Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Next weekend will probably be even better. We will be trying to arrange a double shift on wednesday is order to get a 4 day weekend. An 18 hour shift is no joke. Same jobsite, so if we do end up managing to arrange it, I will probably sleep in my back seat before driving home. Last time I drove home that far extremely tired, I crashed.
After 18 hours of work a nap would definitely be called for. I think I've got a 4 day weekend coming up soon actually :D We just work 9 hour days to get every other Friday off, we can't quite convince the boss to go for something like what you've got going :)
Where is the repair guy... I want to be able to do stuff and I really can't until he comes and leaves!

We have a similar program here. We can work 8's, 9's, or 10's. Everyone in my cube works 9's and are all out today. :(

Gonna do some intervals on my trainer. :o Then eat. :D Then knock out some tax work. :( Then go to this evening's HH. :) A friend and former colleague is leaving for Colorado on Sunday, so we're going to have a pretty nice crowd to see her off. She's moving there for graduate school.

Summer colds are like some extra-evil form of torture. Hope your feeling better soon.
Indeed they are. Thanks for your well-wishes, and I hope you and everyone is well. There's a small epidemic of summer colds going around the country right now. :(
Nice Av VV.
I made that a lonnng time ago, we even designed jerseys for it. :p

Our friend is closing her shop after many years and had great closeouts on some very nice pianos. We were able to get this new piano well below what used models are selling for. It is a Baldwin L1 Artist Grand.

Right now I'm reading a thread about...... I forgot. But it has to do with single guys and pizza. I think. And I'm on Gabbly too.

She does that all the time. But she'll only do it when she thinks no one is looking while in a dark corner. Some think it's schizophrenia, I just think it's good ol' southern hospitality. Everyone needs to have a good conversation with themself every once in awhile. :p

Of the bike or the piano? :p
I still need to paint the walls so it is tucked into the corner till I can get that started. I'll try to get a better picture with my dslr.
I just got back from quick ride to the LBS to pick up tubes, put air in my tires, and change how my rear wheel is going to be built. I decided to go with 3x for strength. Besides that, it looks like rain. :( Hopefully, it won't rain while I'm on Critical Mass. Also, I hope my friend arrives safely.

There's a piano in that pic?! <scrollin' back> Well, I'll be.... Nice set of ivories!
Letting the muscles in my accelerator-pushin' leg rest for a few minutes in some unknown barely-town in Illinois somewhere. It has a Chevy dealership, a McDonald's, a gas station, and a motel. It's a happenin' town!
Do you at least know what part of Illinois you're in? Central? West?

That bike is an Indy Fab steel Deluxe. Great hardtail. Not a super lightweight but oh so smooth. I used to have a Specialized s-works ht at 22 lbs but it was just too harsh for my old bones.
I would love to get a Turner Flux but I think that will have to wait. They'll be making them next year too.
Do you at least know what part of Illinois you're in? Central? West?Looks like central-ish. I think it's called Chenoa.

Well after waiting all day for the repair guy to show up he was here for 5 minutes just to tell me he needs to order a new door for the dishwasher and it will be out of commission for another week  It's already been a month since I've had a dishwasher thanks to renovations :(

My dishwasher pump quit working about 10 years ago. To replace it would have cost just as much as buying a low-end new one. Buying a new dishwasher would have been another "project," so we decided not to. Ten years later, I can't say that I've missed it, especially living alone now.
About eight years ago, the heating element on my gas dryer basically crumbled. To buy a new dryer would have been another "project." So, eight years later, I'm still using my solar dryer. ;) And can't say as I miss having a dryer. It's not like my laundry load is so big. As long as the 37-year-old washer continues to work, I'm not gonna worry about it. :p

While I was out earlier to go to drop of my parking tickets at my companies shop, I got the opportunity to get hoisted 20 feet in the air by a forklift. That was pretty dang entertaining.

I just finished building up a bike for my roommate. I had most of the stuff lying around not doing anything, so I thought I'd put it all together. Torpado Beta frame and fork, Nitto stem and bars, Ofmega crank and BB, Campagnolo shifters and derailers, Universal brakes. The only things I had to buy were cables, a chain, and brake pads.

Just got back from a short 10 mile ride on the BRP. Cool and breezy up there. My favorite evening ride, though this one was a bit short.
