Good luck on your ride/meeting and saddle shopping Mal. See ya later folks.

At first glance it looked like there was a clothes line growing outta the seat post!
Off to Boston for the day. Probably gonna have lunch at The Miracle of Science! :) Yum!!
Later Foo!
Blah, the power went out last night, apparently long enough for my laptop's battery to go dead. Lost over 92 days of uptime. :(

Just saying Hi!
Got back in from Barabados last night aroung midnight. Wow, what a beautiful island. People were very nice and freindly as well. If anyone ever gets the chance to go, I highly recommend it.
Now, I'm off to catch up on the TDF and then go mow some grass...er...weeds in the back yard.

Just got home from my preride/shopping. The bike shop I went to ended up having almost nothing in stock for women's saddles so I stopped by my local shop and got them to order the one I wanted. But I did get some fantastic gloves, not only are the fingers long enough for me, but they're soft inside!
This "race" is going to be extremely easy, not technical stuff at all
Hi Guys! It's been a week and I'm going through withdrawls. This past week was quite exhausting. I'm happy to be home.

 You still did way better than most people could so don't be too hard on yourself :)
I am beat after biking/running errands all morning... So I am being awesome and spending my Saturday night at home in my pjs eating clemintines and drinking hot chocolate. I think it's a legitimate strategy. But there is no one else around on the interwebs, this is kind of dull :(
I'm here, unfortunately. I have nothing to do on a Saturday night. :(
...except hang out on Foo. :)
Pics of the pjs... s'go.

a race which is way to big for you? I thought you were doing some 12 hour solo thing or something...no race is too big for you! :) Or were you talking about your t-shirt? I like big t-shirts.

Well, it's better than nothing. I have nothing. :( I'm only 20, so if I drink beer, I will go to hell.

Indeed. Cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate. I'm also drinking a cup of french vanilla coffee right now (it's my dessert)
