Foo - Whatcha doin'?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Im totally exhausted! went riding at 6 this morning ( before the crazy tourists are on the roads) and it was 95 today so I spend the whole day at the beach, it was soooooo relaxing and beautiful but somehow all that sun has me drain, got to hit the sac soon so i can go back riding at 6 tomorrow, plus I need to run soon too, it's been 6 days since my last run! bad girl!
It was RIDICULOUSLY hot today! I volunteered to work and sat in air conditioning for most of the day. I did get in a short ride with my new shorts (!!!) at 5:30pm and was sooo exhausted. Unfortunately, I don't have a beach to chill at :(

It was pretty durn hot in NC as well. I spent all day in the yard pulling weeds, planting flowers....working on my farmer's tan! (not to be confused with my Hawaii Tan or my Bike Tan!)

It was hot so I stayed indoors all day and watched soccer. I did take some ice cream and frozen yogurt breaks though. :D

I'm feeling a bit better, so I think I'll go on a short, easy hike! :)
I'm going to bed now...Goot night all!
I put together my frist 10 PMC letters which I am giving to my teachers tommorow...PLus tommorow is my last final then SUMMER!
woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot
Oh and Im wearing my riding clubs jacket to school tommorow :D
I'm sitting here with sand between my toes, one of the neighbors has a wireless connection, creating a hot spot in my shack, sshhhhhhh! The floor will be like the beach as this sand dries and falls off my feet.
I was on the bike riding at 7:00, used arm warmers all day, it was actually a perfect temp, high 60's I guess. I rode 50 miles up the Pacific Coast Highway, then when the north wind kicked up, I turned around and it became a tail wind and blew me back to the start. Hilly but easy 100 miles with light traffic. It's strawberry season in Oregon now, a guy at a framer's market I came across was selling strawberry shortcake for $3, that took me few miles ;-)

Nice new avvy! Watch out for mountain lions and I'm glad you're feeling better!
The eBay auction I'm watching has gone up to over $200 past my limit. Guess I'm not getting that bike either. :(
Nice new avvy!
Yeah, nice one Shadiyah!

Please help out our understanding of the situatin here. A pic of each of those three tans would be helpful so that we can tell the difference between them all. :p

Ha ha...Sounds like the first time I took the fork lift out. I was told to move some pallets but was never trained on the dang thing or told which way to take them through to the back. So I tried to fake it out and just started messing with the controls. When I thought I had it figured out, I went to get the pallet. Well heck! This was waaay easier than I thought! So here I am, running through the building at the fastest the thing will go, a little "weeeeeeeeeee!" pulsing through my heart till....
d - d - d - d srrrreee! KA BANG!!!!!!! BAM BAM ka thunk! Bonk....crash, tinkle, tinkle.........
I just tore through some shelving units. And all of the metal supports and the product were all over the floor. I sat there looking at the mess, trying not to cry (blilnk blink!). Actually my lower lip started to quiver, and a slight sniffling can be heard. And then all of the guys came rushing over. A wee bit embarassing....
This was my first day on the job.

I've played it 12 times in a row (and counting)....
(thank God for my internet warrior son...)
Reminds me of my dad. He has a whopping 3 songs on his computer. 1 of them is Pancho and Lefty and 2 are by some older singer whom i forget. Think "I don't remember loving you anymor" and another song by him i think. Each time he wants a song he has asked me to get it :p

hey texas!
Flippin, glad you're okay.
Gave my sister the earrings on Friday night. She likes them, but she can't say much about them at home since I asked her to keep it hushed since my other sisters haven't gotten anything yet. A 50 mile hill climb ride with a BF member who had never posted before (His first post was on Friday afternoon looking for someone to do this climb with) on Saturday morning. Neither of us had done the route before (though I had driven it, and I had done the final portion going up to the top of Baldy), and we had a blast. Bummed around with my family, watching TV for most of the rest of the day. Did a short "hilly" route (12 miles, over 1000 vertical feet) with my sister (not the one who got the earrings) on Sunday morning. A very relaxed pace for me, a tough hill training pace for her. She made it without walking this time. :) She wanted to walk up one particularly steep portion, but by the time she felt like walking, she was about 5 vertical feet from the top and with the steepest part already behind her, so I convinced her to stay on the bike and gut it out. Had a Father's Day brunch, then helped my dad around the office a bit.
Out of curiosity (and a fit of silliness) decided to see how much gas one can save turning off the air conditioning in the car. (But otherwise driving normally. Averaged 74.x MPH door to door.) Got 33 MPG on my drive back to San Diego last night rather than the more typical 27-29 MPG. Who said a fast car can't be fuel efficient?
Back at work now.

Funny story from the weekend: I was in the car with my sister and we saw a group of (male) roadies kitted out on their OCP rides. I was lusting after a Giant TCR and a Raleigh that two of them had, and mentioned as much.
My sister said in exasperation: "You are the ONLY person I know who would look at the BIKES before looking at the GUYS!!"
I think she's planning an intervention...
SBW, that's an awesome first day story.
Flippin, you can tell your sister that I notice the bikes first, too. And I definitely notice them before noticing the guys. (Now if there's a group of females cycling, well, that might be a different story. :p )
Oh, almost forgot. My sisters gave me my birthday present a week early. Lots of cycling clothing from Performance.

Whew! I am sore as, well, a really sore person!:p Hungry, too. Mountain biking on no sleep after a long day, and even longer night at work wasn't my brightest idear. It was fun, tho. I definitely needed a good ride, too. Gotta stop making excuses not to ride. Having said that, I'll probably be a lazy bum today.:D The evil chocolate peanut butter is calling me...must resist...eat healthy food instead....
Anybody else have a certain food that gets stuck in the "crave" center of your brain when you're really hungry? I have plenty of other things to eat now(fridge is fixed), but all I can think about is that damnable chocolate peanut butter!
Right now its those caribbean pirate m&ms. I think I'm going to make myself not buy anymore for a while. I've gone through like 4 bags in the last 2 weeks. Bad me. bad bad me.

Well Foosters..... it's Saturday and I'm home with a box of tissue in my lap and a bunch of decongestant meds in my system. I'm sooooo sick. Didn't sleep last night, sweating, coughing, nasal congestion and yes.....now my chest is congested, and I've got this Darth Vader sound coming from my chest when I try to breathe! :( I'm so depressed and disgusted! I had been looking forward to this trip for months, took yesterday and monday off and was really excited about doing this cycling trip. I called early this morning and told them to go without me. I can't stop coughing and have gone through two boxes of Kleenex. :( This really sucks!:( I'm gonna go lay down again. i'm totally bummed.
 hope you're feeling better soon.

Well let's put it this way. I had been with the company for a long time but that was my first day in the new position in a different part of the building. I had to work harder to prove not only to myself but to everyone around me that I could succeed. A year and a half after the incident, I got promoted to assistant manager of that department. Not bad for a girl in a guy's world, huh? :D

What am I doing? I'm at woprk. I drove to work instead of cycled because it was teh downpouring. Supposedly we got 8 -10 inches of rain. Now its very cloudy but the usnis out and trying to dry stuff up. Too late for me though.
My music play list is being very good to me the last 15 minutes.
Journey - Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)
The Go-Go's - Our Lips Are Sealed
Tears For Fears - Shout
Eddie Money - Take Me Home Tonight/Be My Baby
Martika - Toy Soldiers
Prince - When Doves Cry
I don't know about you guys but I worked all weekend :( Though I did drive down to pasadena to see if I could cycle along the Bayou river. Doesn't seem like you can. But I did ride a ferry twice. The last time, coming back, the man asked me to go to the way way way side so he could fit a huge pickup on because traffic was backing up.
