I just went for a ride and I realise Im having anxieties about traffic..I get scared to death that Im going to get hit, I stop and I cant move, Im scared to get back on.. it has happend once or twice. my left shoe doesnt unclip easily and I have crashed so many times.. I got to get this looked at cause Now Im developping a fear for cars.
Just go w/ the flow and ride so that you're visible. Don't do anything unexpected if you can avoid it. And think of riding in traffic as fun. :)

Nah. It's pretty much the same. Just more guns in the vehicles of the rednecks down there in Texas. :)
No it's not. Listening to every single tale from everybody from one end of the east coast to the other above florida) I'm pretty positive that they are the rudest drivers on the face of the planet. One of their horror stories for a single day could last me a month to 1/2 a year to a year.

I'm trying to figure out why the heck i even bothered working 26 hours to make a deadline i knew i couldnt make, ****ing up my whole sleeping and working schedule and causing me to hate my work even more so then I already do.
Poor TG. :(
Back from my pre-breakfast ride. I was going to go back to bed this morning, but I agreed last night with Nims (in the roadie forum) to try to ride every day this month.
Good thing, too. Went out this morning just to cruise around and get my riding in, but after seeing that I was on PR pace at the top of Mt Soledad--even in cruising mode I have to give my all on Soledad since it's so steep--switched over to time trial mode and clocked a 1:01:18, shattering my previous PR of 1:04:05. :D
Just got in from a bike month launch event. Good turnout. More bike commuters should have stopped about twice the number who did stop went flying by saying, "No time!" Lots of media though.

Well, so the plan goes. Most rides won't be in time trial mode. And 2-3 times per week, I'll take shorter, flatter rides.

on my spare time, Im figuring out some huge issues in my life that I have ben pushing away, maybe it's time for changes? maybe im not couragous enough for changes, maybe it's easier to dream about changes so you dont need to actually get out there and get what you want... sigh... need to go riding and think about this
Good luck, Blondie. I hope things work out. Life is not like a box of chocolates but more like a bowl of melted chocolate. You may want to dip your whole face in the bowl but sometimes it's better to wait or dip someone else's face to make sure that the chocolate is cool.

I just came back from riding in the rain. I didn't plan it that way which is why I'm soaking wet. I hope my cycling shoes dry by tomorrow. Or maybe even later today. :D
My institute is disassembling one of our older computing clusters. They're giving away the nodes. Dual 2.4 GHz Xeon processors! Priority goes for lab use, but I've gone ahead and e-mailed saying that I'd happily take one for non-lab use if they have extras to spare. Stick a bit more RAM in (they come with 1 GB), a fast hard drive, and a good video card, and it should make a great gaming machine! I hope I get one.
Now I am trying to shake myself and feeling like a big loser for not keeping track of this thread today. *sigh* Five minutes and then I'm home until TOMORROW. *sigh*

1) Take a drink of Banana Coconut Frappucchino.
2) Look at bike forums.
3) Look at huge mess on desk
4) Look at bike forums.
5) Note that huge mess has yet to shift itself.
6) Give it another chance by looking at bike forums.
7) Glare at mess to give it the push it needs.
8) Turn back to bike forums to give mess a chance to redeem itself.
Darn it, *sigh* Mess is still here.

After working 27 hours and then watiing for boss to come in afew hours after and letting us knwo that there was no deadline and they had no plan on showing I went home. Slept for a fewh ours, got up worked out. I then went to see Da Vinci Code. Very good movie, and one of the few movies where Tom Hank was not annoying. One of My favorite actors was in there (lead police/investigator).
I saw somebody in my apartment complex who had left their lights on for a few hours without their vehicle running. heh. I should have gone and told them before I left for the movie because I think i know which apartment they are in (think i nearly ran her over once with my bike :p)
And now i"m here wondering why i bothered coming to work.

Sadly, there's nowhere it can go in here. Every surface other than my desk is covered in advocacy packages yet to be distributed. I should probably find some boxes and pack them up.There is an area between the file cabinet and next to my desk which looks perfect but I should probably look through some of this cra....I mean, very important work. Yes, that's exactly what I mean. :D
