march 18th, the ides of march alleycat. anyway, alleycat's cool anyway, but this one is 5 bucks per entry. with the total...half to the winner, half to the big fix. so you ought to come, even if you don't think you'll do well.

90 minute points race in the South Park blocks, huh? I might have to drag myself to that one. Keep us posted if you get any more info.

I"m ****ing all over this one. I've been waiting forever to try out my first alleycat. I figured with as many fixie riders as portland appears to have there would be more alleycats. Then again I don't know if ptown has quite the scene of cities like chicago or nyc. Kind of a bummer.

yeah, i dunno...i guess you sort of have to keep your ear to the ground. go to portlandmessenger.org...there's some stuff there. shift2bikes.org isn't bad either.

oh, but on the topic of alleycats in other cities....what other city has something like pedalpalooza?

Um, Que? Portland has less people, therefore we have more....strip clubs. Anyhoo, can't really compare the three. But yeah, ears open! There is alot to do!

Portland isn't the bleeding heart bike commuter town I alwas imagined it to be?

it is, sort of. i lived in boise for about six months and seems not as good as it was before i left, but for the most part...most people ride bikes here, there are a lot of fixed riders, and there are a lot of people whose bike is their primary ride.

all that's still the same. but maybe i was just lucky before, or drivers have gotten more aggressive.

EDIT: still nothing bad, comparitively.

I thought that name looked familiar. I think I met you through Taylor last summer.
Anyway, there's a Boise Alleycat Mar 17th @6p @ Lucky13. Liverdance is the title.

I can't place a face for you either. It was either a Bike Shutdown or at the Nerdolux. I recognized the name from APPP.
I'll probably suck too, but it should be a cool way to spend St Patty's day. I hope I have my Fixie built up by then.

heh, yeah, the bike shutdown was cool for a little while. i have a new screen name on appp...i won't say who i am, but i'll say that when i do post (which isn't often), i make it a point to try and say nothing nice to anyone.
