man i wish david lynch would direct an adaptation of a phillip k dick novel. I mean mullholand drive was just like a dick book: one long delirous dream. I think arnofsky or spike jonze has been tapped to do a scanner darkly, which i think will be watered down if that is the case. i mean just look at adaptation, which was a great screenplay with indiferrent pacing and direction.

Blade Runner directed by Ridley Scott was an adaption of Phillip Dick's Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?. Great movie with Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer Sean Young, and with Darryl Hannah and Joanna Cassidy as two sexy beast/killing machines. Good soundtrack by Vangelis.

i love bladerunner and the book androids dream of electric sheep, but i think david lynch's aesthetic would fit in more with some of dick's more psychedelic books.

The three stigmata of Palmer Eldritch or Ubik.
'Running Man' was an adaptation of one of his short short stories?

3 stigmata is one of my all time favourite Dick books, although i have to say my absolute favourite is Flow my tears the policeman said. When i read it in 96 it seemed out of this world deviant, i cant imagine how even more deviant and leftfield it must have seemed 40 years ago. I think 3 stigmata would translate very well to film.

..and William Gibson won the P.K.Dick award..cybrpunk'd.
A person I knew? had a manuscript that was given to him by Phillip, as he didn't like it.
Saw my friends name in the d-to. It was later published by his family?
Might have been the one that got a literary award.
Radio free is the later big writing.

"The Truman Show" was blatant uncredited rip-off of Dick's novel "Time Out of Joint". Several scenes were lifted almost verbatim from the novel.
