Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm waiting for my bath to cool down a bit. Don't want to scald my...well, you know.;) Figure I'll have a nice long soak, possibly with a nap. Cleaning the gutters out yesterday evidently required use of my muscles in ways to which they are not accustomed. Might hit my parents hot tub later. I've got a whirlpool tub, but it's just not the same. All in all, it's been a productive(if exhausting) weekend. Now I just need to go hit a trail somewhere....
Whoo hoo on productivity - for them that have it, that is. Who wants to wash my dishes tonight? I'll even cook (read order in) for you!

My dishwasher washes all of the dishes - sure - sometimes it melts one but it's clean for trash pick up. :D

Worked in the garden most of the day. Planted [even MORE] portulaca seeds among other stuff. You know, portulaca is a whole lot like sex. . .can't get enough. Made some plans for modifying the church administration. Then to finish off, I had an argument with my addict son. . .it jes' don't get no better 'n that. . .'til he stabs me one day!

Not true. I've been seduced by the handling bug. :p My family has four cars that go 0-60 in about 6 seconds, so the power in this car is nothing special by our somewhat spoiled standards. (And it even feels slower than the others because the power delivery is so smooth.) But its handling is absolutely sublime. Sure, my mom's MB E500 (my next favorite) shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 2's might corner just as hard, but it doesn't have the razor sharp and linear response to driver inputs or the crystal clear feedback. (Of course, that was never the intent of that car.)
Our Lancer gives us that for a lot less $$$ :)

Weekend WAS AWESOME!!!. Now back to the work thing. I rode all three days on the mountain bike this week I'll get in some mileage for the 1st century of the season. Sunday is E-rock ride here in Colorado. Looking forward to this ride and improving time overall!!!
Off to go eat some oatmeal.

Advocacy packages to explain the benefits of being bike friendly to workplace managers. Materials for employers and for them to give employees (we worked up six brochures for employees). Great response so far.

Got 50 in yesterday morning before it got ridiculously hot. Next ride will push me over 1,000 miles for the year - from there, only 3,000 more to reach my goal. :o

I'm about 75 miles shy of 1000 for the year. It's hot and humid out there, but who cares, I'm riding anyways especially since I bought some new bike clothes. BTW, the weekend was good. Went bike riding w/ my wife and managed just over 12 mi in close to 3 hrs. :)

Maybe you should get a tandem.

Ah that Pyridoxine hydrocloride in that drink gets to me Jschen.
Oh, as for what I'm doing, an annoyingly slow reaction is keeping me in the lab. I've been at it for 5 hours. My coworker took 5 minutes for the same reaction. (Under less carefully controlled conditions when we were working on a test reaction scale.) Oh well, whatever. At least it's working.
Oh, and Sunday, five of us had a lovely ride on Palomar. Ended up deciding it was too nice out to rush through the ride, so we cut it short to about 60 miles. But that still meant 8500 vertical feet, so we still had a mildly challenging ride. Went to my parents' place and helped with organizing some of the workflow for my dad's office. Not very exciting, but it's productive work, I guess.

I'm also trying to figure out if I should take a shower before I go to bed, because I kinda stink.
EP, go take that shower!
Hoping someone gets on gabbly chat. And hoping my reaction finishes sooner rather than later so that I can go home!
Finally... done with work. I need a beer. I think I'll go have a drink before heading home.
And an e-mail today reminded me (not on purpose) that I'm feeling a bit underappreciated by my college friends. As an example, my high school ex-girlfriend contacts me just to talk more often than all nine of my college roommates combined. And my high school ex and I only talk a few times a year, with each of us initiating contact about half the time. For that matter, my best friend isn't much better recently. He ends up finding out how I'm doing either because his wife (also a good friend of mine) calls/e-mails or because I call.) Oh well, whatever... that's not something for me to deal with tonight. And never mind the many people who I consider good friends who recently haven't bothered to return calls or e-mails.
dog hair (in the roadie forum) has far less of a history with me (one ride before this past weekend), yet he will initiate contact just to go riding together. And it's not as if I'm a great riding partner for him. (I'm way too slow to be useful to him as a training partner.) Anyway, no more about this for now, or else I'm just going to make myself more annoyed tonight. I guess I'll just appreciate for now that there are two college friends who have actually bothered to say hi in the last month, not counting those who send a quick e-mail or call me purely because they need something from me. Those two even sent postcards from Europe. (Separately, on separate trips.) And I'll go have that beer. Good night, all.

The world and people suck like that. They only initiate contact when they think they have something to gain from it or they need something.

Toasting an everything bagel(man, I love those things!) and browsing BF, trying to remember where the door hardware is for my old fridge. I plugged it up and checked it out...works fine, but no way to attach the doors.:( Duct tape would work, but I'm not sure I could still open them.
Repair guy came yesterday(hour and a half late! ) and didn't have the damn part to fix my fridge! Had to order it and now I have to wait until the 12th to get it fixed...at a cost of $205, no less. Hello, I got perishables here, people! Argh! Anyway, figured I'd try using my old refrigerator, but I can't remember what I did with the hinges. Coulda swore I came across 'em a while back....

:-/ I think i accidentally grabbed them. They were all shiny and stuff and i was like "ooh shiny trinket" Then I sold them or lost them or something. :(
If an 800 dollar fridge needs 200 dollar repairs. man. I would be hurting somebody. An 800 dollar fridge should last 1-2 decades without question, without any problems. We have a freezer that is probably 5-10 years my senior that still runs great.

I have a terrible tale of CD woe. You know those CDs I've been burning for the last six weeks? The ones that I have painstakingly and lovingly checked? We're cutting them up today. Yes, people, I have to make new CDs. We won't recall any of the packages already out there but we want to make sure that the CDs with the smaller files are distributed from here on out. I won't go into how this happened - other than to say that our graphic designer made a choice when I started burning which turned out to bite us all in the butt. *sigh* I may break something. Any more pie?

The inability to unclip easily should be easily adjustible. Take it into a local Bike shop or talk to somebody who is bike tech savvy. There's should just be a little thing you probably have to loosen or tighten.
The fear is not so easy. After my big accident last year I can't take turns fast. It is a phobia I will probabloy live with the rest of my life, much like my numb and tight shoulder.

I would say that traffic isn't anything to worry about, but from what I'm told the civilized East is 10000 times more barbaric and intolerant then "Red Neck, dumb as ****, extremely intolerant" texans when it comes to Traffic and cyclists. :)
