My friends just left. They came by and we sat outside enjoying the NC humidity together one last time before they go back to Germany. :D
Sad to see them go. They were here the past two summers as well, and they sure helped me a lot with regard to errands and fetchin' groceries when I could not leave the house, and they provided very welcome German-speaking company for my husband. He sure loved that! :)
Guess I should start thinking about a mid- to late-afternoon bike ride, but I do want to take care of a couple of things first (yeah, I know, sometimes life just gets in the way of ridin' :( )
Just had a glowing review, to the point where the GM said she's never seen anyone get such a good review from the boss that did it :) And I will be receiving a formal job offer by the end of the week for full time permanent employment :D

I just picked the first Serrano off of my plant. It's got about five more starting to form right now, my Jalapeño plant is starting to make peppers, and it looks like the Bell plant is getting ready to as well. Now to make some lunch.:)

Ouch, $6/hour?! I remember paying something like $1/hour in Halifax for internet + computer use...
My plans for the mtb fest in New york this weekend have fallen through :( Kinda sad, I was really looking forward to it. But now my friend/co-worker can get the day off to go to a cottage since there's no point in me taking the day off to do nothing when he wants to do something.
But now I have to find something to do this weekend since my step-siblings will be over and I don't want to be home while they're there. Should be interesting.
Internet Cafes = t3h sux0rz.Nah, I'm in the parking lot of a Starbucks, but none of the ones I've found seem to have the free internet access thing going on, they all have a third-party wireless system set up. Meh.

I'm long and waiting to reach the trigger point so I can get out of this one stock...bought it about 6 mos ago expecting a good 10-15% rise...instead I got a good 10-15% loss....stocks just now getting back to where I bought it. I'm hoping to just cover the trade costs at this point.

Yeah, my short is contrarian by nature, so I was delighted when the market took a hit last week. Unfortunately, though jittery from reports last week, traders are apparently (still) overconfident in debt repayment, and so we're seein' a little uptick at the moment. But I imagine we'll see another little downturn by Thursday....

Reviewed my bike - disc brakes are just about gone. :eek: Now, where in the world will I get disc brakes for a F900 Louise MTB in Costa Rica? There is a decent Cannondale shop about 2 hours away... maybe, just maybe. The only sell up to the F500 series.

oooo haven't had one of those in a while. I luv storms and watching them --- but those sudden bombs overhead that leave an echo in your ear <shudder> are not good!
